I love the 'IceCats' series. Really, any hockey book Toni writes is good for me. Tennessee and Dart were magical together and you could really feel the connection between them.

This novel is 5th in the Ice Cats series, but it's a contender for my favorite of the series (okay, Nico's story - Wild Tendy - still is my fav 💖). It is not necessary to read the series in order to appreciate this one...however, it does add to the enjoyment as some of the prior characters pop up. Why not read them all...there is no downside as all of them are good.

This story is not as heavy as some of the others which dealt with mental health issues. This one is centered on D'Artagnan (Dart, for short), a hockey player, both on and off the ice. He is a loyal friend and a doting big brother, but is just a good time guy with the ladies. So when he meets a woman in the hotel bar and shares a few shots of tequila before his best friends' wedding, he's not expecting to be blown away. Tennie (short for Tennessee - her parents are Vols fans 🧡) is celebrating a new job, soon to be in a new state. So when they part it's up to Fate to bring them together again - and oh my, Fate has all kinds of ideas about these two. Be sure to have a fan handy. Tennie and Dart are so, so hot. But as they part ways, it's unclear if there is a future for them and they agonize over each other for the next few months. As I said before, Fate has all kinds of ideas - and when they do come back together, it is ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 - Dart is nothing if not persistent and he has all sorts of wicked ideas to keep her entertained.

Ms Aleo knows what her readers like - hot players, spunky heroines, and steamy scenes that will have you reaching for a long cool drink to quench the fire. Dart is cocky and confident in his love for Tennie. This did not ping my insta-love radar - because although there is insta-lust, he has to take his time to woo Tennie into a longterm relationship. Tennie is an adorable plus size heroine. She is plucky and stands up for herself. Together they are on fire, but I don't mind burning when it's so much fun.

You know how some books just hit you differently than others, well this one did that for me. I was charmed by this couple from the start. Loved how they let "fate" decide and boy did fate decide for them. They were smoking hot from the start, which is why Tennie did what she did in the aftermath. You could tell she wasn't brave enough to trust what happened was real, so she backed away. Sadly this left Dart pining for Tennie and even when he made one last ditch effort to talk to her before trying to use another woman to get Tennie out of his head.

Normally this behavior would totally bother me. But these two only had a one night stand, fantastic though it was, and pretty much no communication after. Tennie even dated someone, or was trying to. The thing that I really liked was how after they came back together, neither one held these people against the other, or any past people. Sure Dart had issues with Troy, but only because he was trying to hold on to Tennie, not so much that he had been with her while they were separated.

The other thing that I really loved about these 2 was how when people in their lives found those soft spots and dug in, poke, poke, poking them, hurting them, the other was there to lift them up, pretty much saying "fuck them!" You are wonderful and I love you! Everyone needs someone like this in their lives!

I really liked the ending! Loved that these 2 were just living their best lives, work was great for them, their relationship was great, they were building something special with those that they let in their lives and having so much fun doing it all!

POV: Dual
Spice: 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️

I was not prepared for this book! It was more heartbreaking than expected and maybe the steamiest of all Toni's books, but still includes all the things I would expect from her, like the real characters with real problems, friends turned family, and her brand of humor.

I will be honest, there was a part of this book that I wasn't sure I would be able to get through, and I read it really fast, because one thing my heart cannot handle is a detailed description of when the two main characters are a part and especially if that includes seeing other people. Luckily, the gap isn't that long, and when Tennessee and Dart eventually do get back together, they are absolutely crazy for each other in the best of ways! And really, the gap shouldn't have even hurt me as much as it did seeing as it was after a one night stand, but that's just how real their connection felt from that one night. Besides both Tennie and Dart's questionable decisions in their love life, I really liked both of them as characters. I loved Tennie's confidence in her plus size self, and how hard Dart loves and his sense of humor. I would say these two were both sunshine/sunshine, and the only grumps to be found were the villains (looking at you Troy and Lindy)!

As a country fan, I loved how this was loosely based off the song Tennessee Orange, except she wears red for him and for hockey! I was so glad to be back in the Icecats world, and Tennie and Dart are the perfect addition to that family.

I am back with another thrilling read, and this time, we're diving into the fiery world of hockey romance with Toni Aleo's "Hat Trick." The fifth installment in the Ice Cats series takes readers on an unforgettable journey filled with passion, humor, and the sweetest moments of love.

D'Artagnan Miklas, affectionately known as Dart, is a charming and charismatic hockey player, always living life to the fullest. With his friends finding love one after the other, Dart begins to wonder if he'll ever find the one who'll make his heart race. Fate intervenes in the form of Tennessee Dent, a strong-willed and confident woman who enters Dart's life in a chance encounter at a hotel bar.

The beauty of this story lies not just in the scorching chemistry between Dart and Tennie but in the genuine characters Toni Aleo crafts. In the midst of all the sizzling romance, Aleo skillfully touches on real-life issues, making the characters relatable and three-dimensional. Tennie, a plus-size heroine, embraces her curves with confidence, and Dart, while being the ultimate charmer, proves that real men appreciate women for who they are on the inside and out.

What sets "Hat Trick" apart is the undeniable connection between the two characters. Aleo masterfully conveys their longing, hesitation, and eventual surrender to their feelings. It's a rollercoaster of emotions that leaves readers breathless, cheering for this passionate couple.

As the book unfolds, we see the return of some familiar faces from the Ice Cats series, adding depth and nostalgia to the story. Owen, in particular, steals the spotlight with his unwavering support and hilarious banter. The camaraderie among the Ice Cats is heartwarming, reminding us that love extends beyond the ice. It made me yearn to reread the whole series once again :)

While "Hat Trick" packs plenty of steamy moments, it also delivers heart-wrenching scenes that will tug at your emotions. The characters face challenges that test their love, but their resilience and determination to overcome obstacles make their journey all the more satisfying.

With its memorable characters, authentic storytelling, and sizzling passion, Hat Trick is an absolute must-read for any fan of the genre. Whether you're new to the Ice Cats series or a longtime follower, you're in for a treat. Get ready to fall in love with Dart and Tennie as they score a hat trick of their own in the game of love.

Would I recommend this book: Yes
Would I re-read this book: Done that already :)
Would I read future books by this author: Yes

Books by this author are a guilty pleasure read, I am looking to escape for a while into a story, and just enjoy. Hat Trick and the Ice Cats do all this and more. Dart or D’Artagnan is our hero, hockey player, ladies’ man; he is the leading scorer on and off the ice and best friend with charisma to burn. Tenn is his opposite, a recent college grad wanting to find herself. A meeting in a hotel bar, a case of mistaken keys, and one great night. Is this meant to be? Will they cross paths again?

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

This story was so incredibly beautiful! I loved the characters and cameos. The spicy level was a bit higher than usual, but holy cow it was so freaking good! In today’s book finding characters with imperfections become fewer and fewer but Toni Aleo highlights those imperfections perfectly.

5 star Review Hat Trick (Ice Cats #5)by Toni Aleo

I enjoy Toni Aleo’s style of writing and was totally invested in the story that she wove about D’Artagnan Miklas (aka Dart)and Tennessee Dent (aka Tennie). This was a well written and entertaining story that had me fully invested from the first chapter

Meeting Dart meets Tennie they share a passionate night, one that neither Dart cannot forget. I fell hard for Dart, such a swoon worthy, passionate man with a softer side which he isn’t afraid to show.

One of the things I really admire about Ms.Aleo’s writing is that she is not afraid to show her characters with flaws. It makes her stories so realistic and easy to relate to. It was also great to see familiar faces pop up whilst reading.

Hat Trick is full of heat and love and characters whose story you cannot help but be drawn to.

This is the 5th book in Toni’s Ice Cats hockey series, but this is the first book I have read by her. AND WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG! I loved this book so much!!

This story follows D’Artagnan (Dart) and Tennessee. Dart is a hockey player, ladies’ man; he is the leading scorer on and off the ice and best friend with charisma to burn. Tennessee is his opposite, a recent college grad wanting to find herself. A meeting in a hotel bar, a case of mistaken keys, and one great night has Tennessee running away after their encounter. However, fate has other plans for them.

This book was so cute and spicy. I could not put it down. Tennessee was such a strong confident FMC. She embraces her curves and shows them off to her advantage.
Then there is Dart. I just loved how obsessed he became with Tennessee after their encounter. He loves her for who she is and worships her. She is one hundred percent his baby doll.

I am definitely going to go back and read more of this series and some more on Toni’s backlist. She is definitely a new favorite of mine for hockey! Thank you Toni for sending me a copy!

4.25 stars-HAT TRICK is the fifth instalment in Toni Aleo’s contemporary, adult ICECATS erotic, hockey romance series, a spin off from the author’s Nashville Assassins series. This is Carolina IceCats leading scorer D’Artagnan ‘Dart’ Miklas, and Tennessee ‘Tenn’ Dent’s story line. HAT TRICK can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information form the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Dart and Tenn) HAT TRICK follows in the wake of a one-night stand between our leading couple. Twelve hours but no proclamation of more, Dart and Tenn went their separate ways but it was Dart who struggled in the aftermath when Tennessee Dent ghosted our story line hero. Fast forward three months, when Tennessee Dent is hired as one of the new physio-therapists for the Carolina IceCats, a position that will bring her up close and personal with the man whose heart she destroyed but all is not as is appears to be when Tennessee proclaims she is in a relationship with someone else but has never forgotten about our story line hero. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship between Tennessee and Dart, and the potential fall-out as the people left behind are capable of doing more damage than good.

The world building continues to focus on the members of the Carolina IceCats. We are up close and personal with Dart Miklas’ questionable childhood, and his need to protect his younger sister; and Tennessee Dent’s mother’s need to remain close with the people from her daughter’s past. Tennessee has always struggled with her weight and her size, and she was quick to discover that the people in her life will use her weight to destroy her heart.

The relationship between Tenn and Dart begins as a one night stand, a twelve hour affair from which Dart struggles to move on, and Tenn appears to leave in the past. For months Dart struggles to reconnect with the woman of his fantasies and dreams, but Tennessee has moved on with someone else. Working with the Carolina IceCats brings Tenn and Dart back together, a move that may threaten Tenn’s position going forward. The $ex scenes are erotic and provocative.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including several members of the Caroline IceCats, as well as Tennessee Dent’s former friends, ex-boyfriend, her parents, and Dart’s mother, and his sister Sabine. As Dart battles for custody of his sister, his mother proves that not all women are capable of nurturing or love.

HAT TRICK is a story of second chances; of friendships and family, of relationships and love. The premise is entertaining, captivating and enjoyable; the romance is seductive and fated; the characters are desperate, determined, sassy and fun.

Part of the Ice Cats series, in which each book is a standalone, this is D’Artagnan’s story and what a story it is!!
Dart is a typical young, hot shot NHL player who’s good at scoring - both on and off the ice! Tennessee is a new college graduate, looking to spread her wings and find herself; and, to do that, she has to leave her hometown to get out from under the shadow of her ex best friends. Neither of them expect, nor necessarily want, to find love but fate has other plans for them!
Their first meeting is over shots of tequila, in a hotel bar, at 10am. Inexplicably drawn to one another, they flirt outrageously but Dart has to leave as he has important wedding duties to attend to - they are both on each other’s minds though.
Their second meeting is completely by accident (or fate! 😉) and it is absolutely explosive, leading to one night of the most incredible sex and an intense connection, the likes of which neither have ever experienced with anyone else before. Dart realizes he wants so much more with Tennie than one night and tries to contact her but … for the first time ever, he’s been ghosted and he doesn’t know why. Tennessee had also been blown away by their connection and it scares her something stupid! So she does her best to focus on her career and tries to forget about Dart.
3 (painful!) months pass before fate brings them back together and, this time, Dart will not let Tennie get away again. With his considerable charm, his innate sexiness and his sheer determination, Tennessee has no hope of resisting and they finally get their HEA.
Do they have a few large (and sometimes awkward!) obstacles to overcome? Of course they do! But this gives the reader a chance to see these 2 beautiful characters grow and evolve, while they learn to travel the sometimes rocky road to love. 💕 Is there a lot of hot sex in this book? Heck yes, there is and I loved it! 🔥 There is sexy banter, breath stealing sweetness, some heartache and, as always in Toni Aleo’s books, So. Much. Love. The love the MC’s find in each other. The love between best friends/teammates, who are more like family, who accept you as you are and will always - undoubtedly - stand up for you and yours. The love of author for the characters she has created and the world she has built for her readers to escape to; and the love of the reader as you drown in the pages of the story that is D’artagnan and Tennessee ❤️

This book five in the Ice Cats series and Toni Aleo is not letting up on the steam and the dream. Dart (D'Artagnan) has been watching his teammates and friends fall in love and is starting to wonder if it will ever happen to him. While in Nashville for Angie and Owen's wedding. he spends an unforgettable night with Tennessee Dent and instantly knows she is it for him. Tennessee isn't interested in long distance and since she will not be in SC when the Dart and the Ice Cats are, she just keeps moving forward....until three months down the road when her company is employed by none other than the Ice Cats hockey team.
It's evident during their first meeting at the Ice Cats' practice facility that they both have lingering feelings and while Dart is ready to jump in head first, Tennessee is much more hesitant. It's inevitable though and these two have chemistry that is out of this world which just can't be stopped.
There is so much to love about Hat Trick and let's start with Tennessee. She is a strong confident woman who know her worth and isn't afraid to remind you of it. She loves her Vols and anyone that can commit to orange as much as she does should be recognized. She embraces her curves and shows them off to her advantage (and to Dart's pleasure!) and finally, I can almost hear the way she says the name D'Artagnan with a bit of a Tennessee lilt and am so glad she prefers that over DART.
Then there is D'Artagnan, so sure of himself and what he is feeling, he is absolutely unapologetic when he proclaims his love for Tennessee. He loves her for who she is on the inside and worships what she is on the outside. She is one hundred percent his baby doll.
As an added bonus, we get to see some of our favorite Ice Cats (I'm talking about you, Owen) as they get to give Dart a hard time, but all from a place of love. Among some of the great lines I highlighted in the book was this one from Owen after Tennessee's ex boyfriend dares to talk negatively about her body :
“As a fellow lover of the Thicker than a Snicker Girl Club, I, for one, don’t appreciate you calling my boy’s girl fat," PREACH OWEN!! How can you not love these guys?!?!?
Toni, you have had an amazing couple of months with Dmitiri followed closely by D'Artagnan and all I can say is you are amazing, keep that shit up!

Hat trick is the 5th installment in Aleo’s Ice Cats series. It follows Tennessee and D’Artagnan. Tennessee is a smart, bold, and driven woman working her way up in the sport training world, while D’Art is a proud member of the Ice Cats. After a chance meeting at a hotel bar and then a case of mistaken hotel keys, the two realize that they have an explosive connection. Too bad they live in different parts of the country…

Tennessee and D’Art are of course reunited and are able to see if their relationship can be built off of more than chemistry. While fate may have brought them together, they will have to work to keep this hat trick going.

D’Art was a fun male lead to this book. He clearly loves hockey and was infatuated with Tennessee. He was supportive and wanted what was best for her even if it meant that he would struggle. However, he did feel a bit like a fanfic boyfriend, which played into my struggles with Tennessee’s character.

I love reading about smart, driven women. It is inspiring to read about a woman that is more than the guy she is sleeping with. However, the author fell into a trap while writing Tennessee. While I understand she wanted to write a plus sized heroine, she made the character’s size nearly her entire personality. It was almost all that she thought about and where most of the conflict centered. People are more than their body size. Sure, talk about it a little if that is important, but this book had pages of Tennessee talking about how she can be confident and sexy even if she is bigger or D'Art fetishizing her for her size. When heroines are smaller their size is not their entire personality, and I am waiting for this to occur with larger characters as well.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read. It felt a bit like the author was writing a life she wish she experienced in Tennessee and the way that she was able to find confidence and love, which made D’Art feel more like a cartoon than a potential real person. It is fine to have a man say he likes curvy women – it just does not need to be his entire personality, just like a woman’s size is not her only feature or interest.

ARC REVIEW:

When Toni said this book was gonna be spicy, she meant SPICYYY. Like SO much spice!!

Dart, Dart, Dart, Dart, Dart. My smooth talking, hunk of a hockey player. Dart is used to flirting with girls and getting laid, but when it comes to his friends needing him, they come first. Especially when Angie is in crisis mood and needs her ‘dude of honor,’ just when he was chatting it up with the beautiful Tennessee. So, he left it up to fate to see if they’ll ever run into each other again. AND RUN INTO EACH OTHER THEY DID. 🥵🔥 They both said it would only be one night, but Dart knew he would not be getting over her anytime soon.

My beautiful Tennessee, you deserve better than what you were given and that’s why it was just fate that Dart dropped into your lap. Tennie finally took the leap and left home and did something for herself. Just when she was settling in, and found someone that was ‘nice’ (but definitely not Dart) that she liked she started a relationship. Cue fate again, transferring her to South Carolina to work for Dart’s hockey team. Will she give into Dart magnetic draw or keep it vanilla with the guy she’s with because everyone thinks Dart is wrong for her?

I just want to say, the love that Dart has for Owen and Angie, competes with my love for Owen and Angie. It was so great to reconnect with these characters again and get a little glimpse of them in the future and how they are settling into their relationships post end credits. We love the IceCats!! This book was so easy and fun to read. Obviously CANNOT wait for the next one!! Thank you for sending me this Arc to read! Like all of Toni’s books, I absolutely adored it and the characters 🥹

JESUS. MARY. JOSEPHINE. This book is SPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICY!! Hat trick is by far Toni’s spiciest book ever. But take all the spice out and do you have any plot left to make it a truly good book? After an accidental one night stand Tennessee and Dart both know one thing coming out of that room. That one night wasn’t enough and hell forever probably won’t be either. Toni give us the spice pretty quickly upfront and then teases the readers for a little bit before it hits full force and doesn’t let up throughout the book. One thing I loved about Tennessee is that Toni didn’t write her as a typical big girl character who’s plagued with doubt and insecurities over her weight. Do they show themselves every once in a while? Meh. Does she have them? Yes. But the focus wasn’t so much the journey of her discovering her self worth so much as she had already found it and used it throughout the whole book. Which was refreshing to me the reader. With that it was equally refreshing that while Dart did have to do some self proclamation of loving big women it wasn’t so he had to convince anyone so much as who the cares type of statement. Yes there’s a couple instances of underlying fatphobia going on with side characters but it’s nice to see it NOT affect Tennessee. What’s also nice? There’s no break up then get back together trope going on. This book was a nice easy hockey romance that had a crap ton of spice. So to answer my earlier question of does this book have any plot when you take out the spice? The answer is yes!

Ms. Aleo has hit this book out of the park. Dart and Tennessee are strong characters on their own, but they are stronger together. From the moment they meet, there is a magnetic vibe to them, but the timing doesn’t seem to be right.
Dart is everything you could want a man to be. He is a great friend, awesome brother and the way he interacts with his teammates wives and children is sigh worthy. Even though they agree it is one night only, mainly because they live in two different areas, something shifted and he wants to see where things could go. Unfortunately, she ghosts him after they go their separate ways.
Tennessee is a woman who is about to start a new job and is celebrating with her friends- who are more like jealous mean girls, when she meets Dart. Even though she feels more for him than she wants to admit, she is scared of how much she feels and how fast. She ghosts him and tries to move on.
When fate brings them together again, she can no longer deny her feelings. She is in a relationship with someone else and she tells Dart no because she doesn’t want to cheat. Her current boyfriend proves to be a problem and some of the things he says are horrendous. I loved Owen and Dart and how they defend their women.
His mom was truly horrible and got in his head, but the love Tennie had for him wouldn’t let her break them. I absolute loved this book and can’t wait to see what Ms. Aleo writes next. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

I love to see a strong heroine and oh man does Tennessee fit the bill! Once she figured out what she wanted, no what she deserved out of life, she did everything to get it. Man I loved that about her! When she first met D’Artagnan they were both highly attracted to each other but unfortunately had other things that they had to do. They left it up to fate to see if they would meet up again.

Well hello fate because you really stepped up your game with these two. Tennie is phenomenal at her job and loves what she does. She may not get everything right in her life right away but getting to where she needs to go is such a great journey that I loved to share with her.

When it comes to D'art, man I fell in love with him. He was such a big marshmallow on the inside especially with family and friends. He fell so hard for Tennie and couldn't get her out of his mind. It didn't matter how long since he had seen her, how far she was from him, she was all he could think of. He didn't have the best relationship with his mom and I honestly did NOT care for the woman at all. I loved how he was the kids, you could tell he just loved them!!!!

Man these two together will burn your kindle UP!!! Holy smokes *big eyes* The kind where you can feel yourself blushing and glancing around to see if anyone notices you. I can say SO much about this book and seem to have said quite a bit but you need to read it!!!!

Whew… Toni turned up the spice for this story and I’m all about that. “Hat Trick” is a heartfelt, steamy and great addition to the Ice Cats series.

It’s wedding time for Owen and Angie and Dart is the dude of honor. All of his teammates are coupling up and he’s feeling the odd man out. That’s until he meets a voluptuous blonde at the bar the morning of the wedding. Tennessee is in town celebrating her new job and a move to a different city. After a hotel key mishap, the two end up spending one incredible night together. Thinking they would never see each other again, they find out months later that Tennessee will be working with the Ice Cats. And Dart is determined to make Tennessee his forever.

I loved Dart and Tennessee from the beginning and thought they were perfect together. Dart is confident, caring and so swoony. He cares for his teammates and they truly are his family. I loved how close he was with Owen and Angie. And he’s the best big brother to his sister. Tennessee is a certified baddie and I loved her standing up for herself to her friends and her mother. They were out of line with how they would treat her and I cheered so hard for her. I don’t blame her for falling Dart as quickly as she did because I would have to if I was her. He was very clear that he was all about her and I loved that he made sure that she knew. It was great catching up with the Ice Cats and I hope we get more from them soon.

Even though this book had similar motifs to the previous books (i.e. body issues, self-esteem), the way the author went about it was so much different--and THAT, my friends, made a WORLD of difference. It was SO much better than the previous book. We did have a beautiful, curvy leading lady who did have some issues, but that was a small drop in the bucket when it came to everything else going on in the story. We also had Dart's custody stuff with his sister. We had Tennessee's push to become a proven force in her job. She dealt with the move and being in a long-term relationship and having an ex for a co-worker. All sorts of things.

And when we had body image added on top, I felt like it enhanced the story as a part of her character instead on making it a book about a curvy woman whining that she's not good enough for anyone, and the man trying to convince her she is (yes, that was pretty much the last book). Tennessee did have people being mean to her about her weight, but at the beginning of the book, you can see that she was putting an end to that being an issue in her life. She was dropping the bullies. She was adding people to her life that enhanced it. Dart was a wildcard because he IS a professional hockey player, and there are those stereotypes. But she took at chance to see he wasn't like that.

Anyhow, as you can tell, I liked this one. It did have some slow-down spots, but overall, it was pretty darned good. I recommend.

Hat Trick is the fifth book in the IceCats series and while you don't have to have read the other four to enjoy this one, I would highly recommend you do just because they are great books!

In this one, D’Artagnan Miklas is a star on the IceCats hockey team and he's at the hotel bar when he encounters a beautiful woman named Tennessee. Dart and Tennie spend time together, but other obligations mean that he has to leave her well before he's ready. While they exchange numbers, she ends up ghosting him and he doesn't hear from her again.

It's true that fate often steps in and makes decisions for you and in the case of Dart and Tennie, that seems to be the case when her job lands her in South Carolina working with the IceCats. Will they end up together or will too much time have passed?

This story was about acceptance, knowing and understanding your worth, trust and standing up for what is right and best for you. The chemistry between Dart and Tennie was undeniable and jumped off the page. I appreciated the way that Dart was so supportive of Tennie and made her feel so supported and beautiful. When people talk down to you and tear you down it's difficult to believe those things when they are said and I loved that he just kept reiterating them. This was a great read and one I'd definitely recommend!

SHHEEEESSSSSH TONI DELIEVERED! If I could give it more then 5 stars I would!

One night stand lined up with fate!

Dart is the Dude of Honor for Angie and Owen's wedding and while at the bar he shares shots with the Tennessee. Due to wedding duties, he makes the hard decision to leave her and go tend to Angie. Leave it up to fate for them to meet again and they spend one night together, they do exchange numbers but.....Tennessee ghosts him. Will fate intervene again for these two?

Tennesee had so much confidence and I loved her so much. She was smart, fierce, independent and feisty! Throughout the book she was realizing her worth more and more and cutting out people in her life that did not deserve her time!

Dart, well GD! This guy! He is hilarious. His inner monologue had me LOL-ing. He was an amazing friend to those he does call friends. He did not disappoint in the bedroom either...shheeeeshhhh! After his one night, he fell hard. He was hooked on Tennessee after one night and did not care who knew. He wanted her and her only and was not going to share.

I have previously read the other IceCats books in the series and I didn't think anyone would take Nico's place but Dart did and not only did Dart but Tennesee did as well.

This is book 5 in her IceCat series and if you haven't read the others, that is okay! I really REALLY REALLY recommend you reading this one and of course all her other but you will be obsessed with Dart.

WOW! This story was everything and then some! I fell in love with Tennessee and D'Artagnan, and you will too! Toni deals with a subject that is so relevant and nailed it! She is an amazing author and this one kind of reminded me of Shea and Elli! Don't miss out on this sweet love story! 5 Hat Tricks for this one!
Tennessee has been just settling her entire life. Even her two "best friends" make comments about her weight, she's done and taking a big step moving away from it all. But just before she leaves she goes out with her "besties", but before she meets up with them, she's at the hotel bar where she meets Dart, and they share laughs and an attraction, but he's headed one way and she the other.
Dart is watching all his friends find their other half, and he's starting to yearn to find his. When he meets Tennessee, he's debating on blowing off the wedding and spending time with her, but it's his bestie's wedding and she needs him. After the wedding fate delivers her right to his door literally, and they share one very hot night!
Read along and enjoy their story, you need to read along and experience all the feels, I won't give any more away, just know this is a must read! Enjoy!

5 ⭐️ and all the Feels Toni!!!
Just when I think Toni can’t blow me away she gives me love at first sight through Dart’s eyes!! The angst he felt as he waited for Tennie to find him again was all consuming. Seriously didn’t know if my heart could take anymore. I felt I was on pin and needles waiting for her to find him again.
As for Tennessee (I love that name BTW) she had my heart from the jump. We go through life with these damn insecurities and sometimes we just need to get ourselves away from the noise and learn to trust ourselves. I loved that about her. I loved that she followed her heart and jumped into her life no matter how scared she was.
Dart and Tennie have a very explosive chemistry that gave us some of the sexiest scenes 🥵. Especially that first encounter! Girl we all wish our first night with a stranger can go like that! But nothing compares to the sweet agony of waiting for them to find each other again. Seriously love the angsty feeling I get when the characters on the page have that chemistry that they try to deny. Just makes that reunion that much sweeter. Give me more Toni!!!

I absolutely love this book!!! This book has become one of my favorite Toni Aleo books. Ms. Aleo definitely scored a hat trick with this book. This book just took a piece of my heart with it. I love the characters in the book, well most of them anyway. Dart’s mom?? She can take a flying leap of a very tall building, she is a … Sorry, anger issues with her. And as much as I loved Tenn, I did want to slap her really hard for what she was doing to Dart for a while. Sorry Ladies, you will have to read this spectacular book to find out these little tidbits.
I really think I love all of Ms. Aleo’s books because her characters are “real”. They have their flaws and insecurities like any real person. I know, absolutely know, when I pick up one of Ms. Aleo’s books that I will get lost in this book.
Because of my love of romance books, especially “hockey” romance, I was gifted with my copy of this wonderful book for my thoughts and opinions of it. Bravo, Ms. Aleo you definitely have another winner with this book.
Thank you for reading my review. Now, what are you waiting for? Go hit that purchase button from your favorite retailer and have a great time reading this book.

loved this so much!!!

I can’t say it enough just how much I loved this story. Most authors make their heroines thin & petite or tall & willowy but Toni Aleo makes her heroines real. Not every girl/woman is or can be skinny or even normal size. Some of us have weight issues from medical or genetic reasons no matter how hard we try that we deal with throughput life & it can be rough with comments, clothing styles & self esteem problems. I’ve loved Dart in Owen & Angie’s story & his fierce loyalty to his friends, especially Angie with her weight issues & his protectiveness of her made him the perfect pairing for Tennessee. Her self esteem & the barrage of nasty comments from so called best friends has her holding back until she meets Dart. What one night & one man can do for a person is amazing. Together they set the pages on fire & only continued to create the perfect pairing as they meet again & realize that they complete each other in every way & adding his little sister to their lives only improves them more. Definitely enjoyed the tension & drama as they started their journey to this new found love. Definitely recommend.

Toni Aleo has been one of my favorite authors for years, and I’ve enjoyed so many of her books that they’ve become a staple in my reading rotation. It’s been such a joy to see her return to writing and continue expanding the series with characters I’ve grown to love over time. "Hat Trick" brings back that signature Aleo charm with a storyline that feels like a reunion with old friends. It’s always a treat to revisit her world and see how these characters evolve while still capturing the magic that made me fall in love with them in the first place.

This particular book cranks up the heat! "Hat Trick" is extra spicy, so prepare for some scenes that might leave you blushing. Aleo beautifully balances intimacy and emotional depth, making the story engaging on multiple levels. While the spice level might not be for everyone, it fits seamlessly into the narrative, adding to the chemistry and connection between Dart and Tennesse. Overall, this book reminded me why I’ve followed Toni Aleo’s journey as a writer and left me excited for whatever comes next in the series. It's a great addition to your Toni Aleo book collection.
Happy Reading...enjoy!

Toni Aleo is on a winning streak with HAT TRICK (IceCats #5). Carolina IceCats star D’Artagnan (Dart) Miklas meets Tennessee (Tennie) Dent before Owen Adler’s wedding. The two hit it off, but Dart needed to leave for the wedding. They decide to leave the rest to fate. Fate plays a major part in their story.

I really like both Dart and Tennessee. Dart is Owen Adler’s best friend (ALL THE SAUCE, IceCats #4). Owen marries Angela Paxton. I love that Dart is Angela’s “Dude of Honor” at their wedding. I adored how good Dart is with his little sister, Sabine.

Tennessee is a fun character. Her background in kinesiology and biomechanics is interesting. I enjoyed her love of the University of Tennessee and all things' orange.

The characters have interesting obstacles and challenges throughout this story. They have amazing chemistry. I love how they both grow and are dynamic. HAT TRICK is an excellent addition to the IceCats series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

This is the fifth book in the Ice Cats series. You have D'artagnan Miklas and Tennessee Dent who have a chance meeting in a hotel bar. He shares a moment with Tennie and it definitely leaves an impression. Their chemistry is off the charts in their one night together. They agree to leave it to fate if they are to see each other again. Dart is off to the Ice Cats to start the season and Tennie is off to Virginia to start a new job. Well Dart didn't want to leave it to fate and texts her and she ghosts him. Well fates steps in and her job sends her to Carolina to the Ice Cats. You've got to read this to see how Dart and Tennie navigate their chemistry and relationship. I love how Toni writes strong characters. Men who stand by their women, who love their family or don't take their families bullying or blackmailing. Woman who may have issues, but are strong and stand up for themselves and go after what they deserve. In the case of Tennie her childhood friends constantly put her down for her size and she stood up for herself and said no more. I love it. Toni hit another into the net.

Dart and Tennessee!! oh my

This was a good book. Dart hooks up with Tennie and they have a super hot night. He wants to get to know her but she is afraid and doesn’t want a long distance relationship. She literally ghosts him. In Tennie’s defense, she is going through a lot of changes. She is moving away from home for the first time, she has ditched her lifelong associates for body shaming her and she is just making herself a priority.

Three months later she is working for Dart’s hockey team. The conundrum she faces is that she now has a boyfriend who she doesn’t really want. Dart has to convince her that their connection is too strong to ignore and that her new friend is not the man for her.

This book involves a full figured woman who had crappy friends her whole life. Shame on her mom for wanting her to sacrifice her feelings so that she could save face with her friends. I was so proud of Tennie for not cracking under the pressure. I also admired Dart for fighting his mom for his sister. He was such a good man!
