A dark and obsessive stalker romance that’s NOT for the faint of heart. My world changed forever the night I attended a party. Not just any party. A party for the rich and powerful elite. That’s where I made the worst mistake of my life. I caught the attention of the perfect man. Kaden Raskova is Prince Charming in a finely tailored suit. Mysterious. Sophisticated. Impossibly handsome. He’s taken a special interest in me and my musical talent. But there’s something off that I can’t quite put my finger on. Moments where I sense a monster behind the mask of a man. A predator that’s luring his prey to his dungeon of cruel delights. That prey being me. As the dark and morbid truth unravels, I come to a grim conclusion. I have to get him before he gets me. And there’s no way we’re both making it out alive.
*** Cruel Delights is a dark and twisted romance with very sensitive subject matter that some readers may find disturbing. Check the content warning BEFORE reading. ***
Sienne has a thing for dark and brooding alphas and the diverse women who love them. She enjoys writing stories where lines are blurred and the romance is dark and delicious. In her spare time, she unwinds with a nice glass of wine and Netflix binge.

This book read like a fan fiction especially with the freaking songs for each chapter. A Tesla is such a weird car for a big, bad, rich, and dangerous man like Kaden to have. The smut and sex scenes were very hot and had infinitely better writing than the rest of the book. There are so many logistical errors in this book for starters, Kaden is a cardio surgeon and has WAAAYY too much free time on his hands. Never gets paged or called in once. When you become a surgeon you have background checks and the detectives knew about his incident as a child so obviously it would come up somewhere in a background check?? You also cannot just steal pills from hospitals, there are so many security practices in place preventing medical staff from doing this. Yeah sure, the cardiologist surgeon who is never here can have unrestricted access to medications. My biggest gripe is that the “plot twist” wasn’t really a plot twist, it was just straight up a lie. If you’re going to make Lyra the real psycho and mastermind, writing her in first person and letting us be privy to her inner conscious and emotions at events as they’re happening and then tell us “oh no that’s not real; this is how Lyra actually is! Everything before was fake!”, it’s just totally disregarding what you wrote! Lyra wouldn’t be acting in her own head, that doesn’t make sense. I feel like this was an attempt to make Lyra be an unreliable narrator, but unless another character begins to question it or tell Lyra that something wasn’t real, we as the reader have to assume her thoughts and feeling are real. I believe if the author had written in 3rd person or had Kaden be the sole narrator in 1st person could have achieved this. I don’t understand a lot of the author’s reasonings for certain scenes for example why Lyra was supposedly ‘acting’ while playing the piano to keep Grady alive only to tell Kaden as soon as they got home that she killed for him and is the reason for his dark past (he also never gets angry about this. I was expecting him to be like “This is your fault! You’re the reason I’m so fucked up!”) but it’s fine I guess?? And they just live happily ever after in the end?? Finally, I’m excited to see that the only character with some common sense, Imani, is the main character of book 2.

I definitely had my suspicions about the owner and I was correct but when I say, I am so shocked this story really just blew my mind.Sienna never disappoints. Honestly about halfway through I was trying to figure out what could the other have possibly be about but she sure showed me very interesting. I’m just in shock. This was a dark one. On another note, that Celeste really was crazy. i’m assuming she never got paid by her former boss. Definitely don’t want to go too far into details, but if they were made for each other ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was giving me 50 Shades if Grey vibes but dude was a murdering, stalking doctor and sex club member. He was supposed to off her after an incident at the club but after stalking her so much he became obsessed with her. I liked the premise and the first half of the book, but towards the end I was like "huh?!" Not sure if I'll pick up the next book.
Sienne Vega comes roaring back with an absolutely riveting new book entitled Cruel Delights. The only thing cruel about this story is that it ended! Versatile Ms. Vega continues to DELIGHT and enthrall her readers with the extraordinary scope and conciseness of her writing. Mafia Romance (check), MC Romance (check), now readers are gifted with a sly and twisted romantic psychological thriller. Lyra is in her usual position, behind in her rent and stiffed by her clients for piano lessons and her work at the local newspaper. She is reluctantly persuaded to attend a society event by her influencer roommate; perhaps this event will be her come up! The evening takes a severe turn for the worse and Lyra finds herself in escape mode. However, Kaden, an attendee of the event who has a unique set of skills, is tasked with neutralizing Lyra. As Kaden watches Lyra to complete his task, he finds himself coming to appreciate and obsess over Lyra (little lamb). As their relationship unfolds, the reader is pulled into their uneasy, yet heated courtship; we know who and what Kaden is, but Lyra remains a mystery. I found myself guessing and speculating until almost the end of the book. Great twists and a very satisfying conclusion. As with all of Ms. Vega’s stories, I greedily want more details…what happens down the road, and will we see Imani again?
Setting: Current day in an unnamed US city with an inner city ghetto named Northam.
Trope: Killer. Psychopath. Stalking. Stockholm syndrome. Obsession.
Main characters: 1. Dr. Kaden Raskova, hero, is a multi billionaire psychotic vascular surgeon and the enforcer for an up scale exclusive sex club, Midnight Society. 2. Lyra Nicole Hendrix, heroine, is a passive unaware black female who works menial jobs despite her piano training and college degree.
This story is well written but gets off to a slow starts giving too much time to many of the characters nature and their back stories. After Lyra extricated herself from a horrible situation in the Midnight Society Club, she is marked as a target for Kaden to exterminate. His surveillance of her becomes an obsession of his the ignites a romance for them both. As the story goes on, it is revealed that Lyra is as psychotically unhinged as Kaden. After killing his father, many of their other murder victims are found; so, Kaden and Lyra stage Lyra's death which allows Kaden and Lyra to escape to another country where they live happily ever after.

WHew Chile just when I think Sienne Vega couldn't get any better she gets better than ever!!! I have read all of sienne Vega books from the very first release and I honestly think this is my absolute favourite!! This was pitch black dark the way I love and the story was a psychological scorching hot erotic thriller that threw me a curve ball that I was not expecting!! If you enjoy black women stories where she is worshipped by a handsome wealthy possessive psycho killer alpha this book is for you!! I hope we get more just like this from MS Vega and soon. I'm glad this author was not afraid to go where she went with the erotica in the book and I definitely will be rereading this again and again!! This is author now is one of my favorite top three authors along with janjan untamed and Kenya wright due to her great story, erotica being scorching hot, perfect editing and consistent releases without long waits!!
This book has triggers and I better not see anyone whine that it's dark romance! Mannnnn Sienna Vega WENT THERE! she wrote a darrrrk delicious dark romance with all the great triggers that most black authors are afraid to touch with a ten foot pole and I'm in love with this book! Omg! Please please Dear author Sienna Vega, Please keep writing more books like this with unambiguous Black female leads, I swear I'll be your number one fan!
Read this is if you like your Male leads Over the top/ unhinged and obsessed with their Love. I'm buying this just to reread over again because I have yet to see Black writers go there with these themes and unapologetically make their male leads unredeemable (other than authors like Smauggy Universe and sometimes Eve Vaughn.) I've now found my holy Trinity in Dark romance writers that unapologetically write Black female leads in this genre. I'm just... Wow ❤️
Wow. For a while I thought this book was just “okay” . It had all the components I enjoy in dark romance but it dragged a bit. The very end gave this book life. Highly recommend for those looking for a bwwm dark romance with duet narration.
i’ve read plenty of dark romances that are ‘not for the faint of heart’ that were acc really good this was just word vomit, i dont even know where the plot went but this pissed me off
This story was going to be 4 stars. I was really enjoying it....until the last 2 chapters then it was a no for me. That twist reveal in chapter 34 didn't work for me at all because there were no hints in the previous chapters to have you come to that conclusion. In my opinion it wasn't written well and made no sense. At least to me it didn't. From there I tuned out of the story because wtf was that. Had the author chose to give us hints earlier in the book and not wait literally 2 chapters before the end of the book to reveal the truth, I would've liked it more.
this book took me way too long to finish and the only reason it even got 3 stars is because of the ending. definitely had a good twist i wasn’t expecting but overall just wasn’t for me!
This was an amazing dark love story. I love it so much and the twists caught me by surprise. I wasn’t sure about this book a first but I’m glad I finished it.
Talk about no mercy at all! This is pleasure & Pain on another level. This is 100% dark romance. The way they met, how the sex is omg so good, and I definitely love a good dark romance with a twist. Sienne Vega you got me clutching my pearls. “Why I’ve never.” ( in my Southern Bell accent) so many very very naughty things were written in this story, and all I have to say about is KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. You definitely stayed true to your warnings at the beginning of the book. So thank you for that. You did not disappoint. I’m so very extremely excited for the next book! You have been added to my list of favorite authors and I will be buying more of your books to add to my collection. I give it 5 stars.
Warning: This is mean and may contain spoilers about the characters. I am not sorry for anything said and am entitled to an opinion
Kayden Raskova (not sure if his last name is spelt correctly but idc) “I would never do anything you didn’t expressly consent to,” 😑 How does this make sense when he’s been in her room and used her body, mind you without asking beforehand or mentioning he has some type of somnophilia kink going on (most of this before she even knew him). Sir, please stop lying. Author, kindly fire your sensitivity readers, proofreaders and publishers for allowing this to come out of the drafts. The plot was lacking, dialogue not only felt repetitive but was also poorly written. Why do side characters speak better than the NPC of an MMC Kaden. This man wore the same distasteful outfit of button ups, slacks and loafers so religiously I skipped his outfit description. His POV was dry as hell and made me feel like my eyes were being bleached. I had to physically stand up while reading, run outside and breathe in and out from how dizzy I felt reading the nonsense that this man would think and speak.
So, he’s Russian? (eye roll and yawn)
For the love and respect of all Russians, couldn’t you have interacted with a few Russians before crafting such a banal character. Sidetracking but “little lamb” is not a cute name for ANY character in a book. The fact that this man calls himself a predator and Lyra his prey means he understood he was disgusting, weird, crazy and needed MAJOR help.
Another major problem here is stalking. It’s mentioned in the trigger warning list, the cover and Goodreads, but why is it in the book at all? You do know many women have been MURDERED and left traumatized by such behavior. It’s not a cute thing in books nor reality. This man installed cameras in her room, snuck in her room (multiple times), hacked into her phone, stalked her social media accounts and followed her in an unhealthily religious manner. At that point he might as well have slept in her bed. The invasion of her privacy didn’t even stop there. He knew she had an account where she’d occasionally post videos of herself in revealing clothes and get angry at the ludicrous and rude comments the men would post.
Excuse you, they had the decency to be upfront, sir. What about you, coward? Hiding in the shadows and jerking off in a bloody alley. If there’s one thing the author did right, she definitely did research on this type of character. Just poorly written, ma’am.
Lyra Hendrix 😒 Babe, no. Just no. There were so many problems with this character that I can’t write a whole list. 1. She’s black and poor…. Okay, Miss Vega, why did your FMC have to be black and poor? Not only that she smokes pot and comes from an unstable home. As a Black South African woman I speak for all of us when I say that is NOT true. And may I also say she is not the only author to do this and get away with it. Like, can we stop generalizing stereotypes like this in books? Not all black people come from an unstable home, smoke pot and are poor.
Problem number 2: The racism. Warning mention of SA So, Miss Gurl (Lyra) is mistaken for a prostitute. Can I just ask why? Also, the racism in this book was just not for me. I understand it’s a real problem in the world, but not every book with a black character must have racism in it. It was not necessary. I did prior research before reading this book about Russians and their understanding of black people, and this book just did that. Treats a black person (woman) as some type of exotic creature they’re fascinated with. In the scene where Lyra is mistaken for a prostitute and forced on stage people are looking at her weirdly and some with interest. Here, she’s thrown onto a bed/stage where a whole bunch of white wealthy people watch another man sexually violate her by shoving his private part in her mouth. Now, the audience is unaware she is actually uncomfortable, but they keep laughing. When they do realize she’s not a usual who signed up and whatever, they continue to act as if it’s the most normal thing to happen. And it’s not only the fact that they’re laughing that upsets me. It’s the fact that they allow it. They don’t interfere, don’t help. Just watch in interest while others laugh. Mind you, NPC Kaden is sitting there too and watching. He doesn’t care but does admit it’s by far the most interesting thing that’s happening that evening.
INTERSTING? Sir, a woman is being violated. And the fact you even think that way is worrying. I am aware this character is a serial killer and “morally black” as the author mentioned in the beginning, but there is a massive difference between MORALLY black and plain and simple disgusting. Men who think this way should be in prison. This author needs to be checked if she believes what she’s written here is okay. Because honey, it was not. Again, this is a draft-worthy piece of work. As in stay in the drafts.
Back to the racism, why is Lyra assumed to be a prostitute? Was it the way she dressed or was it her skin? Because this was really labelling in my opinion. It also links to the whole “she asked for it” thing with sexual assault. Lyra’s way of dressing is crop tops and lots of skin, which I totally couldn’t care less about, but it feels like the author was using all that as an excuse for the guy that assumed Lyra’s profession as a prostitute.
Problem 3: Lyra’s trauma I honestly hated how this was written. It wasn’t even hinted at. It was simply slapped on the page and given to us. I get show and tell with writing, but the telling was happening so often that I felt like a preschooler again. Abuse is a sensitive topic that cannot just be written. Someone who’s experienced any type of abuse wouldn’t just trust someone after a few days of dry texting and lunch dates. Lyra’s journey to trusting Kayden felt rushed and so forced. If I wanted to be told about everything that happened in a book I’d pick up my cousin’s story book because even that thing sparks my imagination more than this book. I wanted to feel sorry for my girl, but the writer gave me nothing to feel sorry for. If I felt bad, it was for the fact that Lyra must deal with an unstable man for the rest of her life and the duration of the book just for a good life (which she could have had without a certain psychotic man.)
The MCs names What in the bollocks were these names? Please tell me why you had to choose such basic names? I need to also ask, do you have any idea what these names mean? Let me guess, no. You just typed in names on Google and took the first thing your eyes landed on. Kaden is bums. Periodt. Lyra Hendrix, I apologize for the abuse you endured suffering a name as such. Lord knows you deserved better. Question, is Kayden Russian? I know that it doesn’t always work that way, but it’s the least the author could have done to respect Russians after giving us this. I honestly feel bad for Black women and Russians who read this cuz the abuse to my eyes felt more real than what Lyra had experienced. (Blame the writer for the poor writing and research done on such a sensitive matter 😊)
In conclusion I’d suggest reading the book to form an opinion. I stopped at chapter 24 (there’s over thirty chapters) because I felt my soul dying and my eyes crying for relief from the pain of continuing. I’m giving this book this review because it deserves nothing more and nothing less. I think the author should consult with her PA, publishers, proofreaders, sensitivity readers and herself again about this book to think long and hard about what the world had to read. I have more to say but I honestly think this is enough to make anyone reconsider their life choices and actions.
That stupid plot twist at the end ..I swear I found this book little bit interesting at some point than again it was boring than again interesting but the plot twist at the end ruined everything… because it changes the whole fucking story …The POVS and everything didn’t worked at all with the plot twist… You can’t introduced a plot twist suddenly like nothing and expect it to work 💀…
And this book is not dark at all 🥲 …sure ML killed so many but it was not dark ..it was meh 🫤 … I think anyone can read this book …
I swear I have read so many books that I found this book not so interesting… as far as dark romance is concerned this book didn’t passed the darkness vibe…
I don’t know where to begin. A lot of parts will make you say HELL NO! However keep reading, don’t stop til the very end! It’s worth it, this book is funny, disturbing, suspenseful, and touches real life issues that are often ignored because of wealth.
First read by this author and it WON’T be my last.
I am "old-school" and I am glad that Sienne Vega who is a great writer, by the way, placed warnings before reading this book. I am a fan of her writing so I took a chance. This was rough! Whew! Not really my cup-of-tea and all I can say is to "read at your own risk"! I doubt that I will read the next one to this story but it was a bit rough for me!
There are some authors; when I get to the end of a book, I say, “wtf did I just read?” But with a book by Author Sienne Vega, she’s the “God Damn, mmm.” And the “mmm” has an oomph to it, too.
I know when I’m going to DNF a book. It’s within the first few pages and doesn’t hook me, or I might stick it out longer, but my mind drifts. Note that I read fiction and don’t question many things in the stories because— it’s fiction. In “Cruel Delights,” a twisted, dark, and obsessive shmalker romance with a secret society, Sienne delivers the story you won’t want to put down.
From the start, readers are introduced to Lyra. And there are parts of her that I found most people can relate to. But what stood out was how Sienne established this character’s free-spirited yet chaotic ways without diminishing her. She is strong. And when I say the story is twisted, when Lyra bites off a guy, “johnson,” in front of everyone—oh my.
On the other hand, Kaden is the opposite of Lyra. He is a surgeon and a member of the Secret Society and S3x Club. Kaden is a rigid, authoritarian, and perfectionist person with unique proclivities. There is something about Lyra that he is drawn to, and he becomes obsessed with her. And when he says, “Little lamb,” to her—you wait and see.
Sienne Vega is a hidden gem of a writer. Her dark romance books are incredibly well-written and explore themes that would appeal to fans of the genre. The books I’ve read from her are not the lovey-dovey soft romance types. They all come with TW/CWs. But it’s not written for shock value. Her plot-heavy stories have well-thought-through character development and highly descriptive, steamy scenes. Cruel Delights is Book 1 in a trilogy. Book 2 is already out, and Book 3 is being released on February 21st.
Kaden Rascova encounters Lyra Hendrix at high society sex club where she is stumbling around unsupervised until security approaches her like they know why she's there—her expectations and theirs are on two totally different pages. When she realizes she's part of a sordid stage show, she vehemently objects and rightly defends herself before eluding security.
She makes it home but now there's a price on her and Kaden has been tasked with permanently neutralizing her. He stalks her and finds her daily life pretty pathetic but he becomes intrigued when he witnesses her after hours activities in the comfort of her bedroom.
Kaden orchestrates an accidentally on purpose meeting and is able to convince Lyra to go to lunch, they break bread, exchange phone numbers and decide to be friends. Lyra senses something dark inside of Kaden who is an enigma that never lets anyone get close.
Heed the warnings, this story is very, very dark and depraved and bad things happen to mostly bad people. Nearly everybody in this story is crazy with the exception of Lyra's friend Imani.
Supposedly, Lyra has sister who is mentioned a couple of times her backstory is never expounded upon and please tell me what happened to Taviar?
Let's talk about the ending. I didn't like it. It felt out of left field, contrived and mighty, mighty convenient and too damn neat. If darkness is your light, then read it, BUT if you're squeamish you might want to skip this one, you have been warned. Read at your own risk.
I won this book from Goodreads but was under the guise of being “Wicked little secret” by Sienne and I wasn’t sure what to expect.
I was definitely surprised at the ending considering the main character Lyra is portrayed as being this innocent “little lamb” / stoner in her own little world not knowing what’s going on around her. The actuality is she’s just as vicious and brutal as the opposing main character Kaden that is shown to be a callous, uncaring stalker/killer.
I do have trouble accepting the fact that someone who is clearly portrayed as a sociopath and a known killer by all their peers, somehow manages to become obsessed and falls for someone (anyone really) who is all things they despise. Lyra’s messy, she’s a stoner, broke as heck and can’t hold down a job. Meanwhile Kaden is obsessively clean, doesn’t drink or do drugs and is a surgeon just for fun because he’s ridiculously rich.
Overall it was an exciting read. I did read the entire thing in one day. I kept wanting to slap the heck out Lyra a few times for the stupid choices she makes and found another of the characters to be insanely desperate. She shows up over and over despite being told she’s unwanted, used over and over for rough horrible sex and pushed out nude with her clothes thrown at her and she still comes back for more even claiming they’re in love. How many delusional characters are there in one book? Apparently all of them.

I will keep her. She will be not only the first person I've spared, but the first person I intentionally hold onto.
By any means necessary.
4.8 stars °❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
i actually love this book for many reasons. kaden is the ultimate, good boy on the surface, darkness/serial killer in the back that is one of my FAV tropes. he is supposed to hate lyra, and instead becomes obsessed w her which i loved, and k!lls so much for her.😍
i absolutely love WOC fmcs since we never see them in literature much, and Vega delivered w Lyra. she is so strong and interesting to read about, and when the twist is revealed, chile u already know my mouth dropped. i was not expecting that at all , and it was sick to see kaden beat at his own game. absolute hidden gem.
✶⋆.˚ any vices/triggers/potential spoilers - there is OW/OM drama. kaden sleeps w OW after seeing lyra though not before they have interacted, though lyra sleeps w OM after talking to kaden. so that pissed me off tbh, both did, but mostly the author's decision to have lyra do that. it was like wtf. buttt honestly its just the two of them after that and kaden is very OTT, alpha male so its only then. i was gonna rate it 4 stars bcuz of that but theres not a cliffhanger so i digress 🫡
- abuse is hinted at a lot in the book, but never delved into detail. i wanted to know more, though it seemed triggering for them both.
Please please read the trigger warnings before you read this. It’s not for the faint hearted. This was so so good. My jaw dropped the last couple pages and I was never able to close it back 💀 this was morbid, s*xy, dark and disturbing. Ms Vega was not playing when she said Kaden would NOT be redeemed. He’s not a Salvatore or a Gio, there is no softness to him underneath his hard exterior. He’s almost incapable of emotion, all he’s capable of is obsession, and he chose Lyra to be on the receiving end. There’s a plot twist that you will never see coming, I will not leave any spoilers at all, you gotta read it for yourself. This is not a morally grey hero at all, he is morally dark and s*xy AF. 👀
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I hope to see more of this from this author. I love all her books but I think I might like the darker side a lot more.
