Dream and his sister, Delirium, are walking the waking world in search of their long-lost brother, Destruction. They've made contacts and arranged transportation--and, thanks to Delirium, they have frogs to spare--but their presence in the waking world is beginning to cause some strange behavior in those they meet.
"The People Who Remember Atlantis-Concerning Mammoths, and Falling Walls-Who Controls Transportation?-Bored, She Makes Little Frogs-Truth or Consequences, and Other Places-Ancestral Voices Prophesying-The Dogs of Art-"When I Dream, Sometimes I Remember How"
One very old person dies, another narrowly avoids death. Dream and Delirium acquire transportation. They are traveling in the physical world to find their long-departed brother, Destruction, who does not wish to be found. An old friend of Dream's arranges their travel plans.
How well do you know your neighbors? Your friends? Your lovers? Walk the streets of any city, and stare carefully at the people who pass you, and wonder, and know this: They are there too. The Old ones.
Dream accompanies Delirium in her search for Destruction. He starts by going to an old friend, who is in the business of Transportation. We are also introduced to the Old Ones, those who have lived longer than normal mortals. The addition of Barnabus, the dog who takes "keeping it real" to new heights, brings this up to 5 stars!
Very happy to come back to the mainstream plots surrounding Dream and his family members. Listened to the audio-experience Audible Act 3 which encompasses Volumes 7-8 (Brief Lives and Worlds' End)[1], the Sandman Special #1, and other short stories from Vertigo: Winter's Edge #1 & #3 and Vertigo Preview #1.
Looking forward to more backstories and "day in the lives" for other family members such as Desire, and Despair as we've seen with Dream and Death.
Jap, da ist wieder die spielerische Leichtigkeit in den tiefen Gedanken, die Sandman so besonders macht. Und Delirium umd die Frösche? Einfach zauberhaft.
