This was a really theoretical book and it was difficult to maintain focus while reading it. Essentially it lists different aspects of strategy and tends to use generic examples to back up statements ("according to studies") without making the effort for more detailed references. If you have already read many books on strategy you are not likely to find novel ideas here, it might though serve as a reference book.

The writer uses many basic references for clarifying the importance of thinking strategically. Also, it provides interesting tools for helping develop strategic roads through your goals. I recommend the book to those who want to gain more advantage from strategic thinking for having access to your objectives.

Good stuff. The only problem I see with this book is that the most likely reader is already going to know most of what is put forward. Which is to say strategic thinkers will naturally be drawn to this book - and they get a little new knowledge, maybe. Unfortunately, those who most need it will never even consider reading the book. It will be the old "no time" reasoning (which the book does itself discuss). I have always been amazed at how those who would most benefit from taking the "1000 foot view" are the least likely to ever do so.
