finished this last night and it was an okay read.
okay ngl when i saw the premise of this book i was a bit excited because we got a brother’s best friend and forbidden romance, it sounded very promising. but at some parts this book is just not for me.
the thing that i like in this book are the friendship of the brothers and the grandmother and the found family. i like sierra and grayson. but the only thing that i don’t like is just plot and the pacing of this book is just too slow and didn’t engage at all. too many spicy scenes (not that i hate it but) that i felt like it too long. so yup that’s all how i felt.
so i gave this 2.5 stars.

‘Together. Because I can’t seem to get enough of Sierra Matthews. Ever’
Where to Start….
First of all I am a sucker for second chance romance and this hit the spot. Sierra and Grayson gave me all the feels from their time in Miami to being neighbours who fell in love.
The sense of found family between sierra and the guys made my heart warm, especially since it had on,y been her, Jake and Gran. (Fingers crossed we get to see Holden and Tuckers love story’s play out in the future)
The forbidden romance element made it that much better -who doesn’t love a secret relationship. The way they were sneaking about was adorable. But the way that their friends and family could just tell they were in love by the way they looked at each other? Perfection ❤️

I enjoyed Sierra and Grayson's story. These two meet in Miami and have a steamy one night stand. Never forgetting about each other. But when Sierra moves back home she quickly learns Gray is her brothers best friend. Such a sexy secret relationship. He falls first. She's concerned her brother won't approve. First book in the series but can be read as a standalone.

I really enjoyed this book. This was spicy, with one night stand that meet each other again later, brother best friend and everything is in a small town. I can´t wait to read more of her books.

I’ve read the book in less than 24 hours and loved every second. Lemme tell you, the spice and the tension in this book 🥵🥵 But also the cuteness because Grayson is obsessed with her (in a good way)
It’s a summer read, so if you don’t want to read it this fall, THEN U DEFINITELY NEED TO READ IT NEXT SUMMER (but you will miss out, if you wait another year😉)

Gosh I need to update my Goodreads! Sierra and Grayson were cute! I’m glad there wasn’t really a third act breakup. I expected Sierra to try to hold out a little longer than she did. I’m curious about Briar’s character arch because I know she ends up as the fmc in the last book but she was kinda a bitch here. Curious if Holden’s girlfriend in this book was always meant to be his HEA or not! I also don’t read too many series that overlap in timeline so I’m curious to see how the next book with Josh and Everly looks like. Anyways, love Lily Miller! Such a sweet person

2 years after a one-night stand in Miami, Sierra moves back home and meets her brother’s best friend and realises that he’s the guy from Miami. Not only is Grayson Ford her brother’s best friend - making him off limits - but he’s also her new next-door neighbour.
This book was so good and gave me all of the feels. The writing was super captivating and the characters are super likeable.
Grayson is just the perfect man, from the way he adored Sierra, the way he is always so respectful and especially when he calls her sunshine. I just absolutely loved them as a couple and felt that they complemented each other super well.
I can’t wait to read Jake’s book in the future.

The love I have for this story is beyond words. I am forever in my small town era and I am now relocating to Reed Point to start a new life and settle down with a handsome man (I’d love for it to be Grayson, Jake, Holden or Tucker, but I’m not fussy). There’s something wonderful about starting a new series and meeting a new town that has it charm and stories. It’s an incredible feeling, and it was certainly there where starting One Good Move.
Grayson Ford opened his heart once, and that was enough for him, at least it was until one night in Miami where a leggy blonde started to change his mind, until she ran. A couple of years later and his mind has stayed the same, but when the blonde from that night shows up, it doesn’t take long for old thoughts to reappear.
Sierra is a treasure. When you find the person who can walk into a dull room and light it up, you hold onto them, and that’s what you need to do with Sierra, hold onto her. She’s not had the best past, but she had has a loving family who have allowed her to dream and go for what she wants. While missing her parents, her relationship with her brother and grandma is one that anyone would love to have. Sierra is a diamond, a beautiful diamond who deserves so much love and I’d be honoured to have her as my friend.
For those who haven’t read this story yet, I hope you love the chemistry as much as I did between Sierra and Grayson. They are so in sync and perfect together. Once they reconnected and the tension started to grow, I could feel myself wanting to scream and shake the author a million times for the cruel interruptions she would include. I was DESPERATE for them to have that first kiss again, and when it finally happened? LORD WAS I HAPPY.
I cannot express a single negative with this story, it completely ticked my boxes. One thing I loved about this story is that there was no third act break up and that the plot didn’t go the way I was expecting it to. I love being surprised and Lily really strayed from the typical cliches that take place in a story like this. The characters were so mature, and it just made me so incredibly happy. The relationships between everyone were honourable and unique, none were cold, they were all mature and grown up (something you struggle to find in each and every story).
Truth be told, I could go on for hours and hours, but I think you’d get fed up of me and I’d end up giving the story away. But I would like to mention one more thing. THE COMMUNICATION 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 HELLO LILY? CAN I HUG YOU? YOU’RE ONE OF THE BEST AUTHORS FOR ALLOWING PEOPLE TO COMMUNICATE WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG RATHER THAN THERE BEING MISCOMMUNICATION AND PERTY ARGUMENTS. THANK YOU QUEEN.

One Good Move is the first book I’ve ever read by Lily Miller and wow - what a perfect book to get me out of my, what feels like 8 years long, reading slump! This was such a great book to begin the Haven Harbor series and it’s dual POV!!! It had some of my absolute favourite tropes including small town, brother’s best friend, secret relationship, dirty talking and reformed playboy … what more could one want?
After a steamy night in Miami, Grayson and Sierra never expect to see each other ever again. It seems as if fate had a different idea in mind and made them next door neighbours, two years later. What happens when your hot next-door neighbour happens to be your one-night stand from two years ago AND your brother’s best friend?
I have to be honest … I wasn’t picturing a blonde male lead. Lily mentioned it on her Instagram page, but my brain clearly blocked that out because I was imagining a brunette this whole time. I was shocked when I found out, however, we love this blondie named Grayson. He’s extra flirty, super charming and confident, tall, and friends with Sierra’s grandma. He’s the ultimate package! He was super easy to fall in love with and the way he showed his love for Sierra? Wow. Not only is his love language physical touch, it’s also quality time and I find that to be so refreshing.
Sierra is an absolute ray of sunshine; Grayson even says so. After surviving a horrific incident and losing her parents, Jake (her older brother) and her grandma were all she had left. Her backstory was absolutely heartbreaking, and I felt myself getting so emotional (I just know Jake’s book is going to make me cry). Though she may come from a tragic past, her heart is so big and Sierra’s such a caring soul. She’s super funny, so thoughtful, and truly the typical “girl next door”. She is somebody I wouldn’t think twice about befriending.
Grayson and Sierra were such an amazing match! While they did have their insta-love moment in the first chapter, they got to know each other so much more and deeper as the story progressed and I really liked that. The spice??? WOW. I truly wasn’t expecting to get slapped in the face but here we are, and I’d let Lily Miller do it again. As mentioned before, Grayson has a dirty mouth – you cannot fault me for blushing when reading these chapters. The way he fought for her too?? SWOOONNNN. He wasn’t going to let anyone get in the way of him being with his girl and I ate that UPPPP.
Overall, the story flowed super well! There wasn’t a character I disliked (except for Blair – that bitch) and I am SO excited for the rest of this series!

I’m amazed at how much I enjoyed this story! From the sweet romance between Sierra and Grayson, to the witty banter between Grayson and his friends, to the beautiful and peaceful depiction of the quaint coastal town which is the setting for the book.
Sierra had a sizzling one night stand with a handsome stranger in Miami. She never thought she’d see him again, and when he shows up in her life two years later, things definitely get interesting. This book has all the fun tropes including brother’s best friend, neighbors to lovers, flirty texts, a dirty talking MMC, and a loving grandma everyone adores.
Sierra and Grayson were totally likable and from the get-go, you just can’t help but root for their happily ever after. Sierra is an absolute ray of sunshine. She’s trying to figure out who she is on her own and what she wants. Seeing her blossom in her journey was so much fun. I sympathized with what she was going through and I cheered for her every step of the way. She wasn’t expecting Grayson in her life… and neither was I.
Grayson isn’t looking for commitment, yet he can’t help falling hard for his best friend’s sister who comes alive in his arms. He’s protective, swoony, and just makes you melt with everything he does for her. The chemistry between he and Sierra is truly tangible and their banter offers a witty interjection into their secret relationship. One thing I loved was how he gave Sierra her space, but also communicated his feelings, and I think that gave Sierra the safe space she needed to do the same. The open and honest conversations between them were like a breath of fresh air.

I’m amazed at how much I enjoyed this story! From the sweet romance between Sierra and Grayson, to the witty banter between Grayson and his friends, to the beautiful and peaceful depiction of the quaint coastal town which is the setting for the book.
Sierra had a sizzling one night stand with a handsome stranger in Miami. She never thought she’d see him again, and when he shows up in her life two years later, things definitely get interesting. This book has all the fun tropes including brother’s best friend, neighbors to lovers, flirty texts, a dirty talking MMC, and a loving grandma everyone adores.
Sierra and Grayson were totally likable and from the get-go, you just can’t help but root for their happily ever after. Sierra is an absolute ray of sunshine. She’s trying to figure out who she is on her own and what she wants. Seeing her blossom in her journey was so much fun. I sympathized with what she was going through and I cheered for her every step of the way. She wasn’t expecting Grayson in her life… and neither was I.
Grayson isn’t looking for commitment, yet he can’t help falling hard for his best friend’s sister who comes alive in his arms. He’s protective, swoony, and just makes you melt with everything he does for her. The chemistry between he and Sierra is truly tangible and their banter offers a witty interjection into their secret relationship. One thing I loved was how he gave Sierra her space, but also communicated his feelings, and I think that gave Sierra the safe space she needed to do the same. The open and honest conversations between them were like a breath of fresh air.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. I look forward to the upcoming books in this series. I can’t wait to see what is in store for the rest of their friends, especially Sierra’s overprotective older brother, Jake!

This has been on my TBR for a while. When I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of the second in the series, I made sure to dive into this first. And I am so glad that I did! It is such a fun story, and I loved getting to know all of the characters.
I loved the writing and pace, the picturesque setting, the chemistry and connection between Sierra and Grayson, and the professional aspect in which they work for rival companies. The side characters are also so entertaining! I also have to shoutout the dedication, the playlist, and these gorgeous covers!!!

This was my first Lily miller book and I am so excited to keep reading. As a dark romance girly, I LOVE a good small town, cute as shit romance in the mix. It makes me appreciate them even more. I loved Grayson and sierras chemistry a lot, but I loved the dynamic between the guys and gran even more. I think gran stole the show a bit for me, always meddling. And her love of McDonald’s coke. Petition for gran to have her own book. Anyway, I think this was such a good introduction into lilys world and haven harbor, and I don’t want to give spoilers, but if you love small town, brothers best friend with some good laughs,a few tears, and some spiceeee, I recommend diving in. Grayson is worth it🔥

4 ⭐️ If you’re looking for a (*spicy*) book you can’t put down, this is one to add to your list! Grayson and Sierra gravitate toward each other anytime they are together, and you can instantly feel the connection. Sierra’s brother, Jake, is wayyyyy overprotective and at times I was thinking he needs to chill! I’ll definitely be reading Lily Miller’s next book! I received an arc of this book from love notes pr and I’m so glad I did! One of my favourite books of the year, small town, brothers best friend, secret dating, all of the tropes! I got half way through this in one sitting I was so invested. I’ll definitely be reading more Lily Miller books.

This was my first Lily Miller book and won’t be my last. I’ll be reading her backlog of steamy romances.

I really loved this novel and flew through it in about two days. I found the writing to be captivating and that characters likeable. I particularly loved that Grayson fell hard and fell first… his chapters were so good. I love a protective brother vibe (even if Jake was perhaps waaaay to over protective) but its understandable given the history.
The only reason I knocked off a star was there was the side plot with another character that felt very irrelevant. I didn’t get the drama that was meant to come from it and it didn’t work in the story line for me personally.
I will read more of this series as I’m hoping there will be future books on the other boys in this story.

This was a genuinely sweet story with a plot i enjoyed. I liked the characters, I liked where everything was headed, and it had some really warm moments. But the writing style just didn't click for me. Not bad by any means, just not the kind of voice that fully pulled me in. I still enjoyed reading it, just wasn't obsessed. A solid, heartfelt read that I'm glad tried, just not a new fave for me personally. I will try the rest of the books in this series in the future :)

🤩 You had me at the tropes: one night stand, brother’s best friend, and next-door neighbor.
🤩 Lily's writing will captivate and fully immerse you in the setting, story, and all the feels.
🤩 Haven Harbor is ocean front! I love the paddleboarding.
🤩 I fell in lust and maybe half in love with Grayson from the prologue. I fell the rest of the way (like smitten, total book boyfriend) immediately in chapter 1, when he’s sitting on his porch (yes, in his Adirondack chair) thinking about how much he’s going to miss his neighbor Millie now that she’s moved into an assisted living facility.
🤩 Grandma Millie is the best side character. The other neighbor friends and co-worker friends are great too.
🤩 The playboy falls first. And hard. And he gets jealous.
🤩 Sierra friend-zones Grayson. He’s a really good friend. And so sweet, fun, and flirty!
🤩 Grayson gives good foot massages.
🤩 Sweet nicknames.
🤩 Smokin’ hot sneaking around. Steam in all the right places for this greedy girl.
🤩 Painting, remodeling, baking, and cooking together.
🤩 The way Grayson handled Blair.
