Though this book is specifically about how the author started her own nursing staffing agency, the lessons she shared could easily be applied to starting any other business. Honestly, I'd never thought about all these things you'd have to take into consideration when starting your own business. I really appreciated her specific description of how she went on Indeed, searched for RN openings, and from there calculated how much she could potentially make, using hours worked per week and salary paid per hour. Very interesting! Not to mention the book is short and sweet and written in a conversational and easy to read style. I'd recommend this book for anyone looking to start their own business.

I always admire professionals and degree holders who do not only limit themselves into working for other people but also find time to discover their own success by investing on themselves. In Five Steps: A Proven Formula for Launching a Successful Healthcare Staffing Agency written by Nicole Caillier Ph.D., we learn about the author's journey on how she went from working as a nurse to building a healthcare staffing system which really worked in her advantage. This book was very inspiring and although I have no plans to pursue the health care route, this opened up my eyes that there is no such thing as impossible if you want to invest in your career and take it to the higher level. The book was very straight-forward and easy to understand which made me feel totally connected to it and learn a lot from it as a whole.
