What do you do when you're ordered to kill the only man you've ever loved? Follow through, of course…
The princesses of House Sun are not known by name or face. They are known only as vipers. Nine assassins who serve The Serpent, ruler of Solaria. Celeste is the last viper to be dispatched. Her mission is infiltrate the Lunar kingdom and kill The Demon Prince. Simple. There's only one problem. Apollo Alceline of House Luna is a mark unlike any other.
Apollo knows all too well how fatal The Serpent's bite can be. It cost him his mother, his hearing, and his father his sanity. That's why when the Lunar king suddenly passes, and Apollo takes his place, he knows he must uphold his dying wish—to see The Serpent burn. So when a beautiful viper, dangerous and cunning, with skin blessed by the light, is thrust into his lap, he knows he cannot let her linger. But as Celeste spends more time in the shadows, Apollo finds himself desperate to taste the sun.
The fight for the celestial planes has reached a fever pitch. Apollo and Celeste stand at the center, orbiting the inevitable collapse. But before the sun eclipses the moon, they must decide where their loyalties lie—to their houses or each other.

She hopes that by sharing her work, more women will have the opportunity to see themselves in the stories they love. When she isn’t working, she loves spending time with her two dogs in her Colorado home and eating more bread than any health care professional would recommend.
I really enjoyed this book. I was completely hooked and vested in Apollo and Celeste. I was super interested in the world, but that is where the story falls short. I wanted more information and details about the world of the Celestials. And the very end was lacking. I still don't know what really happen and I read the last two chapters 2 times. If the author writes more in this world, I will read it because I want more! Happy reading.
My only critic is that I wish it was longer. Also wished that it was a longer series because I loved the world building, and the characters were captivating. The story had great pacing and got straight to the point. A must-read for a lazy afternoon. I'm definitely going to check out more stories from R.A. Moreau.
Oh my gosh! This book was amazing for so many reasons!
Celestial is the daughter of the Serpent, the leader of Solaria. She has spent her entire life training as a viper, a deadly assassin who carries out her leaders missions. When she is sent to the Lunar kingdom to handle the Demon Prince, she doesn’t bat an eye.
Celeste is calculating, bold, and defiant. She soon learns things aren’t as they seem, and starts to question her mission. Especially since Apollo, the Demon Prince, is so darn alluring.
Most people fear him based on his appearance along, but Celeste doesn’t run in fear. She’s not afraid to tell him no and he loves that about her. His love for her is so pure, it warms my heart.
The author did not skip on the spice either 👀 Apollo is quite the giver.
You’ll love this if you love 🖤 shadow daddies 🖤 men with horn, fangs, or tails 🖤 assassin/badass FMCs 🖤 hurt/care
This was a fun take on celestial gods and a very unique magic system! I love that both MC’s were seen as monsters/evil and seeing them come together was so sweet! Unfortunately I found the world building to be lacking, it made it hard to grasp things for most of the book. It also felt rushed at times, especially the ending. For the FMC, I found her to a slightly dull and wish we had more character development like we did with the MMC. Overall this was a fun unique take on fantasy romance and I’m interested to see where this series goes as it hints that the next book may follow another viper!
There relationship was everything🙃 I don’t even know what to say I just wanna read it for the first time again 100 more times 😭😭
I really hope there is another book I wanna know what happened to the serpent, her sisters and the people of Solaria I also want a wedding for Celeste and Apollo that would be everything 😖
My heart was crushed when Evalina passed and also for Apollo and Raye.

Admittedly I preordered this last year and just now read it and dammit I should have done it sooner…the world building sucks you in and the representation is top tier. I really enjoyed Apollo and Celeste as a couple very Beauty and Beast like…love it. I hope there is a follow up book because I can’t imagine the Serpent just relented
This was a nice quick fantasy I suppose. Nothing exceptional to note but I somewhat enjoyed it. I really wanted more from this book though. It felt very rushed and lacked some much needed world building and character development. Not as much depth or yearning as I was hoping for and I’m still not sure what happened in the end…again, it was quite rushed. So it sort of fell flat. I think if this were to have been a longer book or possibly a series it really could have been great! The premise seemed intriguing and there was so much potential here. It could be a good intro to romantacy for some.
Celeste is a fierce assassin from House Sun sent to take down Apollo, the Demon Prince of the Lunar kingdom. When these two meet there is undeniable attraction, and their journey from enemies to lovers is intense and fun to read. They’re torn between loyalty to their kingdoms and their connection that could change everything.
I loved the dynamic between Celeste and Apollo. The tension, banter, and chemistry kept me hooked! This book also brings fresh representation with a deaf character and a wonderfully diverse cast. Honestly, I enjoyed it so much that I almost wished it was longer! If you’re into high-stakes fantasy romance with strong heroines, complex heroes, and plenty of action, definitely check this one out.
