This was a toss up.

The way book one ended left several direction this one could go in. A political based story was not the best choice given the main character. It felt that she was led around for the whole book. This was a three star book until the very last bit, the ending pulled it out and set up a very good looking book three. This is worth finishing but some parts are a trudge.

Intriguing

Everything we learn about this world, we learn along side Jane, her ignorance is our ignorance, and so we get just as surprised by the twists and turns.
We get the view of other characters, get more to each story and results of her actions, but still, when something new and crazy is introduced, the signs were all there, but I still wouldn't expect it.
Wonderfully done.

Really fun read.

This second book is really a fun if fairly frustrating read. I like Jane. She reminds me of me. A lot. And I now understand why people get so very cross with me, rushing headlong from one situation to the next with single minded focus and not stoping to consider the consequences or listen to wiser heads. Not always, sometimes I do, like Jane, listen to others, and even seek out their advice, but yeah, I totally get it now. I'll definitely be reading the next one though.

A Bright Future for the Series

I liked the first book in this series, but I felt it had several flaws. The plot was relatively simple, and while some aspects of the worldbuilding had appeal, most of it was fairly generic. Additionally almost all of the loose ends were tied up in the ending. This left very little for the sequel to explore, at least at the start. I also felt that Jane as a character wasn't particularly interesting, or at least not as interesting as I had hoped.

I found this book to be such a wild improvement over the first one that it's sort of unbelievable, honestly.

The world is built out much more, and it goes way beyond just standard Tolkien fantasy. There are real considerations of what a System does to a society and how different their thinking can be from ours.

The plot is much more complex, and Jane has a great character arc involving how naive she is. Additionally, the ending properly feels like it's setting up an epic adventure series.

I stayed up the whole night reading it and couldn't put it down. Eagerly awaiting book 3!

Reading new authors is like a box of chocolates: you never know what you're going to get. Ratings don't help much, though fairly detailed reviews can - and those run the risk of spoiling the book.

I've thoroughly enjoyed both Judicator Jane books. The main problem with them is there's no way he can write them as fast as I want to read them.

His characters are nicely fleshed out and seem true to themselves even when mis-guessing Jane's motives. Nearly all of his characters are interesting.

Jane's growth is interesting to watch. The author puts her in morally ambiguous situations, causing her to doubt herself from time to time, raising tough questions about the unintended consequences of actions deemed right at the time. The author also does a good job of showing how miscommunication is so easy, especially between Jane and others.

This book, and the series are like one of my favorite chocolates in the box. I hope the author maintains the interest and the quality he has begun. I look forward to more in the series.

Uggg I saw that coming a mile away foolish pog gets pulled into a cult and I really didn't care 😒 he has the wrong personality to be a chosen he is easily lead around and has no self preservation. He let's himself get pulled into murdering people and just takes someone he doesn't even know tell him what to do. And jane she always finds a way out but she makes alot of stupid mistakes along the way let's hope she will not have to fight or save pog. I keep thinking jane will get her priorities straight but she's all over the place worrying about and digging into mundane things and focusing on how the system works and trying to go home ( WHY ) home to what she has no family no job and a boring life I hate it when the mc focuses on going home so stupid get it together

Jane grows up

Well, to some degree, she does. Jane, having bright peace between demons and men, is now trying to figure out her place in this world. Her cynicism towards the system is tested, and she has to navigate some really intriguing trials.

I found the book a fun read, for the most part. There's were moments it kind of bogged down, but then things would get interesting and I couldn't put the book down. I gave it 5 stars in the end because I plan on reading the next book in the series and, in the end, I liked this one.

If you've read the first book in the series and enjoyed it, this is a fun opportunity to check back in on Jane and see how she's doing.

This book left me completely unresponsive. What the author did here might have been better suited for the first book, and while I commend him for addressing some flaws I found in the first, the story itself left me cold. I think this stems from the fact that I fundamentally don’t like Jane’s powers. “Judging” people... even though we do it all the time, the idea of an entity doing it with its own moral code bothers me. Not to mention the disparity between +1 and -30. What happens in the book is already starting to fade from my memory, so I’d say I just wasn’t in the mood to read it and was disappointed.

2 days to finish. Addicted to this Isekai

I read the first book in two days. I just finished this. I just can't put these down. They are such great storycrafting. I love the MC and the epic abilities she has and the exponentially growing skills she is getting in line with the expanding world and characters. I love this series. Getting book 3 as soon as I finish writing this review.

Brilliant

One of the best LitRPG books I have read for a long time, loved the character builds and the background stories of their lives, excellent descriptive story telling regarding their individual skill traits, Judicator Jane is my favourite heroine of all time, thank you for this exciting read Mr Rouleau, looking forward to book 3 of the series

Wow another great litRPG. In this story the humor takes a backstep, while Judicator Jane tries to work out the intricacies of not only the system, but of the people and their political machinations in the new world Jane finds herself confronting. Even as the Demon Lord she has a lot to learn!
So yeah do yourself a favor and pick-up this action-filled adventure!

If u like 1 you'll like 2!

This is continuation of book 1. Immediately picks up from where it was left off which I love. Not a fan of the ...2 years later kinda of thing myself. Humor was great and story line became fractured with Pogg, Jane and Grandia. But ALL are good and you just know it's going to culminate into a grand ending once we get there!

every bit is good as the first one

I have been waiting for this book to come out, and as soon as it did, I had to grab it and read it. Really good book, now have to wait for the next one. Read this series, you won’t be disappointed.

Fun, plots and twists

So many interesting plots and twists. Jane King is a regular woman, turned into an awesome character caught in a world she has no knowledge of. The System, manipulating each person in the world, impacts everything. Can't wait until book #3 comes out!

Read this series!

Excitement, magic, demons, a mysterious system, and a young human who has to make sense of it all. Loving this series and the storyline and character development. On to book 3 ! I need to see what happens next.

I was not encouraged by the direction that the author took with the first 80% of book 2, but I did find the ending more interesting and will probably continue to book 3. I would love to see Jane's character filled out a little more with real interactions with other ongoing characters.

a bit slow

Which isn’t surprising in a Slice of Life type story. You *do* get a sense that the world has other things going on that the MC is not involved in.

I already bought book 3, but I think I’m going to read something else before diving back in.

#2 in the series

Takes up right after the first book. A refreshing breath of adventures of the less than perfect but very powerful hero’s.

Not a psychopath!

It's nice to have found a LitRPG/isekai series where the protagonist isn't a murderous psychopath. I main character with morals, what a novel idea!

Again, I really love Isekai books where the MC is a woman, and this series has been great so far.

Judicator Jane 2 picks up right where book one left off, after the Demon / Human standoff and Judgement in the Wastelands, brought peace between the demons and the lands of men.

Now though, Jane needs to figure out her purpose and sets out to learn more about the land of Alur. Jane manages to stumble into a few tricky situations, and her luck, isn't the instant fix she thought it was.

I love the deeper development of the world, the politics and the system. I wish there was more Pogg and Mint in this book, but I enjoyed meeting new characters and watching Jane win more people over.

On to book 3.
