Cheated on and fired? Buy a one-way ticket to another country. My comfortable life fell apart, forcing me to flee to my parents’ villa in Spain to gather my shattered pride. I didn’t expect to bump into a man with mesmerising eyes who greeted me with a sneer and told me to leave. I certainly didn’t expect to meet his irritated gaze a second time in the company of mutual friends. My plan is simple—focus on my next career move. I had no intention of getting involved with another man so soon. Especially one so infuriatingly gorgeous. Until I find him bloodied at the side of the road and offer to take care of him. A good deed turned into one night of off-the-charts passion, but when I woke up to an empty bed and a measly thank you note, I decide to forget about him. Until I’m the one in need of help and he unexpectedly appears. “I’m yours, you’re mine. Welcome to our newly formed relationship.” Nico Navarro is a predator masked in a charming exterior. With a past he can’t escape and a healthy dose of enemies circling. Beneath that is a loyal and intelligent man, navigating demons he’s reluctant to share. He perfected the play on words whilst weaving me half truths and immersing me into his world. I fell hard. I chose to be his, to let him consume me. I ignored the warning signs. But I forgot something vital. Nico’s fighting nickname wasn’t for just the octagon, he embodied it. The Serpent knows where the Achilles’ heel is. Because no matter how much a snake sheds skin, it is still a snake.

Let me start by saying that I accidentally started book 2 before reading this book. I was super confused, so I had to stop reading it. Here you follow Nico, a billionaire with secrets, and Cheska who is a hairstylist needed a vacation. They have an instant connection but she seems to always have a foot out the door. She doesn't like the secrets he keeps. But that ending! DAMN he's good. I can't wait to finish the next book
Undeniable by HR Penrose was such a wonderful surprise. I went into the book blind and found It to be a fascinating read that kept my attention. Please read the content warnings as this is an adult book and should be read by 18+.
This book follows Francesca or Chesca to her friends. She flees to her parents villa in order to find herself after finding out she was cheated on by her boyfriend. She just wants some time alone to figure things out. She makes some friends while there and runs into a man a few times and he treats her terribly. She is confused as to why until she confronts him. Come to find out his name is Nico and her brother knows him and his backstory. She is warned off by her her brother and she is just drawn to Nico. They have that chemistry that we all love tofind in our book couples. The mystery behind Nico had me wondering the entire book if he was a good guy or bad guy. The twists and turns were crazy and the ending had me saying WTF........Man this was a good read. A super fast and easy to understand book. I call these my easy books because I fly through them. Give this one a go and see if you can figure out the ending... I give this one 4.5 stars but have rounded up.
We starting of meeting Francesca but known as Chesca to her family and close friends. She is going to her grandparents beach home in another country. They form a steamy relationships, feelings are mixed and everything become muddled. Things become a little clear and omg my mind is blown and I need to know if Chesca will eff him up in the next book?
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
This is the story of Chesca and Nico. She is a girl who is really going through a rough patch in life. If it can be thrown at her it is. She is now on the way to her grandparents beach house in another country to get away from it all. She needs a fresh start far away from the boyfriend that was really a horrible person. Got fired from her job and is just at her wits end. When she gets to the beach house she meets Nico who is a very grumpy Italian and the welcome she receives from him is anything but warm and friendly. However, when she comes upon him one night and he needs some serious help and no one is there to do it but her she helps him in his time of need. But when she needs his help will he be there to return the favor? Well I can't tell you but you are going to love finding out the answer to that question. There are secrets that Nico carries that make him the way he is. But don't give up on him. All is not as it seems. I loved reading this book and I can't wait to have the next one in my hands to find out what happens.

I was hooked from the first page. This was a 'you will feel every emotion under the sun' sort of book and I LOVED IT.
The story follows Cheska who has just been cheated on and decides to vacation for an extended period of time in the Costa Del Sol, in her familys villa.
Things then start to get very interesting after she meets the MMC. Banter, tension, organised crime, MMA, smut (and when i say smut, i mean SMUT🥵).
Miscommunication or rather the withholding of truths is a big part of this entire book. However, it adds to understanding where Cheska is coming from (even if her trust issues can be annoying😅).
Her relationship with her family, especially her brother, her bestie and her bros friends is so sweet and honestly goals.
I'm currently staring at a wall from how this book ended and need the next book of this duology like, yesterday.
If you love Ana Huang, I guarantee you'll love this book🤭
To say this book was a rollercoaster of emotions would be an understatement, and the ending left me with so many questions!!
Cheska is on vacation in Spain after being cheated on by her ex and then fired from her job, thanks to the woman her ex cheated with. She wants to take the time to get to know herself again and to enjoy her family's villa. But that all changes when she meets the mysterious Nico. Their first few encounters aren't great, but eventually, they start to fall for one another. Nico is hiding secrets, and throughout the book, Cheska finds herself in some dangerous situations. Her plan for a calm vacation is thrown out the window. He seems to be obsessed with her, but he's also doing some shady things that make you question if his feelings for her are legit, especially towards the end.
I'm honestly not sure what direction this story is going in, and I'm eagerly anticipating the next book to see where things go, especially after the time jump. I loved Cheska's relationship with her brother, his friends, and her best friend Abi. While Nico and his friends are a huge part of the book, there is also a lot that's not known about them, again, leading to unanswered questions. I cried a few times and had to pick my jaw up off the floor more than once. This book is on the darker side, so check the trigger warnings before reading.
“The sun loved him, was drawn to him. But not as much as the darkness.”
This was my first book by HR Penrose and I can say without a doubt I need the next book to be out. I couldn’t put this book down.
Cheaka escapes to her parent's villa for a long holiday after a bad breakup. Right away Cheska finds herself thrown in Nico’s path multiple times. When these two run into each other for the third time they can’t deny the attraction between one another.
But the problem with gorgeous me like Nico is they keep secrets and only let you see a side they want you to. With plenty of spicy scenes and twists in this book, you’ll be hooked for sure. You may think you have it all figured out to be proven wrong. This story has plenty of suspense and no shortage of drama.
I enjoyed reading this author for the first time! This book was an emotional rollercoaster, which is why I find it impossible to put it down!
Because of how well the characters are written, I was engrossed in what would happen to them and curious about the secrets Nico was keeping. And Chesca and Nico had a burning chemistry!
The relationship she has with her brother, his close friends, and her closest friend Abi was so sweet to me. Even though Nico and his friends play an important part in the story, there is still a lot of information that is hidden about them.
Honestly, I have no idea where this tale is headed, but I can't wait to find out in the next book—especially with the time jump.
Thank you Love Notes PR and H.R. Penrose for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It has been so long since I did an ARC review and I’m happy that I’m continuing with a book that I enjoyed!
Sometimes, you just need an good old grumpy hero to rock your world and Nico definitely filled those shoes. The mystery behind Nico's past kept me hooked throughout the book. I couldn’t agree with Francesca sometimes but she had a good chemistry with Nico.
I personally felt the book was a little slow paced at some points but otherwise a good book to read!
This was the first book I have read from HR Penrose and it didn’t disappoint I love this book it had so many twist and turns the ending really came out of left field I was yelling at characters and cursing them out but it was in such a good way this book follows Cheska who goes on vacation in Spain and ends up in a whirlwind life in the criminal underworld with Nico and oh lord will you have a fun ride on this roller coaster I rated this a 5⭐️ and it didn’t have a ton of smut so it got a low pepper rating at 3.5🌶️ but it was really good and the spice started into the book
This book was a pleasent suprise. I was sent it as part of an ARC and had trouble putting it down.
The story follows Cheska fleeing to Spain after a break up and meeting the myserious Nico. Her life takes a turn and she is plunged into a life she has never thought of before.
The characters are well written and I found myself fully investied in what happens to them and wanted to know what secrets Nico is hiding.
The book ends on a cliff hanger and you will want to head straight to the next book.
I swear every time I read a book by I am NEVER disappointed. I feel like I could relate to Chesca in just wanting to find myself and just be on my own. However fucking Nico Navarro!!! Ugghhh he’s definitely the epitome of a walking red flag. I love them but man their love in such a roller coaster of emotions. Now I will say I cried after that gut punch and I am pretty sure I cried again once I realized I was being left on such a cliffhanger!!! I have so many questions. I need book two like now.
Nico can GO FUCK HIMSELF. I hate him so much. I was destroyed by what he did to Cheska.
I don’t fucking care the reasons behind of what he did, as I’m sure will know in the second book. But the way he did everything was so disgusting. My heart breaks for Cheska, she didn’t deserve any of what happened. I’m so mad!!!

I got a complimentary copy of this and the next book from LoveNotes PR.
This book/series just isn’t for me.
I didn’t love the writing and there was no buildup or chemistry between the characters. Everything was *instant.* I don’t mind insta love stories but this had absolutely no relationship building between the characters for me.
When left humiliated by her now ex-boyfriend, Francesca does the only thing she can do, escapes. She finds solace in her parent's villa, using her alone time to figure out what she wants to do moving forward, only she didn't plan on Nico being in her path.
Their initial meeting didn't get off to a great start, but you could tell that there is definitely chemistry between them, more so when Francesca comes to Nico's aid. From there, they engage in a whirlwind romance, yet when she is warned off by her brother, it makes her more determined.
But that determination is clouded in mystery, making you wonder what Nico's intentions are and whether he is a good guy or a bad guy. But when there is manipulation going on behind the scenes, and hands are forced to fulfil other's agendas, choices and decisions are made, leading to heartbreak.
As time heals wounds and Francesca finds acceptance, giving herself to another, only for the past to come back in the most unexpected way leaving Francesa to question not only herself but her heart and body, because if that ending was anything to go by, there will be more than one broken heart, and there will be those that will not come out unscathed.
I can't wait to see how all of this unfolds for Francesca and Nico in book 2!
Highly recommend both the author and the book.
I received an ARC. Therefore, I am voluntarily leaving a review.
