Kong: The Great War #5

Rate this book
From the fevered pen of ALEX COX and the master brush of TOMMASO BIANCHI comes a haunting tale of gore and ape-shaped death! In this issue, our heroes finally reach the safety of high ground as they scale the deadly island’s skull-shaped mountain. Safe from Kong (for the moment!), they can see human civilization in the distance. But will the cave in which they have taken refuge prove to be a sanctuary — or a mortuary?!?

OK, that was also a pretty effective issue. This one had the most horrific and awful death yet, this time referencing the 2005 film. We also get another awful encounter with Kong, who remains really frightening (reminds me a bit of the Titans from Attack on Titan). We also get more references to the movies, a big old dive off the mountain, that sort of thing. Still, I am curious how this is going to wrap up.

The crew keeps losing men. Will any survive? Exciting conclusion next.
