Another delicious alpha cowboy with a fiery leading lady 🙌🏼🖤

I’ve been waiting for Grace and Parker since the release of the last book in this series and their story didn’t disappoint. It was the perfect mix of angst, humor and steam. Just like the rest of the series, I couldn’t help but fall in love with the growly cowboy who had to work through his issues and the leading lady that had to stop getting in her own way.

I couldn’t put this baby down and read it in one go, needing to find out I how their love story ended. In true Garland fashion, the author teased us with the next book in this series. Declan and Sierra! I cannot wait 🙌🏼🙌🏼🤩🤩

I love Wild Heart and can’t get enough. Thankfully, with every book we get glimpses of past characters, making it feel like I hadn’t lost them 🖤 overall, this was another amazing read and I highly reccomend if you’re in the mood for good ‘ol boys, humor, and sizzling steam 🙌🏼🖤

The Cowboy's Christmas Bride is Book 5 in Deborah Garland's 'Wild Texas Hearts' series. Thank you to Grey's Promo for the ARC for me to read and review. I leave this review with full honesty and transparency, without leaving any spoilers.

I know many wouldn't want to dive into something Christmassy so soon, but I was keen as mustard to have my own slice of festive fun, cowboy in tow, with this read which by the blurb alone promised so much. Cowboys and Christmas? It's truly an (early) Christmas miracle! How could I not resist two of my favourite things, combined into one read? Simple answer, I couldn't.

Before reading 'The Cowboy's Christmas Bride', I had yet to dive into this world and into the series, this was my first introduction into the world these characters have been written into and the complexity that is an interwoven series which has already had so many books in the series published. This though, did not prove to be a problem. Deborah carefully laid out exactly who was whom, who was related/tied to whom, and who did what. I wasn't left floundering to make any connections or to try and piece together how each character played their part. I thank Deborah for doing this as by now those who would've read the previous four books, they would already know all of this. For those of us just diving in, this is a great help.

Parker and Grace went way beyond a delight to get to know, as I would often say about reading and getting to know main characters. I'm a sucker for a cowboy and a romance between him and his lady (or man!), and these two roped me right on in. As this was not their first rodeo together, it cut out the awkward getting to know someone stage of a relationship, and instead in its place was buried angst, steam, attraction and chemistry like no other. Additionally, having not one but both of these two main characters harbouring a secret of some kind--you'll have to pick up a copy of this book to find out what they are, wink wink--is a welcome change from the usual one of two main characters. We got to see how both worked around and overcame those secrets buried deep, without it overpowering or cramming the story with too much content to swamp the reader. It was done just right.

Not to mention how funny this read was! Humour helps things at the best--or rather, worst--of times, and injecting bubbles and pockets of humour in moments where things were sometimes very serious or daunting, provided perfect light relief which had me chuckling rather than reaching for that ever-present box of tissues we readers have, just in case of an impromptu sob-fest at those emotional moments. Humour, like one of Deborah's reads, is always welcome.

What also has to be recognised in this book, all thanks to the author, is how again tough subjects are approached and are laid out. More often than not, certain elements like trauma, emotionally tough times in everyday life, or painful memories are mentioned in books without tact or careful consideration to those who have been through similar situations. Deborah, however, does not do this and I was in awe of how she tackled the tricker topics while firstly, explaining how the characters went through them, secondly, how they came out the other side and thirdly, how both experiences the main characters went through were valid and not to be ashamed of. Both Parker and Grace went through very traumatic experiences and were treated--as if they were real--with the respect and were thought about mindfully. Deborah did not use their experiences merely as a tool to craft a book, but highlighted those experiences and did not cast shame, shade or disrespect. That, for me, is always a huge deal and I myself after reading their (Parker & Grace's) stories, was left with a whole new sense of admiration for Deborah for writing it, and for everyone in real life who went through the same or similar.

Perhaps what pleased me most of all about this read, was the happily ever after. I don't pick up reads that don't guarantee a happily ever after, and Deborah gives Parker and Grace such a sublime happily ever after, I wanted to go back to the first page to read how they got there again!

Sometimes curveballs are thrown in at the last minute to put that happily ever after on the back burner but after everything that went down between and for Parker and Grace, I was left contented to read just how they got their happily ever after, and what could possibly be next for them as we get a teaser to the next book in the series.

Although this is my first Deborah Garland read, it most certainly won't be the last.

Parker, Grace & Deborah have well and truly put me in the saddle, ridden me hard and have me won over and cantering towards whatever comes our way next.

Five stars!

From the moment Grace realizes her best friend’s future brother-in-law is her mysterious baby daddy, Hawk, from a one night stand 9 years ago her life is a non-stop rollercoaster of emotions, angst, misunderstandings and more.

Hawk/Parker Rhodes has stayed away from his home town for nine years because he is ashamed of his scars and worsening eyesight in his left eye after a head injury caused him to lose two years of his memory. He is a grumpy 44-year old cowboy who is more than a bit put out with having to come back to his hometown to be best man at his brother’s Christmas Eve wedding.

Parker is pure alpha and is determined to go back to Wyoming to work on the cattle ranch where he’s worked as a herder for years. He has been offered the foreman position and expects Grace and their son Owen to pick up and leave their lives in Texas to relocate to very rural Wyoming.

The storyline really caught my interest in the sneak peak the author provided at the end of the prior book, so I was eager to read this story. I did enjoy it, finding it entertaining and well written; however, the level of angst and drama caused when the two main characters continued to jump to conclusions instead of talking to each other was nearly too much for my personal preference in romance books. The steam factor between Grace and Parker sizzles in several scenes.

I loved how the author has characters from previous books in the series make appearances and involvement in the next books in the series so you get to see how their story is going. As characters, Grace, and Parker are both engaging and relatable, they just seem to jump to conclusions quickly and then start spinning up their emotions over something they ‘think’ or suspect is going to happen before finding out what is really going on.

Talk about all the emotions!! We saw a snippet of what was to come in the last book, The Cowboy’s Rebel Heart. Knowing that we were going to find out who Owen’s father is had me chomping at the bit to read this one!!!

Grace has been a single-mom for eight years to Owen. She never expected her one-night stand to lead to the life she now has but wouldn’t change anything in the world. Despite not truly knowing who the father is, she never expected the surprise she gets during a family engagement.

Parker has been living on a cattle ranch in Wyoming. Too ashamed to come back home after an accident, he has stayed away for nine years now. With the news of his brother’s engagement, he has been summoned home. Despite his reservations in going back home, he never expects the shock of a lifetime that awaits him.

I loved all the ups and downs this book gave because you can completely see both sides as the story unfolds. The feelings in this one are so strong but understandable. Great read!

Wow. There’s so much to unpack here. This book was incredible…. Wow!!

Grace is a single mother who has a nine-year old son. Nine years ago she met a man in a bar and well, she was left with a child. She absolutely loves Owen. She’s working and going to school. Her best friend is getting married. And the best man for that wedding…. Her sons father.

Parker is a cattle rancher(I think, I know very little about working on a ranch) who was in a serious accident nine years ago. That accident left him with two years of lost memories and serious scars….. with those two years gone, he has no idea who grace is.

They get their HEA!!

The Cowboy's Christmas Bride ~ Wild Texas Hearts #5 by Deborah Garland.

This is the second book from Deborah that I have read, the first being #4. I totally loved this one more.

This is Parker aka Hawk and Grace' s story, this is filled with loads of emotions.

Grace single mom, meet Hawk nine years ago at The Whistling Frog~result Owen;)

Hawk went back to Wyoming had a a severe head injury that caused him to lose two years of memory.

Nine years later, Parker is needed back home for his brother Walker's wedding.

Will he remember Grace? Will seeing Grace again bring back his memories?

This is a fabulous book that is truly very well-written, they way Deborah has told this story brings the characters to life, so much do that you feel you are there too.

I have purchased the other books in the series and I believe there will be a further two to come.
Excellent book, thank you, Deborah loving this series. Looking forward to the next.

I highly recommend The Cowboy's Christmas Bride.

I don’t read a lot of books about cowboys because they’re just not one of the genres I care for; however, I stumbled into this series by accident and I’ve loved every single one of the books I’ve read. This book is no exception..

The sparks between Parker (Hawk) and Grace blazed from first glance. Even when he lost his memory of the two year time frame during which he met her, she haunted his dreams to the point where he sketched her. While he couldn’t remember knowing how to sketch well, his sketch of the woman haunting his dreams was amazingly accurate. The sketching ability likely came from the head trauma.

Grace realized that Parker was the brother of her best friend’s new fiancé. She met Emma and Walker after Parker had left town and had become good friends with them. She was stunned to find out Parker was Walker’s brother. Considering how close knit Walker and Parker’s family was, I was truly surprised his parents had no family photos hanging in their home. That Grace had not seen a picture of Parker in the 9 years he was away from his hometown boggles the mind, but that’s the way it goes for books like this to work out.

On the bright side, happily ever afters do exit. Despite Parker’s memory issues, Parker is drawn to Grace all over again. He’s got some big shocks coming his way though.

At the end, there’s a teaser for the next book. I can’t help but feel for the hurt coming for the heroine in the next book.

While there is no need to read every story in this series to enjoy each book, you do get a better feeling for the town and the people in it if you’ve read the prior books.

I adored this story. It is part of an interconnected series but I read it as a standalone. I loved all the characters and felt invested in the town and its people. And I went in to reading it thinking it was a Christmas-y romance out of season, but in actuality Christmas only played a tiny role in the story.

This is the story of Parker and Grace (and her son Owen). These two have a passionate one night stand and due to communication issues and life circumstance they don't meet again for another 9 years. Grace plays an integral part in helping Parker come to terms with coming home and piecing together his missing memories following an accident leaving him with amnesia. Despite the seriously lacking communication between these two and their huge insecurities there is a beauty in how they find their way back to one another. And the HEA is adorably swoonworthy.

I'll be honest I loved Parker but simultaneously wanted to snack him upside the head. I understood his journey and his frustration but his inability to compromise is super frustrating. He gets there though with a bit of patience and guidance. I think his saving grace is Grace. Her strength and independence gives you confidence that she won't be swayed to do anything her heart isn't commited to. And my heart soared that Owen keeps her name. I think this is the best bit of quiet everyday feminism I've read in a romance book.

This is a surprisingly emotional love story across 9 years with an age gap element. It has heat and bit of domineering dirty talk, but overall is just a lovely happily ever after.

Parker got the call that his younger brother walker was getting married he know it was time to go home and face the music why he hasn't been back in years no one in the family apart from his mother know of the accident that took two years of memory away, grace came to the town after running away from a colt at nineteen all alone and just trying to sarvive, after a long shift at motel she worked she come to a bar to watch the game and that's where she met hawk alot older then her but age never matter to her she just wanted to feel alive and if one night he can give her that's what she'll take, nine years later grace and her son Owen are going to get the shock of there life but will hawk remember that night when he founds out that grace is friends with his brother and his fiancee Emma. Will hawk aka parker realise the girl he left behind grace all those years ago. This is a good read I would recommend

Parker left home nine years ago and as a result of an accident Parker (Hawk) lost some of his memories. These memories cover a two year time period, during which he met Grace, but he has no idea who the woman who haunts his dreams is. He may not know who she is or what they shared but he can see her face so clearly that he can sketch her. He can’t remember knowing how to sketch before his accident but his sketch of the woman haunting his dreams is so lifelike and he will later discover accurate.

Grace was with Parker nine years ago and what they shared was intense but then he left without her knowing who his family were. But when her best friend is about to marry she discovers that the Best Man, the brother of her best friend’s fiancé, is Parker.

When Parker returns home for the wedding he's shocked to meet the woman he's been dreaming about and is drawn to Grace, but will they get past the nine-year absence? There are certainly some big surprises in store for him regardless of how things work out.

I enjoyed this second chance story, I loved the characters and enjoyed meeting again some of the characters from the earlier books in this series.

Their Unexpected Family -
Grace had given up finding her son’s father, but everything changed during a celebratory call announcing her best friend’s upcoming wedding. Whilst Parker was trying to rebuild his life after his accident, he hadn’t even contemplated on the revelation that he was a father. The chemistry between Parker, Owen and Grace during their initial encounter felt right, but Parker wasn’t sure why he felt the need to get close to Grace. It would take spending time together and the disclosure of a long held secret, for decisions to be made.

This is a wonderful story about two people getting a second chance at love, when they least expected it. Their journey to a happily ever after, is interesting and worth your time reading about it, so I urge you to pickup your copy of this book today.

This is the first book of the author I read and I think I enjoy reading her writing style. The story is about the second chance for a one-night-stand and a secret baby which both are my favorite. I also like small town and cowboy so it isn't hard to give the book a try. Grace and Parker are an age-gap opposites attraction but their chemistry is sizzling from the beginning. I sometimes think Grace is more mature than Parker though. The main plot is intriguing because Grace's plans to tell Parker about their child seem to be changed all the time and I can't guess what will happen next. The reason I give the book 4.5 stars is because I think Parker is so stubborn and selfish sometime. I am grateful that he finally sees some lights at the end but I still want to smack his head. If blooding cowboy is your favorite, I recommend you reading this book. Parker may seems to rough around the edges but he isn't hard to love.

I’ve read and enjoyed all the books in the series, but THE COWBOY’S CHRISTMAS BRIDE is my favorite. Accidental baby, single mom, age gap, small town, amnesia - it has it all, and adds in a dollop of drama and angst to make it even better.

Parker is the rugged cowboy that takes to 8 year old Owen without knowing Owen is his son. Grace had a one night stand with Parker and never forgot him, but also only knew him as “Hawk”. The story deals with Parker’s memory loss and the decision to tell everyone he’s Owen’s father with the backdrop of Christmas and his brother’s wedding.

I really liked how Deborah Garland set us up for the next story in the series by connecting one of the critical characters to Parker.

A lot of holiday romances are shorter or more focused on the holiday, but this one has all the steam, substance and intensity of all the other books in the series.

The fifth book of this series was a beautifully written story of a cowboy with amnesia struggling to remember the girl he left behind all those years ago. I waited months for this book to come out, but I was expecting far more spit and fire when Parker (Hawk) returned to Wild Heart, Texas from Wyoming for his brother, Walker's wedding. He met and lost his heart to Grace Westbrook on his last night in town after his parents anniversary celebration. He left town early the next morning, only to get back to Wyoming to find the ranch under attack by rustlers, within days he was hurt in an accident leaving him seriously scared and with amnesia. As a result, he had lost two years worth of his memory, and he had stayed away from his family for nine years to prevent them from finding out about the accident. Parker kept a journal attempting to piece his life back together, he had gathered most missing parts from the other cowboys and their girlfriends at the ranch. His mother, the only family member that knew about the accident filled in what she could about the party. He had one memory of a woman he could not place anywhere. He had made a sketch of her he placed in his journal that he looked at frequently. All he knew was she was very important to him, even with the sketch and frequent dreams of Grace, he did not recognize her when he saw her again. I was expecting some memory connection, when he saw Grace again especially with a child that looked like him being eight years old with instant chemistry between all three of them, but there was nothing not a flicker. He thought she was beautiful and all plus, he liked the kid. He had a low opinion of the guy that left them behind not one glimmer that that man might have been him. Anytime he inadvertently did to hurt Grace's feelings, which was rather frequently, he could never figure out what he did. He was really self centered thinking only of himself most of the time. I would have liked to have read about the reaction to the cowboys in Wyoming learning Hawk had a son. They had stood beside him all those years. Also, we were thrown a few very interesting surprises in this book such as when Walker and Emma did not get married on their wedding day, but there was still a wedding anyway. There was an exciting look into the next book of this series with Declan. He was also the one to help Parker put the last pieces of his memory together in helping him decide what he needed to do in this show stopping story.

This book features a wonderful second chance at love with a few twists and a good dose of angst. I loved the characters in this book. Grace is a strong, independent and resilient single mother. Parker (Hawk) is a brawny, tough and proud cowboy haunted by dreams of a woman her can’t remember but knows is someone important to him. They both effortlessly drew me into their wonderful story. I was captivated by and emotionally invested in their love journey.

Fate brought a young, innocent pixie and a muscled giant of a cowboy together nine years ago. Grace and Hawk (Parker) had an instant connection, shared a very passionate night that sparked something deep within their souls, and then parted. Grace was left with a souvenir of their night together, a son who she has raised on her own. She has made a good life for them both, but has never forgotten her son’s father. Hawk as he called himself, returned to his job and life far away from his family. An accident days after their tryst left him unable to remember Grace or his intention to return to her because she had captured his heart. Pride and stubbornness have kept him away from his family for nine years, but now he is returning home for the wedding of his brother and Emma, Grace’s best friend.

Parker’s family and Grace are shocked to discover his memory loss and unsure of how to proceed. Grace now knows his true identity, and what happened years ago, but how can she tell the man she could never forget, that she longed for over the years, about his son when he doesn’t even remember her? The story that follows is filled with a renewed connection, a growing bond between father and son, sexy, steamy encounters and a whole lot of emotional turmoil. Grace and Parker have made different lives for themselves and live in two different states. How can they possibly make a life together without one of them having to sacrifice their dreams? Will a love found lead to more heartbreak?

OVERALL RATING –5 stars

First my usual points:

- I do not do spoilers unless warned.
- Read the summary above; it will tell you what the book is about. I will not reiterate.
- This is a standalone but part of a series. Best enjoyed in order but not necessary.
- No errors that I caught as far as editing.
- The author was not new to me

BOOK:
- Contemporary romance
- 1st person with dual POV
Other characters from the series:
-- other characters from the first books make appearances with very little involvement of a supporting, move the story along
-- main characters’ story is concluded

Star Ratings - 1 (poor) - 5(READ THIS BOOK)
· Writing Quality: 5 stars
· Story ingredient: 5 stars
· Ease of reading/Pace: 5 stars
· Plot strength: 5 stars
· Steam Level: M/F, dirty talk with romance and open door scenes but not explicitly graphic

Notes/Opinion (personal):
The prodigal cowboy returns home. This was an absolutely wonderful ending to the series (for now as I understand we have another cowboy waiting patiently for his turn). This is an age gap romance, which I typically do not care for, but I love this author’s work. This did not feel like an age gap – at all. We’ve met the heroine, Grace, from the start of the series and gotten to know her a bit. Parker, we’ve heard about but never met. This is their story. It is sweet, romantic, funny and steamy, all in one. And we get to catch up with everyone else from prior books (which is something that I love about this author’s work). I have enjoyed this ‘ride’ from the start and as always, look forward to what else will come from Ms. Garland.

Absolutely fell in love with this book and these characters!

After a traumatic family event has Grace on the run she ends up in a small town in Texas. There, she finds people who welcome her and become the friends that are family. She slowly starts to put her life together with those around her being the support and love she needs. Her best friend Emma is going to marry Walker, who is Parker’s younger brother.

Parker lives in Wyoming and after an accident on the ranch he works on steals some of his memories he gets a call to come home to stand up for his brother at his wedding. When he arrives, he has no idea what he is in store for or the fact that the woman that is in his dreams is there.

This book had me hooked and I had no chance of putting it down after I started it. I had to see how things played out between Parker and Grace. There is humor and struggle as well as lots of love. I think my favorite thing is Parker lays his cards out on the table so there is no hiding his feelings or thoughts. He tells it like it is, as does the rest of his family.

I seriously can’t wait until Sierra and Declan’s book after that ending!

This is the fifth book in the Wild Texas Hearts series and I'd say my favorite. I've loved all the books in this series but Parker and Grace's story really got to me. It's steamy, entertaining, well written and heartfelt. There's just something about these cowboys you can't help but love. They're rough around the edges, stubborn as a mule at time but they fall hard, love deeply and will stop at nothing to protect the people they love. These books are interconnected so while you can enjoy this book alone, I really recommend reading the other books in the series.

Grace never expected to see the man who store her heart and left her pregnant but here is back in town 9 years later and it turns out he's her best friend’s fiancés older brother, Yikes! Grace never knew Parkers real name; he only gave her his nickname. Now the two of them need to navigate how they will make things work and how they fit into each others lives. The attraction is still strong for both of them but will they be able to make a relationship work?

This story is both good and fun to read. It has a good storyline and the characters are really well written. While reading this story, especially in the beginning I felt it was a bit complicated with all the names occurring and as the story progressed I became sure that there were other stories prior to this one as there were already other romantic - strong - and in love people being discussed or they were quite a large part of the story and how it progressed. What I can say about that is that I regret not having read them before as I am sure they were equally good as this one. Each story clearly is written about one couple with the family and friends and love and thus we are luckily not left with some horrible cliffhangers which force you to read the next one if you want closure - I hate that kind of stories but love stories like this one where one couple is the main feature in each story but there are stories about all the people on a ranch, or brothers or siblings, each having their own individual story. This story is one of those clearly and I loved reading it.

Parker “Hawk” & Grace- meant to be soulmates

Grace had an amazing night with a super sexy and hot cowboy named Hawk: which resulted in her losing her v-card and becoming pregnant with her adorable son Owen. But when her cowboy disappeared and she never heard from him again she assumed he didn’t want her or her son. She never knew his last name or anything about him. All that changes when she learns that Hawk is actually Parker Rhodes her best friend’s Emma’s fiancé brother! Who has been living and working in Wyoming for the last 9 years. When she sees him again all the memories come flying back and she can’t believe he is here and wanting her just as much as their first night together!
Parker had an accident and loss his memory of meeting Grace and he knew nothing about Owen because he hadn’t been home since! Parker can’t believe he is a Daddy and he doesn’t want to lose anymore time with his woman or his son!
This story is adorable and beyond romantic. You will love everything about their reconnecting and finding true love after all these years! Happy Reading!!

Parker and Grace's Unusual Story . . .

Parker Rhodes has been avoiding going home for many years now. He had a bad head injury which scarred him and made him lose 2 years of memories. Since he didn’t want his family to see his scars, he remained in Wyoming and avoided Texas until his younger brother, Walker, asked him to be his best man for his Christmas Eve wedding. Grudgingly he agrees to come home.

Nine years ago, Hawk (Parker) had met a woman, had a one-night-stand, then he disappeared from her life. Grace didn’t know what happened. But she met some new friends and was asked by her best friend Emma to be her maid of honor at her upcoming wedding. Parker has been dreaming about this woman the entire time, not knowing who she was but seeing her so vividly that he was able to sketch a picture of her. So when he returns for his brother’s wedding, he is stunned to see the stranger there. What will happen when the two meet each other? Will she tell him some important information? Can she fill in some of the forgotten memories for him?

Oh, I really loved this story. We got to visit with people from previous books, but the main characters Parker (Hawk) and Grace were both great characters. Parker had lost 2 years of memories, so he didn't remember Grace, but deep in his subconscious, he knew her. Grace's son, Owen, had been conceived in a one night stand two days before his accident. I really liked the lengths Grace went to to help Parker remember things. It took a little too long to tell Owen that Parker was his daddy, but I get the reasoning. When Parker met a man that had been on his plane ride home 9 years ago, it all fell in place and then when Grace got hurt, he knew he would never leave her or Owen. The ending with the wedding was priceless. I loved it

Grace and Parker

I've waited so hard for this journey. Grace, sweet innocent Grace, had done the crazy for one night, and she wouldn't change the outcome for anything because it gave her Owen.
Now the absent Rhoades brother is coming back to town for his brother's wedding, and fireworks fly, all kinds of works actually, and the story just gets better and better .... hard to believe, unless you're a cowboy and know all kinds of crap happens when you work on a ranch, and never at an opportune time.
Grace gets the shock of her life when she finally "finds Hawk".
Loved this from cover to cover, my curiosity's been building since the first book of this series, and now we, finally get Grace's story.
A stand alone with a great HEA, but also with cameo appearances by all the Wild Hearts, Texas style, all worth a read.

I've read several books written by Deborah Garland; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the fifth book in the Wild Texas Hearts Series; it is a stand-alone book. Parker had a bad accident nine years ago and while recovering from his head injury he’s stayed away from his family; he’s lost large parts of his memory and doesn’t want them to see his scars but when his brother asks him to be the best man at his wedding he knows he’s out of excuses. Grace is Emma’s best friend and is the maid of honor; Emma asks her if the best man can stay in the apartment above her garage while he’s in town, she agrees but is in for a shock when he shows up and it’s the guy she had a one-night stand with years ago. She was something else he didn’t remember.
