I'm a huge fan of Kathie Lee. I love her passion for the Lord and her commitment to sharing her faith everywhere she goes. Because I'm a fan, I've read several of her books, so I was disappointed to buy this new book and find the same stories that I've read before. I thought it would be a devotional type of book, with more spiritual insights and leading back to scripture. But it's not.
It's basically her personal stories and a short question at the end of each story. Not really any wisdom added or spiritual lesson offered.
If you've never read her other books, then this would be an enjoyable place to start. If you have read her other books, you won't need this one.
At first I loved her stories and looked forward to them everyday. She told some things that were deep and I appreciated her honesty. As the book went on I felt as though it was an advertisement to every song she ever wrote. I just lost interest even though I finished it. It was like she ran out of good stories and had to start grasping at straws to fill 60 days.
This is the most ‘Real’ devotion book I’ve ever read. It hits at all the right life points. It’s witty, charming, gut wrenching, introspective, turn to Jesus and more without being judgmental, dry or dogmatic. I highly recommend this to anyone of any faith who needs a good start to the day. Thank you Kathie for writing and sharing from your heart and soul!
Well, I finished it, but wish this book had been more than 60 days. Kathie Lee is transparent in sharing some of her darkest and brightest seasons/moments of her life. She inspires and encourages with thoughtful questions at the end of each day's offering.
I listened to the audio book read by Kathy Lee Gifford. She was one of the best readers I listened to and I listen to a lot of books. Her stories are short but relevant and inspiring. It’s a quick worthwhile read.
