A thousand years ago, the Church created a super solider, called the Angeli Mortis, which hunted vampires and their Dowrra mates to the edge of extinction. In the secular age, this old enemy has been defeated and an alliance brokered with the humans. But this does not mean relations are always friendly between predator and prey. Miguel Santos is a five hundred year old Coven Prince who has finally found his Dowrra mate. He knows he will need to protect Gwendolyn Rhys with his very life as new, unknown enemies threaten her and his people. Gwen knows there is a darkness inside of Miguel but it's so easy to ignore when he awakens her in ways she'd never known before. The Angeli Mortis will not stop until they have regained their strength and eradicated, not only the vampire, but the Dowrra who consort with them as well...
