Captain Booker Hayes was born to fly. So, joining the Air Force was an easy decision. Becoming part of the Flight Concepts Division — the pilots tasked with ferrying Special Operation Teams on their missions — a no-brainer. Having to leave it all behind after a mission goes sideways… nothing short of gutting. Until Hank Patterson throws Booker and his teammates a Hail Mary in the form of a new Aviation Department within the Brotherhood Protectors’ Yellowstone Division. What’s shaping up to be an exciting new beginning — if he can leave his ghosts behind.
One being Special Agent Calliope Jensen — DEA officer, and the woman destined to haunt Booker’s dreams. After a year of dancing around their attraction, they’d finally gotten together, only to have it cut short. Now, thirteen months later, he’s still wondering if he was the only one who’d wanted more. Who’s still hoping for a second chance.
Having her show up unannounced — edgy and in need of a partner for a job he’s not sure is sanctioned — is unexpected. Following her to Puerto Rico in the hopes of revealing who outed her undercover operation, borderline suicidal. Especially when it’s clear the local drug cartel isn’t going to make their task easy. But it’ll take more than high-speed chases and an inbound tropical storm to deter him. Booker promised Callie he’ll have her back, and this is one mission, he’s not going to fail.
Kris sees herself as somewhat obsessive and feels she tends to push the boundaries of common sense sometimes. Her friends graciously see her as passionate and adventurous. After all, speed limits are only a guideline and shouting is just her way of rising above the chaos. Kris loves the outdoors. If she's not on her computer— or chasing after her three kids— she's out on a trail somewhere, either running with her dog or riding her mountain bike. Kris took up adventure racing a few years ago, and tries to enter one or two races every year. Kris started writing some years back, and it took her a while to realize she wasn’t destined for the padded room, and the voices chattering away in her head were really other characters trying to take shape. (And since they weren’t telling her to conquer the human race, she went with it.) Kris loves writing erotic novels. She loves heroines who kick butt, heroes who are larger than life, and sizzling sex scenes that make you squirm in your seat, and leave you feeling just a bit breathless. Booker's Mission is the first compelling book by Kris Norris in the Team Eagle series and part of the Brotherhood Protectors World series, all written by different authors.
In this book, we meet Booker and team, who recently medically retired from their time in the forces after one harrowing accident that left them all damaged. The team became part of a protection company. Booker's first assignment finds more than dangerous situations he finds himself in danger of losing his heart to her. Not knowing who to trust, they find themselves in a world of hurt when the good guys have turned bad.
These are formidable alpha males, balancing their bravery with deep emotional struggles, and headstrong women who prove to be their undoing. It is charged with tension as they navigate this new environment as bodyguards under fire. Along this journey, we encounter a diverse cast of characters, including resilient women who exude strength and empathy, showcasing their remarkable tenacity in the face of adversity.
Booker's Mission is an exciting tale of loyalty and courage, where looming threats jeopardise their lives and the lives they swore to protect. This story not only highlights the fierce devotion of its alpha heroes but also emphasises the importance of connection and resilience against a backdrop of uncertainty and danger.
This was my first book by this author. I will definitely be checking out her other work.
Booker's Mission could be called a second chance romance. It had its fair share of steamy scenes. That was a nice touch that was incorporated into a book full of non stop action, danger, suspense, and intrigue. The book was full of "hold my breath" moments.
I loved that Booker was a bad ssa helicopter pilot. Those flights had me thinking I was flying too, lol. Holding on for dear life.
Callie was awesome in her own right. I do enjoy reading about strong, independent women. Especially when they recognize people have talents they need and can accept the help. She had no problem keeping up with Booker.
Booker had no doubts about Callie's capabilities and had her back without question. I appreciated that respected her expertise and had her take the lead where necessary.
There is one thing I wish had been included. The book gave me detailed reasons regarding Booker's issue. I would have enjoyed the same amount of detail in the same way about Callie's issues. Don't get it twisted. The fact that Callie's past wasn't as detailed as Booker's took nothing away from this book. I would definitely recommend this book, especially go romantic suspense fans.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Great start to this new Brotherhood series. Booker and his crew are from the FCD team, after their last mission got them all medically discharged. Called is being set up by some rogue DEA agents and needs the one person she trusts, Booker. Plenty of edge of your seat danger, crazy flying and definitely plenty of steam. Excellent read. HEA.
First book of this spin off series linked to hank Patterson's brotherhood. This series is written by many authors (not a fan of that) there was something missing in this one took me longer to read them normal
What I liked about Booker was that he had absolutely no doubts about having a female as a partner. He may desire Calliope and want a second chance, but he did not allow that attraction to overshadow her needs or her abilities.
So this is my second go with this author and I still can’t get into her stories. I liked the story line and the characters were solid. I enjoyed getting to know all of the team’s characters. What I didn’t like was the sentence structure during the character’s thought process. Missing words that made the flow of the story difficult to follow. It unfortunately made the story choppy and I found myself less interested than I should have been to enjoy the book.
"Life and death, sweetheart. And your life trumps everything."
"Callie snuggled into him, and everything clicked into place. Like a lock turning over. And he knew he'd do everything just like this one. Calliope in his arms."
"It's like they know I was just about to take advantage of your weakened state" "The only thing that's weak is your sense of humor."
"You're crazy." "About you? Definitely."
"I swear to god if you die on me..." "Feeling's mutual, jackass. Go. I've got your six."
"Shit, Callie, you need to breathe for me." Breathe? How could she breathe when Booker was dying beyond that stupid door? Bleeding out or having some king of stroke?
"Booker?" "I know, sweetheart. Just hang in there. She'll make it." "Come on, baby, yo can make it." "I really wish you were talking to me, right now."
"You are, without a doubt, the most frustrating, infuriating, and incredible woman I've ever known. I was going to tell you that you don't fight fair. That I've never been so proud and si damn scared in my life. That if I wasn't trying to keep this baby upright and going in the right direction - despite the intense vibrations I'm worried might actually shake the entire machine into pieces - I'd kiss you until you begging me to make love to you. And that we're still going to have very long, likely very loud discussion. But for now, I'll just say, I love you, too, and leave it at that."
"Breathe, sweetheart." "What did you say? "I said, breathe." "Before that jackass." "The part where we're going to have a very long, very loud discussion, including why you just called me jackass?" "Booker!" "I said, I love you, too. You were serious back there, right? When you said you loved my sorry ass." "And for the record, my ass isn't sorry. In fact, it's one of my best features."
This is another great 5 book storyline set in the world of the Brotherhood Protectors. The first part of this book is critical as it gives you the back story of how the five men end up injured and out of the military branch they love.
Captain Booker Hayes was the helicopter pilot on that fateful flight that changed all their lives and blames himself for all of the injuries and deaths No matter how many times he is told that it was only his skill as a pilot with the Flight Concepts Division that allowed any of them to survive he still blames himself. So when Hank Patterson decides he wants to open an aviation division he is all in and the remnants of the teams from that fateful flight go with him.
Special Agent Calliope Jensen and Booker have been like ships that pass in the night deeply attracted to one another but never quite connecting and then she disappeared of the face of the earth. Now she has asked for his help after her entire tam was ambushed and she was the only one to survive He will take her deep into the Amazon to try to get answers but they may find that the danger is much closer than they realise. Can they survive and start to build a life together You will have to read to see
Booker is slightly crazy, ok, maybe completely crazy, but when flying he knows he is in control...even when he's not. Engines dying, losing a tail rotor, nothing fazes him because he knows he can still gain control and save it....but Callie....she is the one thing he has no control over. And losing her is the one thing that will break him. Unfortunately she has a reckless streak almost as wide as his, which makes their almost off the books, secret mission risky...even before the drug runners, the cartel and the corrupt double agent target them. A fast paced, dangerous, wild, explosive and completely crazy mission that may cost them everything....but will cement their love...forever. A fantastic first book in the Team Eagle series, I cannot wait to read the rest of the books in this multi author series, all five books were released today. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
I don't ride roller coasters in the real world. This ride was non stop. When we meet Booker he is in the service. We are there with him when the mission goes sideways. When he is doing a simulation with Stone and Wyatt I was smiling. That is about the only time to catch a breath. When Calliope appears on the page I was enamoured of her and fell more in love with Booker. That man! Bookers mission is to have Calliopes back and Calliope is no stranger to guns or evil in the world and has Bookers back. Non stop action, suspense, twists and when you thing you can stop and take a breath, thing again. I found Kris Norris through the Brotherhood Protectors World a little while ago and am so glad I did. Thank you for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions. #Booker'sMission #TeamEagle #KrisNorris #BrotherhoodProtectorsWorld #TwistedPage
Another incredible romantic suspense title. I was hooked from the moment the book opened and the rest of the story kept me guessing until the very end. Booker was everything I love best in a romantic hero: brave, self-sacrificing, a little emotionally wounded, and with a heart bigger than the sky. Callie’s the kind of fierce, independent heroine I love to read. She hates admitting when she needs help, but she can do it and not be impossible about accepting the help she needs. Together, these two had a bit of a “Mr & Mrs Smith” vibe about them, without the whole ‘trying to kill each other’ piece, obviously. I already can’t wait to dig into the rest of this series to find out more about the men that make up the new Team Eagle.
Booker Hayes former Flight Concepts Div (Sea Spray). An alpha protective male. Calliope Jensen is A DEA Agent fierce and talented.
Callie and Booker have a past, but it has been, awhile since they have seen each other ( due to their jobs). The chemistry is their no sparks are slow to ignite.
Callie makes a surprise appearance and also asks to be her backup on this crazy mission against a drug cartel and some bad DEA agents. Can they succeed against the cartel and get the bad guys, plus have a genuine relationship?
This book has suspense, intrigue, twists, turns and a second chance at love.
The beginning of a new arm of WEST Protectors, Aviation Department. Booker and his military brothers are involved in an out of control crash on a carrier. Booker carries so much guilt for the tragic deaths when he trusted someone new with taking off. He feels the pain of his brothers. He is contacted by a DEA officer, Callie he met a year ago. Someone exposed her undercover operation in Puerto Rico. She convinces him to accompany her to find out who wants her dead, drug cartel, DEA or US? Lots of action, mystery and intrigue. Well written and a straight read through for me. Looking forward to the next mission.
OMG! What a fantastic story. This is about Booker and Callie! It would have been nice to know where this couple met but as we get into the story, we find their love grow for each other. Booker is definitely a fantastic pilot and the scene in Puerto Rico was definitely a harrowing situation that will definitely get you on the edge of your seat hoping they make it. Even injured, Booker has some mad skills. It's a shame about the organization she worked for had dirty agents. Glad she was able to expose them. Also happy that these two are working on their happy ending. FANTASTIC job Kris! I would recommend this book!
Captain Booker Hayes was born to fly. He joined the Air Force so he could learn to fly. He became the Flight Concept Division. It is pilots ferrying Special Operations Teams. Because another officer was flying on a mission the plane crashed and feels guilty because he had died. Hank Patterson form a new division of Aviation within the Brotherhood Protection Yellowstone Division. He had met Special Agent Calliope Jensen during in the military. She comes to him for help. They both loved each other but haven't that of their love. They went on the mission finding secrets against the DEA agency she works with risking both their lives
I hadn't read this author before, but I love the series world so I dove in. I'll be looking for more of her work now. This section of the series will revolve around a team caught up in a copter crash and medically retired from service. Booker, our pilot is the first story. Our main love interest is Calliope Jensen A DEA Agent, they know each other but their careers have kept them apart. Callie needs help with a mission, there is a mole in the mix and she's in danger. Secrets will be uncovered and danger is all around them. I loved this action packed story.
I was gifted an ARC Copy of this book, and I voluntarily chose to review it. This is a well written story with awesome characters. This is the first book I have read by this author, but it will not be the last. I fell in love with the whole team, but Booker took the top spot in my heart. I would encourage everyone to go get this book it worth your time. This is the first book in this series. Go Team Eagle!!!!
Love these Brotherhood Protector series books. Booker is the first in the Team Eagle series, he is a top notch helicopter pilot. A mission accident caused he and several of his team the reason they had to leave the service. He hasn’t heard from DEA agent Calliope in months and still has a thing for her. She appears and needs his help she doesn’t know who to trust. The two of them get together and end up uncovering a huge DEA mess!
Booker and Callie. Quick romance with military and government action components. The start of the team getting their job was vivid and scary, but one heck of an opening moment in the book. The case with Callie was full steam ahead and somewhat not surprising for the dirty agent component. Great team dynamics and couple chemistry. Loved Wyatt and the other guys so excited for their stories
DNF. Stopped at 48%. I just couldn’t keep going. The sentence structure and overall writing was awful. Also, you’re told that the two main characters are crazy about each other and you have to accept that. No background to their relationship or build up. Just that over the past year (before the timeline in the book starts) they hung out. I prefer books where there is more content regarding the development of their relationship.
Talk about a roller coaster ride. I am motion sick. Although Booker is an honorable man, not to mention hot, I don't think I want to ride with him. I will keep my feet firmly on the ground and just read about his antics. Callie is just as crazy! Yep! A fun, entertaining, not-put-downable story.
Booker is the one person who can fly anywhere at any time and his team knows he will get them where they need to be, until one horrible crash left him with nothing until Hank Patterson hired him to open an aviation department. Booker is the one person that Calliope (DEA) can call when her undercover mission is blown. This series is great, and I would recommend this book.
The short version is: loved it! The slightly longer version is that this book had me on the edge of my seat more than once; the heat is whew!; the introduction of Team Eagle a masterpiece – and yes, the superlatives are deserved. Booker and Callie are a great team, and they make a good couple too. One-click this.
Another series of multiple author books in the brotherhood protectors starts here. While it has a few characters from the original series making cameos the book belongs to Booker. All those action packed helicopter rides make you sit up and take notice. Callie and Wyatt are good sidekicks to move the plot along.
I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more of this new series. Be prepared to be kept right on the edge as this action-packed, intense and emotional tale unfolds. Booker and Calliope delivered great feels and swoon.
Booker's Mission: WOW! Exciting, entertaining, hot, and romantic! Flying his bird is his love. He has always had eyes for one very beautiful DEA agent. She reach out to him for help on her mission and he would do anything for her. It was a great story!
This book is full of action!! Non stop action with some suspense plus some really cute and humorous banter between the characters. Awesome characters with amazing chemistry and some super sexy hunky super heroes!! A great read that I totally recommend!!
I liked it alot but I have a couple unanswered questions. But overall, it crazy how it turned on it's side so fast with not knowing who 2 really trust and who u can't. Can Booker make the promise he made her stick or will he loose everything including possibly his life? Read it and find out.
Awesome Military Romantic Suspense. Booker is a helicopter pilot in a special unit. Callie is an undercover DEA agent. They really like one another but she has a special mission and needs Bookers skills. Wonderful characters and storyline. I look forward to reading future books by Ms Norris.
