Even though I was born in Sheffield and some of the book is set there I have to say that this is not my kind of book. Too much description of things I either don't need describing or that I'm not interested in for this narrative to find a place in my heart.
I still have to read Touching The Void but I have to say that this makes me less likely to look forward to it. Too light on story and heavy on description. Sad characters with inimal progression. Heavy going.
Read this if you're Joe's close relatives. But then again, don't.
