How to Write Fiction: An Irreverent Guide to Writing and Self-Publishing Your Novel

Rate this book
There comes a time when any author needs to pause in the creative task of writing to think about the how of developing, polishing, and maybe even trying to publish the words they have put onto pages. This book provides that pause. And then provides such eclectic and unprofessional advice as to cause harm to one's trade. For this reason, we, the authors of this back cover, highly recommend finding a different "how to write" book this is better written, provides better advice, and is probably cheaper. It won't be as funny, but this one only offers a laugh or two and that is not worth the time.

As one fictional reviewer put "If these authors had never heard of bowling, never lifted a ball, never played a sport with round objects, and were missing all ten fingers, they would still be better bowlers than writers of how-to books."

As "The Fictional Times" "We laughed repeatedly while reading this book. Not because it was funny, but from the lack of editing paired with the delusional hubris of these authors. Read this at your own peril. Or to see how really poor writing and really crappy advice looks like."

Is it strange to edit a book about editing and format a book about formatting. Not sure what convinced me to write a book about writing. It sort of happened by accident. I enjoy reading about writing as inspiration to write, but usually hate the advice. So, here is really bad advice, or at least untrained, unproven, unworthy advice. It might have been more fun to write than it will be to read, but you should buy the book, read it in full, and then let me know if my theory was correct. Thanks.
