Rate this book

Charlie Mortimer is a werewolf. There are three ways he can be the first is unavailable due to circumstance; the second necessitates his own death; the third, and most dangerous, requires him to find a vampire, and take its life to save his own.

Charlie is supported in his quest by a retired history teacher, a grieving and self-medicating friend, a Harley Street psychiatrist, a critical thinker from the Amalfi Coast, and a witch from the Highlands of Scotland. Together they are formidable, but will they be enough to take on a crew of London gangsters, under the leadership of one of Satan's children? Or maybe there is another way after all!

The sequel to Il Lupo, Kill and Cure is a distinct story in its own right, yet follows in the footsteps of its predecessor. Expect more thrills, more cliff-hangers, and more twists and turns, as Charlie, Frobisher and the rest face seemingly insurmountable odds.

Do I need to have read Il Lupo in order to enjoy Kill and Cure? No.
Will I want to go back and read Il Lupo after reading Kill and Cure? Probably!

I was looking forward to the sequel of Il Lupo and I was not disappointed, it actually surpassed any expectations or theories I had!

Although we are reacquainted with the same core characters of the first book, I was excited to be introduced to very well developed and interesting new ones! It can be read as a standalone, but I admit I took pleasure in reminiscing the facts (briefly summarised in the book) of the previous novel. We follow again Charlie, Nick and Ernest, plus some other important but less predominant ones in the pursuit of a cure for Charlie who's been cursed and is now a werewolf!

This task is not easy and it'll prove much more difficult than they all anticipated! Along the way we meet vampires, witches and a genial scientist, all in line with the history of the genre, which the author is very passionate about! Alongside this plot, we find again the theme of mental health which I think is handled with knowledge and care and is an appreciated addition to the story.

The plot itself is very complex but easy to follow, with unexpected scenes and directions, contributing to an exciting read.. lots of wtf were said whilst reading it! As mentioned, the characters were well developed, resulting in a very credible story.. I found the writing very descriptive which contributed to the credibility of the story (in my opinion). I can really see myself meeting Charlie or Nick in the flesh and I wouldn't be surprised at all if they started telling me their stories! The influence of the classics of the genre is really palpable, especially Anne Rice which I know the author is a fan of (how could you not be!).

The ending was unexpected and satisfying, and I say this even if we're left with a cliff hanger! And what an epilogue!

Looking forward to more of this story! Gregory Alexander Sharp has managed to rekindle my love for werewolves and vampires after years! This is not the usual creature story, but a contemporary take of the original genre of many decades ago, that has managed to change somewhat in recent years. I recommend it to anyone at least as a very entertaining read!

Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read it and this is my honest review.

I read Il Lupo 2.0 with the idea that it would be like the first. I was looking forward to returning to the big sweeping storyline of the last book, a rolling literary piece. This was not the case at all. Il Lupo 2.0 was vastly different in so many ways. This, I have to add, was not a bad thing. This was great. I was constantly engaged constantly on the edge of my seat, trying to work out what was going to happen and did not guess all. The Author was now working with established characters and their relationships, and they worked through a new set of problems raised by the Werewolf curse. If you work out the twists, you are a better person than I. Especially the big one that got me totally.

This Author has written two great books with differing writing styles. What is so impressive is that he has done so, so very well. He realised that the two books needed these differing styles, and both worked so well.

He also shares a love of the subject material and brings personal experiences to his work. He deals brilliantly with personal interactions between his characters, the difficulty of friendships and mental health issues carefully and with an understanding whilst chucking a werewolf in the mix for furry fun.

What a thrilling read. I was totally spellbound. After reading Il Lupo and learning about the characters, I was hooked. I was completely immersed in the storyline, and because of the detail it felt as if I was watching the story unfold. New characters were introduced which enhanced the already exciting storyline. So many twists and turns.
Highly recommended. Looking forward to 3.0.

Another ‘on the edge of my seat’ read! After Il Lupo, I was eagerly awaiting 2.0 and it did not disappoint - expanding on the people I loved from the first book, and introducing exciting and interesting others along the way. Still feeling as if I was travelling while unravelling the plot along with the characters, I couldn’t put this down and thoroughly enjoyed the twists and turns. Would highly recommend even if this isn’t your usual genre of book.

Good read

Authoritative and intricately plotted, the story masterfully explores themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and the battle between good and evil. The author crafts a world where alliances are tested, resilience is forged, and hope flickers even in the darkest shadows.just loved it made my weekend .

Charlie Mortimer has a problem. He's been bit by a werewolf and unless someone helps him quick, come the full moon he's going to be a growling killing machine.

Cue his friends Nick Frobisher the coffee mogul and Ernest Wainwright who set about saving the day, or night as it were.

The only real way to cure Charlie, is to get a vampire to bite him and then kill the vampire, there's only one slight problem with that, vampires are pesky beggars to eliminate and now they've got their eyes on the Frobisher empire!

Ernest isn't being entirely upfront about things. Why not? That's because Ernest holds a dark secret that could be the key to the whole thing. And to find out what, you'll have to read the book.

In Kill And Cure: Il Lupo 2.0, Charlie Mortimer suffers from a curse. In battling a werewolf, he became one. Asthma, hay fever, and panic attacks once afflicted him. Now, Charlie boasts an impressive physique and is never afraid. The more frightening the circumstances, the bolder he becomes. As a lycanthrope, Charlie may never die. His only fear is that he might kill someone. An amulet prevents the beast from emerging, yet it won't work during a full moon. Then, the beast escapes and kills anything or anyone it finds.

Nicholas Frobisher wants to help his best friend. But he's just lost his father. Nicholas had to take over the family business when his mother died ten years ago. Although he suffered too, Nicholas has excelled as President and C.E.O. of the J. Frobisher Coffee Company. Guilt over his father's death awakens the long-buried mourning for his mother. Compounded with his desire to help Charlie, Nicholas carries a heavy load. Although he knows it's a crutch, alcohol helps him cope. But alcohol has its dangers.

Ernest Wainwright has served his godson Nicholas as a mentor and friend. He's an academic who introduces Nicholas and Charlie to Maverick Mitchell. The American studied at Oxford and now works at the British Museum. Schooled in European lore, Maverick has extensive knowledge about vampires. If Charlie can convince a vampire to share its blood with him, both ancient curses may cancel out. Maverick suggests where Charlie can find a vampire. But getting a vampire to cooperate with Charlie’s wishes could prove deadly.

In Kill And Cure: Il Lupo 2.0, Charlie must give up immortality or risk killing others. Nicholas’ battle with alcohol will endanger everything he's worked so hard for. Ernest will expose a secret that shattered his life, and Maverick will discover the perils of following his heart. Gregory Alexander Sharp's novel ponders grief, the forces that rage inside us, and what it means to be human. It takes readers on a tour of London's throbbing nightclubs, Italy's picturesque Amalfi coast, and Scotland's Cairngorms National Park. It's a slow ride, rich in dialogue, explanations, misadventures, and unexpected consequences. Danger lurks throughout, endangering characters and pitting them against each other before extending its claws to slash and grasp readers' hearts with a brutal and thrilling climax.

Sharp's narrative effortlessly weaves together imaginative storytelling with an exploration of the werewolf and vampire realms, imbued with an unsettling atmosphere that warns against venturing too far. The vividly described settings—from London nightclubs to the rustic Sithean Blair farmhouse—enhance the narrative's depth. In my view, this novel epitomizes classic horror at its finest, featuring robust world-building and compelling, multi-faceted characters whose fates I eagerly followed through a complex and unpredictable plot enriched with folklore and superstitions.

While minor editorial oversights like occasional word choice errors (such as "slither" instead of "sliver") were noted, they did not detract from my overall enjoyment. Consequently, I am delighted to award Kill and Cure: Il Lupo 2 a well-deserved 5-star rating. I eagerly anticipate delving into the series' first installment, Il Lupo, and await the release of book 3 in the series. I highly recommend this book to aficionados of horror who appreciate intricately crafted narratives that resonate long after the final page is turned.

I read the the first novel and I was ecstatic when the author announced a sequel. It did not disappoint!
The book continues pretty much right where the predisessor left off. With returning characters Charlie Mortimer, Nicholas Frobisher and good old Ernest Wainwright, but also introducing new characters which added extra fizz the storyline.
Charlie, having received an unwanted curse as an Lycanthrope, is set about finding a cure from the curse with the help of his friends. They are informed that vampires could be the key to curing Charlie.
With Ernests past surprisingly announced in the first book, he has past friends and acquaintances who could possibly help them. They soon learn that they may have to come face to face with creatures that they would of only seen in films or read about in books.
This book has werewolves, vampires and witches, I mean, who doesn't love the supernatural?
I would highly recommend this book! But check out book 1 first, you will not be disappointed!
