It has been good to encounter Rachel McLean as a new author while being treated for cancer, 5 Chemotherapy &25 Radiotherapy. I really enjoyed The Dorset Detective series in old fashioned parlance a first division series. I have read 3 London (& will read next) but dare I say these are second division yarns. I fear perhaps pressure to meet Publisher Deadlines have resulted in cutting corners, extra information and descriptions are missing, shame still enjoyed reading but..
Loved this mystery. It's a great way to be introduced to London. It made me feel like I was having an intimate introduction to a place that still holds a lot interest to me. The characters were extremely well written in my opinion and relevant to today's society. The story is a very good plot and it makes a change to see the main detective character have a good connection with the main protagonist. I was left thinking of one character being the murderer but glad it was explained since I would have accused the wrong person if it was left to me☺️ Well done
I enjoyed this story as I did the previous two in the series. It's a departure from the usual crime stories from this author, but no less engaging.
Diana and Zaf are tour guides in London and are good at their jobs. A mix-up results in two very different groups being part of a tour... Then, of course, a dead body.
I liked the unravelling of the plot, the eccentric characters and the humour.
Another great mystery series by this author, more humour, less gore, but same great writing. Best part of these books, in addition to the mysteries, are the descriptions of the sights in London since Dianna and Zaf are tour guides.
I listened to this on audiobook format. I think this series is fast becoming a favourite. I found this instalment especially funny and engaging. And we get more insight as to the protagonist’s background history. If you can, listen to the audio version because the narrator is excellent.
I enjoyed this much more than the second book. Diana and Zaf are no longer at each other's throats, which was a distraction, so this book flowed well. The mystery was a good one. I was not sure who did it until the end.
Another great read with a twist, once more, at the end. A great modern mystery story detailing many of the tourist spots in our great capital city, London.
