Anastasia is a whole entire cow. She basically screams at literally everybody in this book upon first meeting them and throws temper tantrum's like the worst two-year-old imaginable. Her first night in her new house she expects fully vegetarian options despite having never asked for them. Then she gets completely pissed off that there aren't any available immediately and throws a fit and leaves. Her husband is even more of a dickbag as he follows her out to berate her further and act like a child himself despite calling her one. I have zero interest in either of these two idiots as people.

When All Is Not What It Seems

I enjoyed this story. Dorian's father and brothers were murdered and he took over the title when he was quite young. The memories of what happened made him shun most of society's events. Anastasia' brother was cruel and hated her. Dorian and Anastasia met unexpectedly but had not expected to ever meet again. However, her brother had other ideas and was forcing them into an arranged marriage. There is a lot of frustration, misunderstanding and anger as Anastasia and Dorian learn to adjust to their marriage. Just when things begin to settle between them, family issues emerge. The story contains threats, attempted bribery, murder and abduction but in the end love wins through. Well worth reading.

Love the story about the Dorian the duke of Frost frost and his need to marry but he did not want to wed and the only reason why was for a large dowery There was a contract drawn up between Anastasia's parents and his parents that they would wed but both of them did not want to marry anyone. Anastasia wanted to travel the world, but Dorian wanted to hide out in his home. Anastasia's brother Thomas was cruel and heartless. Anastasia loved animals and love to rescue them and Thomas hated it. He told her that she would wed and be out of his house. Harry was his guard and his best friend. He made him go to a ball that Dorian didn't want to go to. He hated being out in public and felt exposed, Anastasia had a lot of suitors and a lot of attention at the ball and she just needed a breath of air. She runs into Dorian and has no idea who he is but he Recognizes her, and then she recognizes him as he saved her from an attack and she pretty much tells him off and said that he did not save her. She had everything under control.Anastasia exchanges Barb's with him Again at the ball and he can't believe somebody talk to him like that, Ann says that she's insufferable but little do they know their lives will be intertwined and many things come to light.

Steamy Historical Regency per title.
Gave this 4 stars.

I liked this couple. Tall, reclusive, easy on the eyes, on
edge, Dorian a duke, & tall, lithe, opinionated Anastasia
(Ana) whose difficult brother Thomas the earl considered
her a burden and couldn't wait to unload her.

Dorian & his protector/ friend/ former Navy man Harry
rescued Ana and her maid Louise and their dog when 3
footpads bothered them. When the baddies left, Ana said
she'd had it under control (not!), only Louise thanked
them.

Thomas matched Ana and Dorian. Natch. She rescued
animals and unknown to him, did not eat meat (later
an issue). They wed and ignored each other at their
country estate. Also there Harry and MIL Pippa.

Ana tried to get to know Pippa. She learned her spouse
was cold as ice b/c years earlier his sire & 2 brothers
were murdered and someone was after him! H didn't
want to get too close to Ana, then she'd be a target also.
Harry found a sweetie too.

He brought home an orphan baby goat, after he
told Ana she had to leave him behind. The closeness
brought on sexiness, but most of the steam was
off screen. One day the bullets flew.

The murder mystery was solved & another faced
justice for another charge.

Anastasia is a vegetarian animal rescuing zealot with the typical evil brother arranging her marriage to Dorian, the Duke of Frost. Said Duke, of course, has his heart thawed by Anastasia; he finds her shrewish behavior attractive. There are word use errors: eyeing "wearily" and bulk instead of balk are examples. There's bad sentence construction: "His hand was at his waistband as he exited the carriage where Dorian knew the man kept his own pistol concealed at all moments."
There's a master of ceremonies to announce ball guests; a non-peer bodyguard/best friend who attends that ball; the author doesn't explain how he does (or is announced). Anastasia loves that ball because the "music" is great and so are the cakes! The hero wears an undershirt! The tone is very contemporary. I was never engaged with the characters nor the plot, which involves a goat, Dorian's cousin, mother and Aunt, who are twins, yes indeed, and who married brothers, who died. SPOILER alert:. Or did they?

This historical romance is about the Duke of Frostwood who needs to marry a bride with a big dowry to replenish his estate coffers. He meets his bride to be, Anastasia, perchance in an alley when he rescues her and they get off to a rocky start. She is an animal loving vegetarian that was a bit shrewish initially but redeemed herself as the book progressed. Dorian, the Duke has faced much tragedy in his life and earned his reputation of being icy and without feeling, as he is scared of being hurt after suffering such immense loss in his life. But Anastasia manages to chip away at the ice walls surrounding his heart, bit by bit. There is intrigue as someone is out to kill the Duke. A well written story that had me full engaged. I really enjoyed this book and rate it 4.5*. There is an extended epilogue which is downloadable if you sign up for the author's newsletter.

🕸️🕸️ONE FANTASTIC ADVENTURE🕸️🕸️
Jumping jellybeans jasper! Harriet doesn't miss a beat, bouncing to her own tune, serving up one incredibly tantalizing, sinfully delightful, skillfully enthralling, fascinatingly beguiling with all the frills, spills and churning feels. Unleashing one tongue clicking rock-our-world piece of wonder, catapulting this sweet little treat to staggering heights. Unforseen events and horrifying occurrences tilt this jewel on its axis, revving up the exuberance and fervor, swapping hats and playing favorites as justice is served and reparations made with such strategic finesse, launching this baby to life spectacularly. The characters interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits, blend and flow adding depth and diversity, transforming into genuine charismatic personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and graphic descriptions creating an elaborate backdrop that feels as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Brilliant job Harriet, thanks for sharing this amazing thrill with us.

Danger lurking.

Dorian and Anastasia. Dorian is known as the Duke of Frost. After losing his father and brothers to murder years ago he has become cold and has put up walls to keep others out. Unfortunately, to save his dukedom, he must marry for the dowry. Anastasia has no idea her brother plans to marry her off and certainly not to the Duke of Frost. They have a rocky beginning and danger lurks in the shadows. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline, although I had a bit of difficulty liking Anastasia in the beginning.

DNF'd at 22%

I quit reading at 22%. Despite her "large" heart and love of animals, the heroine is unreasonable, unlikable, and judgmental. She's also petulant and an idiot. The hero is a cardboard cutout of the stereotypical brooding, emotionally wounded man who's afraid to love because everyone he loves is always taken away from him. Regarding the writing, there's an overabundance of incorrect capitalization but no other egregious copy errors that I noticed. If you're looking for something fresh and original in a historical romance, you won't find it here.

Great and Entertaining

I could relate to Her Grace, her love of animals and rescuing animals. I loved that the charters tried so hard to not like each other. I laughed out load at some of their interactions.

This story has a great love story with a bit of mystery. I enjoyed the story so much that I had to read all in one setting.

Love the story’s plot, characters and settings but I dislike the modern slang e.g. git which is a 20th century invention that spoils the flow. Plus it sounded wrong coming from the character who said it! Cad would have been a better word. A couple other sentences that should have been edited too!

That said it is a lovely story, with emotion, humour and some dramatic twists!

Danger was lurking everywhere and Dorian wanted just to keep everyone safe and decided not to give his love to anyone, he was afraid to lose them, due to the murder of his Father and Brothers. But he could not help but fall in love with Anastatia. Everything turned out well in the end!

Enjoyable!

Plot not too complicated or made up. Characters grow to accept each other and limitations of events. Impressed by the Duke's respect for his wife and how her monies saved estate by spending money on her animals.
Sex was handled in discrete manner.

A Regency Era romantic mystery

Our hero is indeed reserved and for good reason. Marrying our heroine was a financial necessity but along with her dowry she proves to be brilliant and a delight.

Highly recommended!

Anastasia seems super spoiled. The whole time she just expected her husband to apologize. I don't think she's ever apologized for her childish and demanding behaviour. The concept was good, the execution needs work.

Bride for the Duke of Frost

An okay read. Two unlikable main characters who are very good at being rude. Not much depth written into the characters. Editing needed to not confuse weary/wary...taught/taut...lulling/lolling...etc

A Rollercoaster of a Romance.

Like all good love stories, this had its ups and downs. It's twists and turns. Romance to drama. It had it all, but then when doesn't a beautiful story have all of that? Read it and see

Sibling Jealousy

A really delightful story with a bit of a twist and excitement in the closing chapters. I thoroughly enjoyed the language emanating from the parrot Scully who is rather fond of foul language!

something off

Finished this book. But there was something off in the details. The villain was too implausible. The arrangement between the heroine and her brother strained my credibility. If he hated her, why would he send het belongings? Others may enjoy, but not me.
