That was a amazing read!! Macy has lived a very hard life. Living in some very unsavory places. That is until she went up on the auction block, what just happened. Juriah, an Eldering, is sampling what the Earth realm has to offer. Moss is not exactly what they were expecting. They decide they want to leave. That is until Juriah hears someones heart cry out for help. He wins the bid pays with fake cash and they have to fight their way out. Macy is guarded and confused. Juriah is just as confused about his feelings for Macy but he knows he can't live without her. This was a great story from the start. Seeing that unconditional love can bring someone from the edge and learn to trust again. Love is never easy but when its true love, it can heal all wounds. This series is getting better as it goes, highly recommend this read along with the rest of the series. Layla is a talented author who knows how to capture your attention!

Bodhe is not happy when, as a civilian informer, he is partnered with a writer called Thalia. It is hated at first sight and not just for him, but her too.
Thalia always wants to try out her book ideas to make them authentic, however she did not realise how hard ti would be to work with a partner that is snide and condescending all the time.
This is such a fun read: how Thalia didn’t resort to violence I do not know, there were so many ‘laugh out loud moments’, which contributed to my very easy recommendation for this book.

Finally another Elderling gets a happily ever after. I felt sad for Juriah and his mate for all they went thru, especially his mate. I wish they had found her previous alpha. Percy deserved more than he got.

Great story
I did like the story telling, but there were a lot of scenes that required explaining about what was really going on.
