I never read What A Sista Should Do, the novel that precedes DON’T TELL A SOUL. But I didn’t have to in order to enjoy Tiffany Warren’s latest novel.
Eva has a past, a scandalous one, one from which she’s fleeing. She finds refuge at a church church, where a women’s ministry/support group meets. Friends and members of the group, Yvonne, Taylor and Pam, wrestle with living out their faith amidst the drama in their lives.
Pam’s music maverick husband lost everything and is now trying to make a comeback in the industry. But his protégée takes up too much of his time and attention, leaving Pam unhappy and paving the way for his partner, Logan, to focus on Pam.
Recently released from jail, Taylor’s ex-husband wants to develop a relationship with their eleven-year-old son, but Taylor, who has since remarried, doesn’t want Luke to be part of their lives, even as their son begins to act out and almost beg to know his biological father.
Divorcee Yvonne befriends a new church member, one with a dark secret that keeps threatening to rear its ugly head in public. When Eva believes she can share her secret with Yvonne, their fledgling friendship is tested and Yvonne must decide just what type of friend she is.
DON’T TELL A SOUL is a gritty, entertaining drama against a backdrop of church and faith. Warren’s laugh-out-loud style is on display as she moves through the antics of the various characters, including a set of twins sure to keep readers in stitches. The lessons of friendship aren’t lost, however, as these three ladies—and readers—discover that true friendship is an act, and requires, faith.
There’s nothing I dislike more than a slow read. If the first line doesn’t draw me in, chances are it will take me longer than expected to finish reading the story. Don’t Tell A Soul doesn’t have a slow drive. Once you put it in DRIVE, you better buckle up because you’re in for the ride of your life. The first line read, “One hundred eighty seven breaths in ten minutes.” Immediately, I’m asking myself questions. Why are they counting the number of breaths in a minute?” Were they shot and counting to see how long they’ll survive? Are they hiding from someone? So, I had to keep reading because I wanted to know more. Tiffany Warren is an excellent storyteller. The way she brings her characters alive is simply amazing. Don’t Tell A Soul is the sequel to What A Sista Should Do. I’ve been waiting on this novel. I wanted to know what happened after the story ended eight years ago. Pam, Yvonne and Taylor are back with new problems and old problems resurface. Tiffany introduces us to a new character, Eva. A woman with a history, who’s afraid to give it all to God. I laughed, cried and even my blood pressure rose a couple times. If you’re looking to renew your faith in God, please read Don’t Tell A Soul. This novel will lead you back to God. This is also a great read for those who’re unsaved and looking for direction. Personally, I don’t see these characters staying away. They have more stories to tell. I can’t wait the next one. There has to be a follow-up to this story. Don’t Tell A Soul receives a gold medal. Great job Tiffany! ***I received an advanced copy from the publisher.***
Tiffany Warren is my favorite author. This is definitely not her best work. There were so many issues I had with this book. I’ll just address this one- how realistic is it for a woman to be best friends with her ex-husband’s mistress/side baby mama?
This is one of the worst books I have ever read. The cover art is a little misleading with a woman dressed like she might be going out to party. It gives the impression that the book is about 1 central character when it is really about the lives of 4 main characters. There are several pages of Bible Scripture, as this is a story about the troubles and redemption of these ladies but I think the Scriptures are used to fill space. Any person who is in to Christian or religious fiction probably already knows the Bible or at least how to locate a verse if they really wanted to.
The writing is poor. The conversations between characters do not flow well and most of the comments /reactions are just plain dumb.
I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone unless you are of limited intelligence and think so called "church. drama " is interesting.
When I fist heard this book was a sequel, I knew I wanted to read the first one it just so happened someone in my building was giving it away. I read the first book last week and this one on monday. I loved it. This is the way you do a sequel to a book. I also liked how she put some of the characters from her teen line in the book. I can even see a third book from this. I would like to see what happens to eva and about the marriages of the main characters.
If you have strayed away from your Christian upbringing Tiffany L. Warrens “Don’t Tell a Soul”, will definitely lead you back. Pam, Yvonne & Taylor are 3 friends on a mission as they share their ups and downs, trials & tribulations. Pams’ husband loses all of their money. Yvonne has unhealthy friendships & Taylor has to learn how to forgive. These characters will leave you mesmerized and questioning, why you ever doubted your faith. Great job Ms. Warren!!
Great sequel. I admire Taylor, Yvonne, and Pam as they venture into a new chapter of their lives and they are still tight as friends. My heart goes out to Eva. Just seems like she had such a tough way to go from childhood. But what matters is what they say God is always with you, it's up to you to listen to hear Him meaning you have to submit to Him.
I have to say I found these characters so tremendously annoying! Almost every single one. Ugh. Eva the porn star was probably the least annoying because she was the least judgmental. The sisters in this circle claim to be prayer warriors but are actually the type that cause another to stumble.
This was a great clean read that also bought the power of prayer to surface to remind just how good God is and can be. It also helps that the characters are realistic and dramafied:-) I highly recommend this book, although it is part of a series. Going now to find the others.
It was as if the author ran out of thing to keep the book going. I have read many of Tiffany Warren's book and was very pleased and thoroughly enjoyed them. , but I really did not like the way this book ended. Very disappointed.
This is the continuance of "WHAT A SISTA SHOULD SO". About three friends: Pam, Taylor and Yvonne. Pam was married to Troy and her husband had hit rock bottom, lost about every penny he had over three hundred and a half million. So he told Pam that she would have to get a job. But Pam finally got a book deal with Gideon Publishing. While cleaning up she found a letter from Aria, who was one of his singer's he was trying to get a record deal. But when she question him about being with her he said _______. Taylor is now married to Spencer but they were having problems about him spanking Joshua her son. But Joshua kept getting in trouble and was expelled from school. And all of a sudden up pops his biological father Luke trying to make demands concerning his son. Yvonne who is now single and was also married to Luke who had a son by Taylor. But she ended up going out with the choir director and one evening during rehearsal he ended up proposaling to her and she said ____. We also have Eva who wandered into the church asking for help and Yvonne took her in and helped a sister out until she _______. This was also about forgiveness. Something we all need to learn to do and that is forgive other, don't walk around carrying a grudge for the rest of your life because you would only be hurting your self.
An excellent read...I'm a fan....I want to know more about Kingston and Yvonne. I want to know if Luke is actually changed, and if he's a good influence on Joshua. I want to know how Eva is doing, and if Taylor has recognized her blessings. I also hope that Pam and Troy resolved their issues and salvaged their marriage and money. Hopefully someone told the church's busybodies where they can go...they got on my nerves

This book was so real and down to earth. It was not just about the elite and happy ever after but some real challenges people might face in an in perfect world. It's about the said as well as the unsaid and striving to be more like our Lord and savior. There is no situation God is not in charge of if only we believe.
This was another good. It is interesting to see how we deal with people who sin differently from us. What I did like was in the midst of it all, they had a sisterhood that lifted each other up and checked each other as well. Kingston was my kind of man. I am glad to see Yvonne find love. This is a book that you fly through. On to my next Tiffany L. Warren book.
There were a few times I thought this book was going over the edge into some dangerous territory, but it did not. By God's grace and with His help, these women did not give in and do things that would hurt them later. They all went through some tough things, but this book is a great example of how we can have victory in Jesus. Very well done!
This book is dramatic, inspirational and inspiring. It's about ladies in church who take care of each other by praying helping with food and all the necessity require to start over again. Helping un saved from the streets. I enjoy this story . Love it. Please read it.
This book was a easy and amazing read. It keeps your interest throughout. I even recommended it to my book club and they all seemed to enjoy it as well.
Sisters in Christ, Pam, Taylor and Yvonne are back at it. This time their friendship is genuine and they are still members of the congregation meeting for their Sister to Sister prayer group. It was through this ministry that God was able to lead each individual woman to her destination. Though it's been 8 years, it doesn't mean the sisters aren't still in need.
Eva is in need of an immediate breakthrough. A tortured soul, she's struggled her entire life. When she learns that she may have been exposed to HIV through her job, she promises GOD that if he spares her, she'll change her life. Is this a promise Eva will be able to keep?
When we last checked in with Pam Lyons, she and her husband had come into a substantial amount of money. A lot has changed since and Troy is still looking to break into the music business with his only artist, Aria. Pam is writing and has a 2-book deal. The trouble is she is focused on everything but putting pen to paper. Can she steady her mind long enough to chase her own dreams?
Taylor is no longer a single, struggling mother sleeping with married men. She's a married woman, with her own Prince Charming living her fairy tale. Well, it would be much better if her son, Joshua, wasn't causing so many issues at school and at home. Used to it being just the two of them, Taylor and her husband Spencer are having issues as he's trying to parent Joshua. When Joshua's biological father returns with hopes of being a full-time co-parent, will Taylor be able to see past his past?
Yvonne is single and loving it! Though she's alone, she's far from lonely as she's enjoying her ministries in the church and being a wonderful prayer warrior for her sisters. When a new member comes to the church seeking GOD, Yvonne is excited to help the young woman. However, when she learns of the woman's past, she finds herself standing in judgment. Will she be able to share GOD's love with this woman?
I was so happy to see that Tiffany L. Warren brought the ladies back from WHAT A SISTA SHOULD DO. It was refreshing to see how their lives have advanced, and how even as Christians, they still struggle daily in love, flesh, faithfulness, friendship, forgiveness and dreams. I like how the sisters in the group interact and how even through times of uncertainty, they know that their sisters are standing in the GAP on their behalf. As usual Warren's characters are uproariously funny.
Pam, Yvonne, and Taylor return older in age but closer to God. A new visitor to the church, Eva, pricks Yvonne heart and slowly becomes part of the group. The drama is non-stop with husbands, friends, baby daddy drama, and lovers but they often call on God for answers. This can be anyone's story as we all have girlfriends that keep our secrets and prayed for our souls.
Warren has a way of crafting a tale that pushes the envelope without being preachy. It took me a minute to remember how the storyline in What A Sista Should Do but doesn't take away from the novel. This is easily a stand alone work. Get ready to enjoy a God-centered work of fiction that will inspire you to stand on faith.
Don't Tell A Soul was a really good read focusing on 3 Christian friends & how they dealt with the turmoil in their lives. I appreciated how the author displayed their Faith & relationship with God in a way that anyone could understand. This book was well written with good humor. When I started reading this book I was unaware this was the end of a trilogy. I was still able to understand the characters previous situations without reading prior books. I am planning to read the preceding stories & am sure I will enjoy them.
I don't like a lot of drama in my own life, but when it comes to the books I read, bring it on! And "Don't Tell A Soul" really delivers! From start to finish the characters deal with the issues of life from a Christian perspective and we, the readers, are taught and entertained by the rich dialogue and down to earth characters. Great job, Ms. Warren! The only thing missing is a promise of another sequel!
Tiffany does it again!! Great read & sequel to What a Sista Should Do. Well written and could be read as a stand alone. Friends Pam, Taylor & Yvonne are back 8 years later. Each one going through their own test and trials, but each still there to listen to, talk to, help and pray for one another. They are great examples of SistaFriends!!! Loved this book.....
This was a good book. The life story of Yvonne, Taylor, Pam and Eva was told. Each of their struggles were expressed. Yvonne and Eva had happy endings. The remaining two are a work in progress. There is great humor at the sister to sister meetings with Rhonda and Rochelle. I got a lot of laughs at those two.
