I never should’ve trusted a biker.

My life was already falling apart before he showed up. When he knocked me up, he promised he’d be there to support us. But then he disappeared and left us to fend for ourselves. That asshole. I wasn’t expecting him to turn up dead when I went to the club looking for him. So now I’ve got to raise our son on my own, while fending off his ‘brotherhood’ who can’t take a hint. I don’t need a man to rescue me and I’m not looking to join their little club. No matter how good looking their members are.

She’s my dead brother’s woman.

So why the hell can’t I walk away? I told myself it was for the club. She had his kid and he wasn’t around anymore to care for them. But I wasn’t fooling anyone. Much less myself. I want her. Plain and simple. And when a new rival club starts sniffing around, I’m gonna do whatever I need to do in order to protect her and her kid. Starting with claiming her. She isn’t interested, but she’ll learn. She’s earned the loyalty of a devil, and we play for keeps.

DNF. Lacey is always screaming at people and she’s horrid!

Lacey had a son with Mass, who was killed in a previous book. As she’s struggling financially to look after her son, she goes to the Mc for help from him. She doesn’t know that he’s dead and goes mad at the Mc about what a waste of space he is. When Brewer shows her his grave, she’s still ranting later on in the book, how he let her down. 😡😡 Sorry but she’s a b😡tch!

When she’s working as a stripper, she overhears a plot to kill the men of the Mc, and sell the women. So instead of telling them what them men said, she insults Croy (The president.) and his relationship, and tries to leave the club, I REALLY HATE LACEY. To make the book worse, the Mc men point their guns at Lacey.

What happened to this series?? I really liked the first book, but it’s downhill from there. I was really looking forward to this one as well.

Lacey is a fuckin badass who takes zero shit, and I love how Brewer wins her over.
And Diego! Oh my god. So fucking cute, especially with Brewer.

Lacey is furious with Mass, a biker who promised he would help with their son. Having enough she storms Devil's Disciple's MC wanting answers. She had no clue he had died and now she is in worse shape than she already was, what little hope she had for financial support is gone.

Brewer doesn't know anything about Lacey, but the club takes care of their own and her son is one of their own. Lacey fights every chance she gets and makes it clear she is not a charity case, the attraction between these two is strong but Brewer feels he has to stay away from Mass's girl, even if he is gone. His protective instinct snaps though when Lacey lashes out against the MC, Brewer decides enough is enough and he is going to claim the woman who is untameable.

This was a bit more angsty then I expected. Lacey has a major chip on her shoulder and it took awhile to warm up to her. I liked Brewer a lot and thought he was great with Diego and had great chemistry with Lacey. Entertaining.

eh

So I liked this book. Story was good. I was happy the crew got a piece of Mass with them!! Loved the MMC brewer!!! He was so good. I was surprised since we read small parts of him. But the FMC. Nope! I hated that the writer put her nasty attitude in being Latina. Because we definitely not all like that. This chick was just nasty!! Omgosh the only thing I give her is being a good mother. Aside from that Lacey sucked! I was embarrassed of the way she acted then always said she was Latina. Another selfish mean chick. Also I hate how Croy has been. Last book he put Clink a recovering addict in a situation where he had to continue to relapse and struggle. I was disappointed in that because he always preaching how he loves his crew and needs to protect them. But then used him like that. And he did the same with Lacey. Horrible. Lost respect for him in these last 2 books

Lacey was awful. She really was the biggest bitch to everyone. Brewer just wanted to help her but she just had to be difficult. I understand that Lacey wanted to be independent but sometimes as a mother you need to put your pride aside and do what is best for your child. Lacey went to the DD clubhouse to find Mass. He promised he would help with Diego and when he “disappeared “ Lacey became a bitter hateful bitch. Brewer and the crew just wanted to due right by her and Diego because of Mass. Throughout this whole book she was a Cee U Next Tuesday and if I was Brewer I wouldn’t have put up with her 💩.

This was a struggle to finish. It seems to be hit or miss with this series. Hopefully Chase’s book will be better.

I liked this book.

I liked the storyline, the banter and the spice. I did struggle with the fmc with how stubborn she was but then that's her character. That's who she is and the more I got into the book the more I really liked her stubborness.

The banter was funny and had me laughing. But I loved how Mass was mentioned in every book and how he played a part with everyone. And it made me sad that he didn't get to meet his son 😭

Quote I laughed at:
“What? You think I’d sign it with my road name?” “No. But it's a little funny that I’m marrying you and I didn’t even know your real name, Nicolas.”

Quote I loved:
“Do me a favor, baby. Don’t ever change.”

such a great read

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The characters just pulled me in until I just wanted to be a part of their crew. Strong macho but good guys and ole ladies who support each other and take no prisoners. Lots of romance getting to know each other, lots of MC angst and fighting bad guys, lost relatives reappear, and throw a baby boy into the mix and it became a Book i am going to enjoy again and again. Highly recommend. HEA, no cheating, no cliffhanger.

Need to be a strong woman for a tough life!

Lacey is a strong and very independent woman. She finally comes to the club to get help from her baby's father but is told he is dead. Brewer is determined to help her even if she doesn't want his help. Lacey does not trust easily especially men. She is quite the firecracker! Totally enjoyed this story!

meh

I really wanted to love this story. Because Brewer was fantastic. But I just didn’t like Lacey. She was mean and mouthy just to be mean and mouthy. And the the few moments she was actually likable just weren’t enough to over shadow that

Great series!

I really enjoyed this series. It is a 1% MC, that treats women right. They love their families and that's good. I enjoyed the ol'ladies attitudes. They are funny and tough. Check this series out if you need a good one to read.

Good read

This is a sad tale that does have a happy ending but it is a long road to get there. Lacey is working as a stripper to support herself and son but enough is enough. When she finds out what happened to her sons father her world goes into tailspin.

Brewer & Lacey

This is the fifth book in the series, and I loved the plot of it. However Lacey is definitely not my favorite heroine, Brewer deserves so much better.

Enjoyable but Uncomfortabke

Love strong female characters but it takes something to make a lead character that is unlikable!!! I found some of Lacey’s interactions with others just downright uncomfortable, painful and rude. And her character was so unpleasant, it seemed as if she was almost bullying the other women.
The storyline was great but it was only towards the end when Lacey became tolerable. It was the first time where I didn’t care if the lead female character came to a sticky end. Enjoyed it but it made uncomfortable reading.
