Cade Richards is the starting forward of the NHL team the Cranes. He’s at the top of his game and scoring like a champ. On a quick trip home, he runs into Iris, the woman he’s spent his adult life striving to be good enough for, the one who holds his heart.
Iris Feldmore’s life is in shambles. Everything she’s worked for has crumbled. Her brother returns home with his best friend—her first love, Cade—in tow. The hockey team gave Cade the nickname of Heartbreaker, and it’s fitting because he broke hers. If she’s honest with herself, she’s never gotten over it.
Now Cade’s back and offering to help her in a way only he can. He’s always known what she needed, yet she’s terrified to let him in. She wouldn’t survive his loss again.
This time, though, something feels different. Their chemistry is off the charts, but she’s been fooled before. After all these years, could everything she’s wanted be in reach?
Or will opening her heart end in another devastating heartbreak?

How do more people not talk about this series??? This book was so good! It was an adult spicy hockey romance book, the first in the Crane Hockey Series. I LOVED this book! It was cute, fun, and I smiled the whole way through it. It was on the short side, so nothing dragged out and I had so much fun with the read! I can already tell I’m going to fly through this series! I highly recommend! It can be a touch cheesy in some areas, but I enjoyed it nonetheless! 4.5 stars!
I kind of enjoyed it and thought it was cute but when Case said he was a virgin and that he saved himself for Iris all these years even though she was with someone else and didn't even talk to him anymore, it was super cringy to me and unrealistic.

Definitely, by far, the worst hockey romance I have ever read. I am very confused as to why it was rated so well on this website. I feel duped.
This book had way too much sex for a book that read like it was written by and written for teenagers. It was like Ellie Wade took every basic and awful hockey romance trope and bundled them all into one book cringe-worthy book.
I took a ton of notes for this review on my e-reader that I am not even going to share because I just want to forget that I ever read this book as fast as possible.
Ellie Wade’s One Pucking Love delivers a hat trick of humor, heat, and heart! Cade, the NHL’s resident heartthrob, is back in his hometown, still hopelessly hung up on his best friend’s sister, Iris—the overachieving lawyer whose life is currently in shambles. Their reunion? Equal parts awkward, adorable, and absolutely electric.
Between bed-sharing (yes, THAT happens), tropical shenanigans, and years of bottled-up feelings, Cade and Iris fumble their way to a love that’s been brewing since forever. No third-act breakup, just two lovable idiots finally figuring out how to communicate. Bonus points for Beckett, the brother/bestie who charms his way into setting up the next book.
If you’re craving something sweet, light, and full of feel-good vibes, this one’s a top pick. With second-chance romance, hockey heat, and all the feels, it’s perfect for puck lovers and romance junkies alike. 🏒❤️
I really struggled to like the FMC. The MMC was way too golden retriever it also annoyed me. The storyline was cute until it wasn’t. I wanted more. Overall, the book was okay. I wouldn’t recommend but I wouldn’t say not to read it, ya know?
Ellie books always bring all the emotions, and this one was no exception. I devoured this story in one afternoon, and I couldn't get enough.
Iris is living the dream she thinks she wants until she discovers her boyfriend isn't who she thought he was, and her job doesn't bring her joy. He brother hockey player Beckett invites her with his team on a vacation to Barbados. Iris needs the reset but originally declined the offer because she can't face Cade, her former best friend and the one who broke her heart. Cade plays on the same team as Beckett and has remained close to her family all these years. Iris has loved Cade for the greater part of 16 years. He is everything she wanted. He just ruined it when he rejected her 8 years earlier.
Cade has been searching for his place since the age of 10. His foster mother, Margaret, took him in and loved him as her own. He befriends Beckett and Iris as a child, and the rest is history. He is known to the team as Heartbreaker because he never gives the ladies a chance. Once in Barbados, though, inhibitions fly like the wind. Iris and Cade end up sharing a room and so much more.
As their relationship grows, so does the hurt they once caused each other. Iris and Cade want to be all in, but there are bumps along the way. I was wrapped up in so many emotions during Cades story. His discovery of self worth snd self love was beautiful. I love that he is vulnerable and shows emotions. Iris is strong and independent but also vulnerable. She wants to be loved fiercely. She isn't afraid to admit what she wants. I am so excited to see what this new series has in store for us!
Iris was madly and deeply in love with Cade her brother’s best friend. At one time she had been extremely close to the two of them. She never thought there could be anything that could separate the three of them. She was happy in Cade’s presence. Iris was fun, confident, and smart—all the things a girl wanted to be. She felt alive. She gave Cade too much power in her head, heart, and life. Iris felt loved in a way that she knew only Cade could provide. Which may be true for right now but not always. She needed to love Iris. Even then, she knew what they had been special.
She felt that connection deep in her bones, in her soul, and in her heart. Iris’s future was Cade Richards. Or at least, she thought it was. That was before. One night. One kiss. One rejection. You read that right he rejected her. That was all it took to shatter everything. He pulled his lips from hers, and with a look Iris couldn’t quite understand, he shook his head and told her no. It couldn’t happen. They couldn’t be. Then he walked out of her life. No explanation or anything.
Everything she thought she knew before, nope! Gone. Now she felt alone and abandoned. He even got her brother when you think about it, it was like in a custody battle that never was. She just slowly faded away. Although she was questioning what she should do next. Iris realized she had put too much credence in what he thought, and she had some decisions to make. She had to rebuild her self-worth from a pile of broken pieces. Second-guessing everything, she no longer trusted herself. She felt obtuse to have been fooled into believing he loved her.
With her innocence shattered, she vowed to be strong without him. She vows to make every aspect of her life exceptional and to excel at all her endeavors. Maybe she wasn’t all the things she thought she was before, but she’d be them now, at least the ones that mattered. One thing was for sure, she’d never allow Cade to hurt her again. That was Iris after a broken heart.
PRESENT What happened was that she became anal-retentive. A place for everything and everything in its place. Law was her new jam which makes sense. Very cut and dry follow the rules you don’t there are consequences, end of story. Do not pass go. Her grades and test scores in high school were exceptional enough to warrant her acceptance into the University of Michigan’s pre-law program. She can’t be certain that her father had nothing to do with her getting into the most prestigious college in Michigan for her undergrad or Harvard Law thereafter.
The man has made quite a name for himself as one of the state's wealthiest and most successful corporate lawyers. He had nothing to do with the rigorous schedule that allowed her to earn her undergraduate degree in three years or the top scores she made in law school. She’s been nothing if not diligent in her education to get there. She worked in one of the best law firms in Michigan, located in Ann Arbor, a mere four miles from the university where she started on her path. The events of that day showed her that she had to prove her worth so no one would ever question it again.
She was reborn into someone who would be great and accomplish incredible things, and everybody who knew her would see it. She would shine so bright, she’d blind them all. At twenty-four years old, the youngest lawyer at the firm. Not her father’s firm either, but her boyfriend, a year that day. The cases she gets are lackluster, at best. Yet she’s won them. She’ll keep winning until the senior partners see her as the asset she is. Shaking her head, she quiets the voices that remind her that the senior partner is her boyfriend, Benjamin Stormberg Junior’s, father.
Benjamin Stormberg Senior didn’t hire her because she’d been seriously dating his son. He brought her on board because he saw her value. However, Ben had forgotten their anniversary so therefore didn't plan anything and told her he had to work late because he was swamped. Can they put off whatever great thing she probably had planned until the weekend? She deflates, but before she leaves his office he tells her how beautiful she looked. Making her feel great because she took extra care that more with her hair and makeup. Which reels her back in.
Meanwhile, her brother texted her trying to get her to go to the bye week with him and Cade’s Hockey team. Yup, her brother, Beckett, is two years older than her and one of the starting forwards for Michigan’s NHL team, the Cranes. They're going to Barbados. She tells him, I have a job. Take the time off. I’m sure you’ve earned it. She rarely gets to see him because of his rigorous schedule. I can’t. Sorry. Yes, you can. Bring that hot slutty secretary of yours. Nancy is not a slut! You’re the one who told me she was! LOL Oh, well. She’s really nice.
So as she left the parking lot, she decided to get a picnic together with wine and take it for their anniversary dinner to Ben. Only to be met with him, doing the only friend she met at the firm her age over his desk, Nancy. He wanted to explain. What? How his junk fell into Nancy's vajayjay. It's self-explanatory. She snatched the pen that her dad gave her from the desk and her framed diplomas from the wall. Iris knows without a doubt that she won’t be returning to her office. She’s done there. Iris decides on Barbados, it sounds good after all.
But first, they must stop by their parents for their anniversary party. Courtesy of Iris herself, from party planning to execution. Beckett Feldmore, her brother is none too happy because he only got a couple of hours of sleep. After all, they are comin’ off a winnin’ streak, they’ll be starting the bye week late by a day. Crybaby much? Cade who doesn’t drink much does suck on Dumb Dumbs something his momma always had on hand, has no sympathy. Cade can only remember all of the good things his parents have ever done for him.
Since he was ten, and taken in by Momma Margaret Richards as a foster, but she kept him as her own. It's the Feldmore’s that provided him the opportunity to learn, have the money, and equipment for hockey growing up. His Momma now has dementia. Bring tissues between reuniting with Iris and saying his goodbyes to his past, lordy it is hard to swallow, but oh so good.

Brief Summary: Cade and Iris and her brother all have grown up together so their friendship has a long history until one day Iris and Cade kiss but Cade turns her down to take it any further. After that day their friendship takes a hit and they both go their separate pathways in life. Iris has a lot of things happen to her to turn her life upside down from where she thought it was going and she makes a decision to forget the past and just have fun and try and heal and this is where our story really begins....
My thoughts:
💔 I felt so horrible that Iris was shot down by Cade when they graduated because I think we can all put ourselves in her shoes 👠 and that right there got me hooked🪝
Iris then goes onto prove herself worthy so she goes and busts her 🍑 to become a lawyer ⚖️ but all I know is she chose a lawyer because her father is a lawyer but she doesn't have many interactions with her father so I would have liked a little more backstory as to why she chose to follow her father 🤷♀️
As far as Cade goes, he doesn't feel worthy of Iris' love due to his past which I cannot relate to but I felt like I understood him. His POV really made me understand where he was coming a bit more so bravo 👏 for the author for that ☺️
I loved that Iris decided to throw caution ⚠️ to the wind 💨 and go on the teams vacation. I think it allowed her to not only escape but heal from her cheating ex🌴🌴🌴
Cade and Iris sharing a bed 🛏.....I mean, we all know where that's going to go 🥵🥵 but I am glad that Iris finally decided to get out of her head a little bit and take a chance 😝
When they both discovered that for years they had miscommunicated and if they had only talked it out then it would have saved them a lot of heartache....yes👏👏👏!! And then when there was a little miscommunication afterwards but it was quickly squashed and that alone showed how much the characters had grown which was just.....🤗
There is some hockey 🏒 play and it actually seems like the author knows what she's talking about. I know some of these hockey books you can read and there is either no hockey playing even though the MMC is a "hockey player" or it's clear the author has never watched hockey and those books are disappointing but there is no disappointment with this book 💙💙
It was good to see that the brother🧍♂️ played a big role in the book but not so big that it felt like he was intruding on the story. I mean it is brothers best friend so I'm glad he was in there too and it gives a nice set up for the next book📘
I think there were parts at the end that dragged a bit for me but I absolutely loved the epilogue and that's why I gave the ending a 4/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🚨SPOILER ALERT🚨 I left this for the end, when I say that I gasped 🫢 when I found out the MMC was a v*rg*n but when he said why he was it just melted my heart 🫠and that alone earned the 4⭐️s! I don't know why this surprised me so much but I didn't see this coming like I normally can predict in books👏
Overall this book was a wonderful read and I would recommend it to others❤️💙💘

One Pucking Love (Crane Hockey #1) by Ellie Wade is a gripping and heartfelt second-chance romance that completely captivated me from the first chapter. If you’re a fan of steamy hockey romance with emotional depth, this book is an absolute must-read!
The story follows Cade Richards, the starting forward for the Crane Hockey team, who is on top of his game, scoring goals and living his dream. However, when he returns home for a quick visit, he runs into Iris Feldmore, the woman he’s never been able to forget. Cade and Iris share a complicated past, with Cade earning the nickname of “Heartbreaker” on his team for breaking Iris’s heart years ago. Now, after all this time, their paths cross again—and the chemistry between them is undeniable.
Iris, whose life has been unraveling, is understandably hesitant to let Cade back into her life. She’s been hurt before, and she fears the emotional toll of loving him again. But Cade seems determined to help her, in a way only he can. As they reconnect, the tension between them is off the charts, but Iris is torn between opening her heart and protecting herself from further heartbreak.
What I loved most about One Pucking Love is how Ellie Wade perfectly balances sizzling romance with emotional depth. Cade and Iris are both strong characters with their vulnerabilities, and their journey from heartbreak to healing is both poignant and steamy. The chemistry between them is electric, and the slow-burn romance kept me eagerly turning pages to see what would happen next.
Iris is a relatable heroine, struggling with the collapse of everything she’s worked for, and her emotional journey resonates. Cade, despite his “Heartbreaker” reputation, is a genuinely caring and vulnerable hero who has never gotten over Iris. Their dynamic is complex and layered, making their second chance at love feel so rewarding to witness.
The pacing of the story is perfect, with just the right amount of tension, drama, and heartfelt moments. The romance is steamy without feeling rushed, and the emotional stakes keep you invested in their journey throughout. The secondary characters are also a great addition to the story, adding depth and setting up what looks to be an exciting series with the Crane Hockey team.
Overall, One Pucking Love is a perfect blend of passion, emotion, and second-chance love. It’s a beautifully written sports romance that had me rooting for Cade and Iris from start to finish. If you love swoon-worthy hockey players, steamy chemistry, and emotional romance with a happy ending, this book is a must-read. I’m already looking forward to the next book in the Crane Hockey series!
I liked the story of Cade and Iris, we have two friends who liked each other but didn't tell each other their feelings until one of them takes the step and well, we know more or less how they end it, they distance themselves in a way that even though Cade is her brother's best friend and his teammate has no relationship with him, Iris just wants to forget him and by doing so she leaves their friendship aside.
When they meet again, it's like nothing happened and believe it or not, I liked it because when you read both of their points of view and their whole story, you understand everything completely. I thought there would be a big drama about him being his brother's best friend, but no, the little misunderstanding they had was easily resolved and their relationship became even stronger. Now there is one thing that I tell you that I take off base, in a good way, and it has to do with Cade, well if I tell you it counts as a spoiler so read the book, get to that part and then tell me if you were shocked too because I didn't see it coming jajajaja
It was a good story, a new author for me and I know it won't be the last time I read something from her because I'm already looking forward to the second book in this series.
Thanks to the author and Enticing Journey Book Promotions for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review!!

This book grabbed my attention right away. It is such an easy read. This is a story of Iris and Cade. Cade and Iris grew up together. Iris brother Beckett Befriended Cade. He was in foster care and they became very close. He got him into hockey they now both play for the Cranes organization.
Iris is a lawyer at her boyfriends dads firm. She could have worked at her dads but wanted to earn her way. On her one year anniversary with her boyfriend Ben she goes back to the office to surprise him because he had to work late. She find him cheating with the secretary. She then decides it’s time to go home to her parents house. She dives into planning her parents anniversary party. Which of course she goes all out. The cake gets messed up and Cade helps her to fix it by getting cupcakes with a flower on each cupcake. Just like the cake had.
Cade and Iris have not seen each other in 8 years since he broke her heart. Beckett convinces Iris to go to Barbados with his hockey team for a week. For their bye week before hockey gets intense. Turns out there is not enough rooms so Cade and Iris have to share a room. At first Cade sleeps on the couch down stairs. But Iris realized he was getting no sleep and offers to share the bed. After that things start to heat up during their week on vacation.
When they get home they both think that the other didn’t want anything because they never talk about what happens while I’m Barbados. Cade becomes busy with hockey and Iris switches career paths. Thanks to her brother talking to the cranes about hiring Iris to plan events for the Cranes. Becket helps Iris realize that they both have feelings for each other. Cade and Iris then talk about what happened as well as all of their insecurities. They are very open and honest with one another. Iris is there to support Cade through the visits with his mom who has memory loss and is in a home. Who later on passes away. Their love has bumps but with each other they are able to get through it and love one another. Cade has insecurities that Iris helps him work through to love himself. While Iris admits what she wants and goes after it. Mr heart breaker, is no longer a Heartbreaker.
This love story is captivating and definitely worth the read. Can’t wait to read the rest in the series!!

A huge, glaring "faux pas" stood out to me in the first chapter. From there I knew this book probably wouldn't be for me. Iris looked in the mirror on her way out of her office in order to describe herself. (Authors, if you're writing in first person, please find other ways to describe the character's appearance!) It might seem trifling, but as a writer myself I tend to notice both the spectacular things and the cringe things authors do in their books.
I'm not spoiling anything to say Ben (the ex) is a total a-hole from the jump and even with little more information about Iris, it's hard to see someone who worked her way all the way through law school in a relationship with a man who doesn't prioritize her.
The characters were hard to connect with. Because of some of her early choices, Iris seems kind of ditzy and Cade (and frankly, the other members of the team) don't seem to have a whole lot of substance. Only Iris's and Beck's parents seemed sufficiently developed, and they were side characters.
Without connecting to the characters in the story, it made their... How do I put this? Their smut-fest nonsensical. Let me say this: There is a lot of sex in this book. And it's not even good sex. It is, shall we say, very one-sided. Especially for two people who have held a torch for one another for as long as these two have.
This brings me to another point, which is that I am a very emotional person (and reader) and I didn't really feel anything about the moment that had originally torn Iris and Cade apart. We had too little exposition on their previous relationship to understand why this one kiss affected Iris as much as it did. At no point did the story give me feelings about who they had been before they had their second chance together.
Needless to say, I did not enjoy this book.
I received this book as part of the Romance Reveal Box. Of the six books they sent me, I have so far read 4 and found each of them disappointing in different ways. I have canceled my subscription. However, I believe it only fair to note that my feelings about the subscription box choices may have impacted my enjoyment of this book.
This is the first Hockey Romance book I've read and while I cannot say I enjoyed this book, I will give this genre another try. I can certainly see the appeal.
***ARC REVIEW*** Name: One Pucking Love Author: Ellie Wade Rate: 4.75/5 🌟
~Ellie Wade is known to bring all types of emotions out of you, so always make sure you have a box of tissues with you when reading one of her books!!! I enjoyed this book, even though it made me cry a bit… The love and friendship between the main characters is just beautiful because no matter what they know they can always count on each other. Cade was a foster child when he was young which he kept jumping from foster home to foster home till he was blessed with the right one! He met Beckett who introduced him to hockey. He then met Beckett younger sister Iris which is when they became the bestest friends ever!!! Cade and Iris always felt something for each other since they started to grow up together but they were so young they just didn’t want to bother with it till that one day!!!!! Cade and Beckett became NHL Players… While Iris became a Lawyer. After years passed Iris enjoyed her job till her boyfriend was caught and broke her heart. This made her go back home to her parents’ house. Beckett and Cade go back home also before the trip they take with the team. After years of not seeing or talking to each other Cade sure starts to bring up old feelings that he had for Iris back out! Things between them started to get a little hot from friends to lovers!!! Their love story will have you for sure in a rollercoaster ride of emotions!!! You have been warned! Wink Wink! I sure can’t wait for the next story which will involve Beckett love story I hope!!!
This cute story about best friends losing each other for a while and then finding their way back to each other.
Iris has just been betrayed in the worst way. She left her cheating boyfriend, her job and is trying to figure out what to do with her life. She's been a little lost ever since her best friend broke her heart 8 years ago. And now that friend wants to help her clear her head and what better way to do that than spending a week in paradise.
Cade has loved Iris since they were kids. But his insecurity made him do things that hurt her, not that he understood how much until they reconnected. Now the time has come for the two love birds to take a shot at love and hope everything will work out. There are a few developments that came as a surprise and I'm not mad about it. When you read it you'll understand since it's a nice change for once.
This is my first book by the author and it will definitely not be my last. I'm looking forward to reading how her crazy brother come to his own HEA next.

This book is absolutely captivating. The friendship between iris, Beckett, and Cade is beautiful. Cade being a foster child and Beckett bringing him in and befriending him. And iris being just as close. Iris had a pretty crappy boyfriend and runs back home and BAM. Cades there. Stunned and shocked because she when they were younger confessed her feelings and attempted to kiss him only to be rejected. Does he still feel the same? Are they even still truly friends? Iris agrees to go on the hockey teams Barbados Bye week trip considering she quit the job she had at her now exs law firm and has nothing else to do. She also gets there realizing she has to share a room with Cade. And then tension between them two!!! Spicyyyyy. I love a good brothers best friend romance and this story was absolutely amazing and heart warming!! I love the team and the way they all care about each other, and I just can’t wait to read Becketts story now!!
Great story about her brother's best friend. Iris has loved Cade since they met as children. He was not only her brothers friend but hers too. Until Iris gets brave and tells Cade how she feels about him. They even kissed for the first time. But Cade had rejected her, and she's been broken hearted ever since. Years later, Iris is living the life she wanted , she works with her boyfriend until she finds him with his secretary. She immediately finds herself in her hometown since she quit her job after the emotional damage she endured. Now, she no longer wants to become a lawyer. She has no clue what is in store for her, though. She decides to go with her brother and the hockey team on vacation. where she and Cade have to share a bed. She tries to avoid him as much as possible until finally he wants her. I love how Iris and Cade start to rekindle their relationship by becoming besties again. How they both find out they were always meant for each other.
Cade and Iris’ story is a wonderful and twisty journey that starts in childhood and I love a good friends-to-lovers romance. This one however (and thankfully) doesn’t start in childhood or even their teen years, though we do get a glimpse into the early stages of this blooming love story. Cade is Iris’ brother’s best friend but for many years he was also her best friend and you can really feel that when they enter each other’s lives again as adults. There isn’t a lot of proclaiming to be best friends, but the evidence is there in nicknames, memories and shared inside jokes. The surprise virgin twist was sweet and totally unexpected, but like any virgin once the proverbial dam broke, it was all systems go. All. The. Time. I had a good time reading this story and I loved the best friend and brother, Beckett. He’s charming but surprisingly insightful and I’m looking forward to reading his story next.
They were friends for most of their lives. Iris, Cade and Iris´s brother. They were close and the older they became Iris felt a little more than just friendship. But one evening, one moment had her move on the other way. And now years later, when her life is turned upside down, she questions her whole life. That is when Cade returns into her life. And one thing is clear, they still have a connection AND attraction. This time things move on forward. But with Cade´s troubled past and the resulting issues nothing is as easy. We have dual points of views, which really helped to understand the characters and their ways. There were so many emotions in many different directions, but a big love waiting at the end of the road.
On a trip home, Cade runs into Iris, his best friend’s little sister. Iris’s life however hasn’t been all sunshine and roses since they last talked. Iris just quit her job as a lawyer and broke up with her cheating ex all in one day. After party planning for her parents, Iris agrees to go on their byweek trip and ends up having to be roommates with Cade.
I hate to say it, but I’m so glad this is over. This book truly was way overhyped on TikTok. I listened to BookTok and it sadly led me astray.
I was not impressed with the quality of writing on this book. Additionally all 🌶️ scenes were tragically written. It took everything in me to finish this book. I feel like the entire book was so cliche. I honestly don’t even want to tell you all the things I disliked in this book, because I want to forget it.
TW because I was not warned: dementia, death of a parent
Tropes: + Hockey Romance + Brothers Best Friend + Changing Careers
Iris life is in shambles and everything she has worked for has crumpled. She is invited to vacation with her brother and his NHL hockey team which also has her childhood best friend and first love on it. Cade is considered the “heartbreaker” on his team but the only girl he has time for is the one who he always strived to be enough for. After all these years, they are either going to get everything they wanted or have their hearts crushed.
I adore a good hockey romance and love seeing the team banter and dynamic and Ellie hit the nail on the head with this one. It gave me everything I needed to become fully invested in this team and fall in love with different aspects of each player. Cade is such a sweetheart and I absolutely adore him. His and Iris’s story is so sweet and they grew into who the other needed. Cade has my heart and now Wade has my money because I just want to keep reading more and more about this team.
This is my first Ellie Wade book. It's also my first hockey romance. And I am not disappointed in either!
I will definitely be reading as many of this author's books as I can get my hands on!
I read immersively - with both physical the book and the audiobook at the same time.
With several tropes represented, the characters were well developed! Best friend's sibling, second chance romance, childhood sweethearts, and first physical love are the ones on the tip of my tongue.
Cade, a professional hockey player, and Iris, the little sister to Beckett, also an NHL player and Cade's best friend are the main characters.
While hockey might be played on ice, there's nothing cold about Cade and Iris' attraction: spicy-spicy! I'd say 3-4 🌶️🌶️🌶️-🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️, but very well written.
Like I said, I will definitely read more! I highly recommend this if you're in the mood for some well written plot, fun, and spice!
This is the first in a news series, and this is Cade and Iris’s story. Iris’s life in in shambles, who had her heart broken by her brother’s best friend and teammate when they were younger. Cade is the starting forward for an NHL team, and is at the top of his game, while he has earned himself the nickname of “Heartbreaker”. Cade has never felt he was good enough for Iris, and when he comes home, he crosses paths with Iris. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and undeniable, but can they have a happily ever after? This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, heartbreak, humor, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, insecurities, secrets, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining, fun, and steamy page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I loved how sweet and adorable Cade and Iris’ love story was and how they’d been in love with each other for so long. I loved everything leading up to them getting together, even if it was a bit fast paced. I loved it all! Such a great read by @authorelliewade definitely go check this out! I can’t wait for One Pucking Wish to come out. I am definitely buying it to complete my collection. I have both physical copies of One Pucking Love and One Pucking Heart, but I read both of these books on Kindle Unlimited, because I didn’t want to mess up my signed copies lol. 😂🩵 🤍 #contemporaryromance #sportsromancebooks #hockeyromance #hockeyromancebooks #authorelliewade #elliewade #onepuckinglove #onepuckingloveelliewade
For those who have a penchant for a blend of spice, romance, and the thrill of hockey, coupled with the allure of second chances, this novel will capture your heart. Iris, initially portrayed as a character with unwavering strength and certainty, faces a tumultuous upheaval that compels her to redefine her very essence. Cade, plagued by insecurities, believes himself unworthy of affection and prosperity, thus denying himself the very things he deserves. Observing their journey as they navigate through their self-doubts to find their way back to each other, and continue to face challenges, is profoundly moving. The narrative weaves together love, humor, and zest with finesse. Ellie's storytelling prowess shines through, leaving readers eagerly anticipating the next installment in this captivating series.
I am in love! I loved every minute of this book. It was a perfect blend of angst and pain and love and joy and I was just in my feelings, both good and bad. Cade and Iris are precious and I will take no criticisms on them ever. Enemies to lovers is one of my top favorite tropes but friends to lovers is worming it’s way into my heart more and more each time I read a new one. And this book is further helping it infiltrate my heart. I loved their dynamic and ease and their communication. Nothing irks me more than miscommunication but you know, for the plot - it’s a sacrifice one needs to take, so it always nice when it doesn’t happen 😁 There was their sad moment that had me in tears feeling their pain but together, they can handle anything. I cannot wait for the next book 🥰
I was asked to read this ARC for my honest review. If you love spice, romance, hockey, and second chance romances then this is the book for you. Iris starts out as a strong knowing character and then has her world jerked out from under her making her completely reinvent who she is at her core. Cade fueled by insecurities thinks he is not good enough for the love of people or good things denying himself things he is more than worthy of. Watching these two work through their insecurities to come back to one another and still have to work thru things is wonderful. The love, the fun, and the spice is all there. Ellie is a masterful storyteller and I cannot wait to read the next story in the series.
