Are you afraid of the dark..?
Young advertising executive Gemma is hard-working, clever and compassionate. She loves to go hiking in her free time. Fresh air, gorgeous locations and serene isolation offer her a perfect break... Until a brutal assault leaves her dumped, left for dead, deep underground...

Every route taken threatens disaster – from pitfalls to the risk of becoming lost forever. Gemma has no idea if there really is a reachable exit. Crawling and searching saps her stamina. Pain, hunger and thirst weaken her further. Dead ends and despair erode her will to live and challenge her sanity...
And what’s worse than being wounded, lost and all alone in the dark?
Discovering she isn’t alone after all.
Because somewhere in the dread darkness there is a shrieking, hunting abomination.

Incredible Tale of Subterranean Survival
This story was so claustrophobic there were places I was almost willing to give up and not read any more, but the reward is worth the read. Ian Thompson is merciless to Gemma, his protagonist, as she crawls her way to possible survival in the dark depths of the Earth.
Beaten, broken, and battered, Gemma has to face physical, emotional, and mental challenges to continue toward a cave exit that may or may not exist.
And to make matters worse, she isn’t alone in the darkness and whatever it is, is quite deadly.
