Charity is a book in the Virtues Fairytales Series and in the same shared world as the Sinners Fairytale Series. It is a Dark Contemporary RH fairytale retelling of Beauty and the Beast. While it is one of the books in a shared world it is also a standalone and can be read on its own.
What a read! I really enjoyed this retelling of Beauty and the Beast. It does not fall in the norm of retellings where you’re literally reading a mirror image of the original story. It’s a unique take on Beauty and the Beast and so are the characters. Foxy is one hell of a woman. She’s confident, independent, takes no sh$t, and for most of the time, knows what she wants. Beau and Theodore will melt your heart and surprise you in many ways! As they say, never judge a book by its cover. I also fell in love with Foxy’s brother Alonzo. I’d love a story about him.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. Alexandra K Martin has started the series with an awesome retelling.
**Favourite Character** Kate: Foxy because she's strong, independent and knows what she wants
**Favourite Scene** Kate: "You should be ashamed of yourself", she grumbles and practically runs out of the small space we were sharing, you know in case slut was contagious.
Rating: 3.5
**Summary** We both agree that we don't particularly know where the beauty and beast retelling comes through but it's a good story, regardless. The writing is great, and easy to follow along. Although this story didn't really hit home for us, we did feel that this story was well written with strong characters who had a great dynamic.
Ok, so, I'm not sure if I missed something, but it didn't feel quite beauty and the beast to me personally. I do, however, love the dynamics between the characters and love how Foxy is independent and has her own mind.
Theodore and Beau are the two MMCs in this story, and I can't say that I'm a big fan of either. However, did like Foxy's brothers.
It's definitely an interesting story. Give it a go.
