All magic bleeds... The life I had is gone. Permanently. No matter how hard I try there’s just no going back. One night had ruined everything. Halloween night my best friend and I made a stupid, reckless, totally avoidable mistake. Two high school girls at a frat party had bad news written all over it. I knew better, but I’d let Elizabeth talk me into it. I should have stayed in my lane. But w ould’ve, could’ve should’ve was salt to the wound. There was no taking it back. That night would scar me in every way possible. If only my pain ended there. If only being in a coma for four months was the worst of it. If only I had died in that car accident…I never would have been kidnapped and taken to the vampire kingdom of Avolire. The Blood Witch is the first book in the sequel spin off in The Coven Saga, featuring a fierce new witch, a brooding morally gray vampire, and an age-gap secret romance to make you swoon. * Vampire Magic is Season Four in The Coven Saga . It can be read first but is best to be read after Season One - Elemental Magic, Season Two Academy Magic, and Season Three Fae Magic .
I wish I could give this book a 0. The author ruined an amazing series by trying to be edgy and more adult. This book is filled with abuse and betrayal. I miss the TNT days. I guess the Coven is over for me. I’ll wait until the last book to see if my favs live, but man what a bummer. Pure trash
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
How long till the next book?! Cliffhanger! I'm not sure who to trust, I'm not sure what's even going on at this point. The more adult scenes really threw me off. It's not what I expected in this series. Seemed kinda just tossed in.
Read book with caution, you might get addicted to Chandelle LeVaun
Ok well let me start with the bad things. There's only 2 of them for me and they aren't really that bad lol 1) I found this book to be jumpy and harder to follow than the others at frist. Frankie is our main character here and she is in a coma to start the book, I think the jumping around is to make the reader feel that. I had to go back and read some things because it would jump and when it jumped back I would be like wait huh. 2) Now alot of people won't find this to be a bad thing at all but this book has a bit of spice to it. Chandelle has done this amazing thing and created this world I am obsessed with, this is the 23rd book and only the 2nd one with spice. Personally I just don't think it adds anything to the story and it felt forced to me. It was almost as if she wrote the book and was told "add spice you have to add spice" So she wrote some scenes and added them. Now with this being said I will jump straight into the good things!!! 1) According to the author if you prefer a nonspicy book and provide proof of purchase she will send a link to a pg13 version!! This is the most amazing thing I have ever heard, even if you like spicy and wanted to share this world with a young reader you could (and definitely should) 2) this is book 23!!!!! In this series yet its STILL fresh and awesome!! I was up til 3 am reading it. 3) The ptsd is shown here and not covered up. Trama happened and it wasn't swept under the rug it's talked about and it changes the characters. Frankie even mentions how she changed. 4) this is a vampire book that does NOT trash talk twilight!!! Ok I get alot of people claim they hated it yet it was and still is insanely popular so it has alot more love than hate get over it. I LOVE that Chandelle doesn't trash other books or authors. She KNOWS she is amazing and it shines through her writing. 5) ok I have said it already but this is book 23!!! The characters still have individual personalities, likes, dislikes, activities, etc. Honestly I don't understand how anyone can introduce the newness after 23 books lol.
Not this book but the series!!! It's set up into seasons!! So this book is the 1st of season 4.
Honestly overall thoughts are GET THIS BOOK AND READ IT!! Do so with caution though, if you do you probably will become addicted to Chandelle LaVaun. I did with my 1st book of hers and I can't stop. She made other books dull for me because they aren't as good as hers. I do hope she continues to offer pg13 versions if she continues to add spice to her future books. If she does I will be getting that instead.
Wow! My mind is blown. Chandelle knows how to weave a story and throw in some amazing twists, turns, and downright shockers. This is Frankie's first story, but we've met her in previous Coven stories. This begins before all of that. We find out what happened to cause her to be in the hospital, and Chandelle handled that with utmost care of the story. If you have triggers, there is a trigger warning, but there's also a way to avoid it spelled out. There's some details that may be missed, but they will trickle out later. Also, this book is spicy. It's not YA. Barely a quarter of the way through the book and I already had a book hangover. My eyebrows reaching so high off my forehead, I'm surprised I still have them after finishing this story. Seriously, this book is amazing. We've met some of the characters before, not just the Coven members, we've seen some of the action before, but not in the same way or perspective. But there's soooo much more! New perspectives, new characters, new insights, and plans are being formed, thwarted, reformed, and succeeding on both sides. Omg it's brilliant. I'm excited to talk about this book with others who've read it. It is seriously amazing and I can't wait for the next!
Rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. We meet Frankie who is a Witch but unbeknownst to her. She and her BFF go to a Halloween party where things go seriously wrong. Next think she knows she swinging a bat, and stole a car to get her BFF to the hospital. As she arrives at the hospital she sees a guy help them and then boom. Frankie is unsure what is happening, she feels like she's hallucinating and when she comes out of it she's been told she has been in a coma for 4 months...what on earth happened....it all comes back to her. In order to health, she rests but continues to have dreams with strange people in them and her hallucinations are in real time too. Her BFF decides to go back to her real name Mei-ling decide to embrace life. But when fun turns into kidnapping and fighting to survive, it gets a lot more complicated. That complication is the guy that saved her and he's about to do it again but there is more to him than meets the eye. It is an interesting concept of the different characters and what roles they play. A dark and dangerous game of cat and mouse.
If you think you're ready, I promise, you aren't! Our Tower Card's story is for adult readers! Thank you Chandelle for the opportunity of an ARC! I am so grateful!!
The Blood Witch's introduction to The Coven Saga is a wild ride. Chandelle's ability to draw you in like a trance is supernatural. Frankie's story is the chance to see a new side of our favorite author and how her beautiful mind works. Elements of surprise, self-realization, healing, foreshadowing, smut, and touch her and die, are so strong. The fandom passion is one of my favorite touches of all The Coven works! You'll laugh, cry, and maybe discover something new about yourself ;) Chandelle might be my favorite tease because The Coven always makes me crave more! I have so many theories for what comes next and cannot wait to find out! Is it time for the next installment of Vampire Magic yet?!
I have been patiently waiting for this book for a long time, and it definitely was worth the wait. Frankie, so far, is everything I was hoping for, and more. Everest is just yummy, and I can't wait to see what is going on. I am not going to give away spoilers, but damn so many questions. We get information about Braison, which I know I have been wanting... and a little teaser with Sam. So excited for this new season and can't wait to see what happens next. So buckle up, we all know it's about to get exciting
This book is the opening to the season of vampires in the coven verse. It’s one of the slower books in the series as it has a lot more details since Vampires haven’t played a major role in the Coven series thus far. We finally get to meet Frankie after the coma and learn more of what happened the night of the accident. I personally found myself waiting for more to happen as the coven is more action packed but the action is slower in this one.
Can’t wait to see what happens between the coven and the vampires
In Chandelle LaVaun, Blood Witch, we meet up with Frankie on Halloween night 2018 right before the events that led up her being marked by the goddess. Frankie wakes up in a strange room in a strange bed and immediately knows something is not right. She hears a guy who is supposed to be someone that she thought that she could trust and consider a friend trying to have his way with her best friend. That makes the drugs that he has dosed her with slowly leaving her system because her fight or flight mode kicks in. She grabs a baseball bat and goes all Harley Quinn on the guys in the room with them that’s trying to take advantage of them. Once she has knocked them out she realizes that they have blockade them in with the furniture so she starts to scream for help. The next thing she knows is that two guys is breaking the door in and helping them escape they have to carry her friend out because she is barely breathing. Frankie and her saviors makes it’s downstairs and out of the party before the other party goers try and stop them from leaving so the guys throw them in the car and tell Frankie to get them to safety. The next thing Frankie knows is that her arm is on fire and she’s crashing the stolen car that she’s in right outside the hospital. Frankie wakes up almost 4 months later on Valentine’s Day 2019 to find that’s she’s been in a coma since Halloween and slowly her memories starts to come back to her. For awhile she think that she’s going crazy because she’s been dreams of everything that’s been happening and randomly waking up but she thought that she was losing her mind and that it was no way that none of that was true until she saw Katherine and Tegan. So it then took Frankie 4 days after she woke up from her coma to convince the doctors that she was fine to return home but not without supervision of course. Tegan went home with Frankie and protected her until she was kidnapped from a fair with her best friend Mei-Ling and best friend boyfriend Malik. When Frankie woke up this time she found that she was in Avolire and captured by vampires. Just when she was about to give up and leave her faith in the hands of her captors her hero from Halloween night shows up yet again to save her life once more. He tells the vampires that has captured Frankie that she is his and to take her to his chamber. Once in his chamber Frankie finds out that her knight in shining armor name is Everest and that he is the son of Lilith. Everest also frees her best friend Mei-Ling to gain her trust and he then proceeds in telling Frankie everything about her being a witch and being in the coven and him working with the coven and that he’s going to get her out of Avolire. They try to escape several times but things never goes as planned finally Queen Sweyn returns to Avolire and she’s not alone either so things goes from bad to worse extremely fast. Queen Sweyn returns with Asmodeus and Azazel two of Lilith most loyal generals to stir up trouble and put Lilith plans into motion for her war on the Coven. So now that Sweyn is back what is going to happen is Frankie going to finally going to be able to escape Avolire, or will she be found out to be a witch and killed or even worse turned into a vampire herself? What will happen with her relationship with Everest now that Sweyn is back and why did she really bring Asmodeus and Azazel to Avolire? I guess that you will have to read this book to find out all of these questions and more for yourself?
Schrodinger's plot: So much happens but nothing happens. This book dumps you into the middle of a series and there should be a ton of back story but the author decided to pretend this was a new series instead of an extension of another series. I'm here stumbling in the dark because there is no indication of a prior series if this is a new author for you. Continuity fail.
Add a ridiculous number of characters, insane confusing details and it's all a bit too much. We know some of the protagonists, maybe. We know some of the antagonists, maybe. But some of them seem to flip flop positions. There is an entire plot line about unknown women and one character that literally ends the book without any sense of resolution on anything. The level of complexity is beyond impossible for any sort of satisfying plot arc in a 400 page book, it's all very choppy abrupt and annoying. I'm frustrated and annoyed because I feel like I need a police murder board style set up to track all the detail webs, but I still know nothing.
The characters are ok. I like Frankie and several of the others but there are so many characters wedged in as focal POV characters that we don't get to really know them enough to decide who we like or don't like.
The most basic stripped back storyline ( witches vs Lilith) is a cool idea but it's overwhelmingly complicated in this book.
The author starts this book with an SA trigger warning. She later starts one more chapter with a similar warning. Please let me be the one to tell you that this is not a sufficient illustration of the level of SA trigger potential in this book. It is absolutely rife with abusive situations and shadows of SA throughout. Do not read this book if you have any trigger concerns.
The author ends the book with a blurb about sharing this book with young adult friends and an alternate Pg13 option being available. First of all, I would NOT recommend sharing this book with young audiences. I have read romance since I was about 13, some of which included on page SA by the main characters (that 80s publishing was wild), and I still would not recommend this book to that same audience. It is a disturbingly gratuitous use of abuse that does not add value to the story, and it is on almost every page for a good portion of the book.
My, oh, my, wasn't that a wonderful spicy surprise! I HIGHLY suggest following Chandelle's page and getting the pg13 version if you read this series to your children or if your child in the lower teens reads this series.
I DEVOURED this book. This is the 1st book in the Vampire Magic, but not the first book in The Coven Series. I highly suggest reading ALL of the Coven books in order so you get all of the juicy little details in the book that follows. That includes this book! There are many small details that might go overlooked. Have you not known to recognize them!
This is by far the spiciest Coven book, but... I am HERE FOR IT! Considering The Coven is all aging... well, some of them. It was the perfect book to let some spice fly! And why not with the vampires?? After all, they are as close to sin as one might guess.
Frankiiieeee, let me tell ya, is my new A TEAM! I have loved her energy from the day Chandelle mysteriously brought her into this world. But getting to see the whole her, that I fear isn't even her at her best or her worst. She is the definition of THE TOWER if anyone ever has been. She will come in and wreck a whole bunch of shit before things start getting better.
Everest, I loveeee how he plays such a larger role in this war than I even thought was possible. He is perfect for Frankie and her for him. They are calm within chaos. Or.... vise versa!
While I think some people who have read this entire series may hate the spice in this book, and that's perfectly okay. I do think Chandelle portrayed Frankie excellently as the TOWER card, and I think the spice was necessary to show key aspects of what the TOWER represents in Tarot. It means that's sometimes you are hot/cold. You are fighting yourself over something... Sometimes, you have to break yourself down in order to come into your fullest potential. Occasionally, it's just that you have to start looking at YOURSELF the way everyone already looks at you. You have to let yourself find that little piece of darkness inside of you, grab hold of it, and know that it makes you shine brighter because of it.
I'm anxiously waiting for the next book! Hopefully, I won't need to hold my breath for too long!
Other reviewers hit the nail on the head. If you have been following along the Coven series, this feels like a complete left turn.
I'm not opposed to spicy books, but considering the previous books have been grossly PG-13 (with the exception of the stand-alones) this one did not make sense to be "spicy" when you consider that the author is also offering a PG-13 version.
Speaking of spicy, there were a few trigger warnings in this book. The ones that are there made absolute sense to me. However, many similar types of scenes were not included with trigger warnings and I found that very confusing. The book as a whole had a lot of themes of lack of consent. I wish she had released the PG-13 version and had the "spicy" version available as an extra because it really overwhelmed the story for me, and it wasn't sexy considering the continued themes of lack of consent.
Which, leads me to my last disappointment. This book on the whole to me felt like a rough draft, in comparison to the previous books in this series. I didn't feel like I got a chance to know Frankie, or Mei-Ling and Malik before it all went to crap, unlike with Saffie's story, or even Tegans and Bettina's. It makes almost zero sense, that Tegan would coddle her and tell her nothing even after the demon attacks. I'll stop now before I spoil something. Super disappointing. I hope that the next book is more sensical.
I get it but why does Frankie have to be so annoying
OMG 🙄 Frankie is all like, I’m gonna be smart, then does something extremely dumb. Communication is the only way forward. Whatever! I wanted to punch her so hard though.
Okay, that’s all out now. If you love action packed books with an age gap romance and a paranormal bend, this is the one! It’s really so much more than this though as it’s a continuation based on another series. Read the others for a richer background, but it’s not super necessary.
Tropes: found family, romcom, vampires, fae, witches, ancient prophecy, Coven witchy vibes, Tarot card themed
Review: The Blood Witch sucker punched me in the BEST ways! I have been waiting to meet Frankie ever since she was introduced and man did her story leave me twisted up inside. While Chandelle is beginning to throw the mixed species couplings into the Coven world I am left in the middle of wanting Frankie to end with Everest and hoping we finally see Cooper get his woman. However, this first book provided us much needed laughs and a lot of answers in regards to how the Coven is evolving and maturing for their fight with Lilith!
One thing I was not ready for was Everest's true parentage. To say I was shocked by him would be vastly understated. I also found that bringing Sam into this book provided enough turmoil to also add to the question of: Who is she? and what parts will she play? If you are like me...you hope she may be that elusive soul mate for he who shall not be named. However, the ick of Sam and Everest together was done super well and Chandelle once again had good slightly edge out evil.
Frankie and Everest were two of the most confounding couples to date within the Coven universe and there are so many more answers we need. I enjoyed seeing the push and pull between them as they tried and FAILED to stay away from each other. I also enjoyed how Everest lost his sense of self and his inhibitions when he finally gave into his desire. This book was more adult themed then prior books within the Coven world but I also was DOWN since Vampires are more open with lust and also since Frankie was older than the other main characters inside the main series.
Overall, this book was everything and more for this part of the book series and I cannot wait to explore Frankie's power more now that she will be with the Coven. I am also curious about her familial ties since she is a Proctor! And maybe....how that HAWT bite at the end will translate into a possible mate bond?
Rating: 100+, another hilariously awkward and magical installment of the Coven...are you ready for more??
This was so worth waiting for - with each book Chandelle writes, she keeps proving what a talented author she is. I could not put it down for all the heart-pounding action, adventure, mystery and romantic potential. Can't wait to see how Frankie's gift develops and how the on/off potential romance evolves, but I have my suspicions... Frankie has such a huge learning curve about Tarot and The Coven that I am eagerly awaiting the next book, which is on my Must Buy List.
Red Flag Warning: very impressed with the necessary trigger warnings at the beginning of the book and before potentially traumatic chapters. This book is seriously steamy compared to books in her earlier series, and I am very impressed the author has provided a link for readers who want/need less steam to appeal to a younger audience who also love the Coven series. (See Chandelle's Facebook Post below) Well done, Chandelle!
Facebook Post by Author Chandelle LaVaun: **PLEASE NOTE : THIS BOOK IS VERY SPICE. VERY. it is NOT suitable for young teens. legit this is my spiciest book yet. BUT IF you are a young reader, or have a young reader who is a fan of this series that reads with you (like a kid/grandkid/sibling), OR you're just not a fan of spice then I have some good news for you...I have an ebook version that is PG13. no spice. only 2 F-bombs. To get this version you MUST be subscribed to my Newsletter and purchase the real version on amazon. If you email me with proof of purchase of The Blood Witch (chandelle@chandellelavaun.com) I will send you the download link for the PG13 version. KU does not count for this, must be an actual purchase.
This book is spicier than previous books. If you don't like that, buy it and scroll immediately to the end of the book. There's a PG 13 version you can get from the author. I kinda wish I'd known that from the beginning, since I don't think vampires are sexy, and even the consenting sex is a bit rough.
There is non consensual sex in this book, and some is partially described. Some attacks have a trigger warning, but there are instances a woman's mind is changed by magic. I consider that also rape, and it is described at least once. If that might trigger you, I suggest requesting the PG 13 version.
What I liked: Frankie, Mae Ling, Malik.
What I didn't like: frequent POV departures to unnamed characters who are going to have something bad happen to them. I'm guessing the author expected it to build suspense, or show how bad the bad guys are, or make us care about these random people whose lives are going to blow up. I think it would've been more suspenseful to know there's a guy out there wreaking who knows what havoc but we don't know what.
I also didn't like the Coven treating Frankie with kid gloves. Keeping her in the coma made no sense. Not explaining about magic and the Coven made no sense. And people keep saying she's so strong, but her actual abilities are super weak in this book. I wanted to see her do more for herself.
Overall, I think the Coven is an excellent series, and I plan to keep reading. Vampire fans will likely enjoy it more than I did.
WARNING: this book is Chandelle’s HOTTEST most naughty book of the entire Coven series, thus far. She uses quite a bit of swearing; as well as sexual language, references and imagery which is very different from all but 1 of her other Coven books in the series, to date. And I loved every blood thirsty, sexy page… it was amazing!
But, if you’re not expecting it or aren’t into that sort of no holding back language, since there is absolutely nothing innocent about this one (making it incredibly different from the rest of the Coven series), then you might want to read a few detailed reviews of what happens and skip reading the specifics yourself. But if you can handle the heat, you’ll love it! It’s a wild ride!
That said…
This book is easily in my top 3 favorites of the entire Coven series so far. It is SO HOT and exactly what you’d expect from a kingdom of Vampires who it seems all they do is forcefully abduct, act ferocious towards, feed on non-stop and f*ck their human prey.
Well done Chandelle!
I do wish Frankie had been a little less emotional and stuck in her own head about what was going on around her. I wish she had trusted those who swore to help her more, rather than just take matters into her own hands without a plan.
Only thing I hated was having it end on such a MASSIVE cliffhanger and how I’m stuck waiting until August 2024 to read the next installment. UGH!!!!
Talk about cruel and unusual punishment making us wait so long, lol. I can’t wait for the next one though :D
The beginning felt confusing, was it a coma, a dream, a vision. There was a lack of backstory, so it was hard to tell who the players were and who the good guys were. Frankie had the accident, and I liked how the author summarised it for readers who needed to not feel triggered by the content. The option was a good choice. The story itself felt disjointed at times. More world building would have filled in the blanks and made me appreciate Everest. Their relationship was a bit twisted and Stockholm's syndrome at times despite the sexy interludes. Everest definitely had mommy issues, and Braison shocked me as he was not what I expected at all. The two transformations felt wrong, and they happened so quickly compared to the typical vampire transformation that it did not sit well with me. It must be all those vampire movies I have seen lately. I liked Frankies sharp wit and her sarcastic sense of humour. She is a survivor, and despite no one explaining who she is, she seems to trust the right people most of the time. Braising was sweet and not your typical vampire. Everest definitely had mommy's issues, but who could blame him. I am curious to see how the next book turns out considering the ending of this one. It will be fun to find out.
DNF 8%. Can’t stand when a character wakes, confused and disoriented, then exhaustively recalls every detail of what just happened in the last chapter. Especially when this is implemented in the beginning of chapter two AND three!
Literal copy and pasted segments from chapter one.
I promise, no reader’s attention span is that bad.
And then we’re repeating, in unnecessary detail, the fleeting glimpses of a room we received. Ones that were sufficient enough to set the scene in the second chapter, but we now get every inch and description of the wall color, lights, machinery, and people inside, down to stains on their clothes and their hand placements in sleep.
At this point, I wished she’d just died in the accident, I could not care less.
We have to hear AGAIN about her friend making her hair pink to match the main character’s, which is honestly weird and would freak me out if I woke from a coma to see that.
AND repeating what happened in the prologue. Again!! It’s already been rePEATED!!
And then we reluctantly get to the apparent love interests POV. Not only is it so nonsensical that I had to read the first few paragraphs a few times, but he has a girlfriend.
She sucks, but so does this book. I’m so sick of DNF’ing but this gave me no choice.
A-may-zing!! The things Chandelle puts you through in one of her books can not be categorized! You don't know if you're coming or going. If you want to cry or you want to laugh. I enjoy the emotional rollercoaster, with each book that she puts out.
We finally get to see who Frankie is and more details around her. I enjoyed meeting Everest and the dark and sexy that is him. I could do without the Vampire Queen, Sweyvn.
With so many books in a series, I sometimes find it cumbersome when an author adds in some back story to remind us of some of the plot. Chandelle handled this beautifully! It seemed effortless when some of the characters explained people, things, and events that happened in the previous Coven seasons.
The last few chapters of this book surprised me. I like it when something happens that I didn't see coming.
The coven is growing up, and the spice levels of these books are also going up. So buckle up and get ready to clutch your pearls. There are quite a few gloriously bumpy rides in this book. (Pun intended)
I need answers and more of Everest!! I'm looking forward to getting both in book 2.
I feel like if it isn't already stated somewhere, these are some important things to know. Not in spoiler tag because I think it's important people who are fans of the very YA Coven Series know this prior to reading.
1. This is NOT YA. I have it in my Mature YA/New Adult shelf
2. This falls under Dark Romance. You will be reading on page "interactions" with OW/OM.
3. This story not only starts with a very brutal on page rape, but there is a theme of lack of consent(not just sexual consent) throughout the novel with various characters. The chapters where SA takes place are very kindly marked by the author so you can skip & just get the important context.
4. Like the previous series, we are not just in the heads of our 2 main characters. Thoses chapters will be highly unfun for those who do not like dark romance.
If you read Lexi C. Foss at all, or other authors like her, this series will be fine for you. If you prefer "closed door" romance....this is NOT the book for you.
Happy reading for those who are fine with the above. I really enjoyed the mysteries that are going to be uncovered throughout this series.
The Blood Witch swept me away from the very first page and never let go. Chandelle LaVaun has such a gift for blending heartbreak, magic, and romance into a story that feels larger than life yet deeply personal.
Frankie’s journey—from surviving a devastating accident to being thrust into the vampire kingdom of Avolire—was emotional, intense, and inspiring. I loved how she fought through every challenge with resilience, and how the world around her felt both dangerous and enchanting.
The romance? Absolutely addictive. The brooding vampire seer and Frankie’s fiery strength created that perfect enemies-to-lovers spark—equal parts tension, banter, and genuine heart. Every interaction had me grinning, swooning, or holding my breath.
I also appreciated the author’s care in including trigger warnings at the start of heavier chapters. It made the darker themes easier to navigate while keeping me fully invested in the story.
This book was magical, dark, romantic, and unforgettable. I loved every moment of it, and I’m already desperate for the next installment. Highly recommend to anyone who loves fantasy with a punch of danger and a whole lot of heart.
Chandelle has done it again🩷💜🩷💜🙌 Finally given us a book with Frankie in it!!!
This book can be read on its own BUT, you should definitely start reading all her Coven books 📚to truly understand what is going on. I couldn’t put this book down so I read it in one sitting, I loved the book but didn’t sleep more than 53 minutes before my alarm went off at 5:45 am !!! My students asked me if I was sick because I was quiet 🤫 so instead I told them about this spectacular book and why I was exhausted. I also told some to start reading the series before this book. As always I feel like I’m part of the book, it’s nail biting, little steamy, cannot wait to see what happens next, just sad I have to wait SOOOOO long for the next book.. just love 💕 the vampires 🧛♂️ !! Don’t want to give anything away, YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK 📕 YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!
Chandelle is one of most favorite authors… I love every book she writes… Definitely recommend this book 📖 and the start of a great new AN from Ms. Chandelle!!!
Vampires, witches, double-crossing, intrigue, with a-mazing h-o-t-t spice!!!
As an adult. I loved this supernatural romance. Exactly right up my speed with the right amount of story and spice.
Twists and turns you didn't see coming! Especially if you read the other Coven books. I defintly gasped out loud out of shock at some points. I just love the storytelling! I cannot wait for the next book. I am so excited to see what happens!
This is technically the first book in this series. However, it is not the first book in the Coven universe. You could read this book on its own. However, because of all the world-building, you will enjoy this book 100X more if you have read the whole Coven universe before this.
That being said you need to read this. If you must, go binge all the other books. I did! I read everything in just a few weeks because I could not stop! I own the Kindle and audiobooks now, and have the physical copies on my Xmas list!
Note: this is book two of The Coven: Vampire Magic and part of a larger series of Coven sagas. Read those first. Then you'll be hooked and up to date. Finally we get to meet Frankie our new Tower Card. This book is much spicier than previous books and trigger warnings are listed for your convenience. On that note Frankie and Everest are H0T! In true Chandelle LaVaun style some lingering questions are answered and a ton more arise. These books are amazing and the level of addiction to her storytelling grows with each one. Don't miss the bonus scenes! Every tidbit of info will help you along the journey. I did find this book to be told in a different style from previous Coven books. Not necessarily in a bad way, just different with the flash addition of so many new characters, seemingly irrelevant characters (trust the process, we'll know when the time is right), and much more mature, explicit content.
The Blood Witch was incredible and I devoured it! Whenever I read any of the Coven books I can’t put them down! Don’t talk to me, don’t interrupt me, don’t expect dinner etc
I don’t want to give away spoilers but this story will take you for a wild ride and you’ll be left hanging out for more! It is insanely good and I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
This is a story with Vampires, Witches and a lot more spicy and smexy moments! So much happens in this book. We meet some amazing new characters, we get to find out a lot more about Everest and we finally get to know Frankie who is seriously awesome!
Some of our previous questions are answered but we’re also left with so many new unanswered questions.
I loved this book so much, I’m already rereading it because it was just that good!
This is an awesome urban fantasy series. Greg caster chargers in an action feel the storyline. The battle between good and evil. Lighten dark. The coven is a group of witches that have been selected by heaven to protect man and rule supernatural’s on earth. Back in the day when heaven was created God created the angels and Lilith destroyed eaten by temping Adam and Eve. This is a continueing battle of that story and to get the full story you’ll have to go back and read the first book in this entire group of series. Currently This is the story of the vampires and one particular member of the coven and what’s going on at that particular time in this piece of the puzzle. Read on and see what happens. Never boring always entertaining and always plenty of action.
Just Nope - There was so much sex the plot was lost. There were also more than a few editing issues. Frankie kept doing (over and over) TSTL actions - HUGE assumptions, running down the hall to "find" Everest so he could tell her he loved her (or whatever) or trying to escape - into the Arctic - in a sweater that goes to her knees - Sure. Way more YA and overly emotional than expected. Little to no action, plenty of violence, constant sex toward the end that just wasn't that meaningful. A ton of characters introduced that didn't contribute to the plot. So many lies and "we'll explain if you do what we tell you right now". All of the Azazel chapters were beyond confusing. I guess we make the assumption he was killing everyone after he used them up? Just nope - done with the series.
I wanted to like this book but it just didn't do it for me. There were a lot of inconsistencies that should've been caught during proofreading like his eyes were black then they were green or she was wearing a knee length dress but tripped over it in the next paragraph. And when she said Sam but she was introduced as Samantha. There were more but I can't remember right now. Oh, how did Asmodeous not know or say anything about Frankie being in the Coven when he had been stalking her? It's weird he wouldn't tell Sweyn. A few missing words as well. It was just a weird book all around and didn't jive with other Coven books. It felt very distorted. This one just didn't have the magic of previous books.
