The Great Commission: A Sermon Collection
What set Charles Haddon Spurgeon apart more than any of his other accomplishments was his ability behind the pulpit. Crowds gathered weekly, with visitors coming from around the world to hear the Holy Spirit pour out thorough his sermons. No matter the topic, modern readers would be wise to see what Spurgeon had to say. Spurgeon always made a point of directing his congregants towards Jesus Christ, and at the end of His earthly ministry the last directive Jesus gave his disciples was to go out and make disciples of all nations. In this volume Jason K. Allen has compiled some of Spurgeon’s most poignant sermons on the topic of this great commission.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon
6,152 books1,718 followersCharles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892) was England's best-known preacher for most of the second half of the nineteenth century. In 1854, just four years after his conversion, Spurgeon, then only 20, became pastor of London's famed New Park Street Church (formerly pastored by the famous Baptist theologian, John Gill). The congregation quickly outgrew their building, moved to Exeter Hall, then to Surrey Music Hall. In these venues, Spurgeon frequently preached to audiences numbering more than 10,000—all in the days before electronic amplification. In 1861, the congregation moved permanently to the newly constructed Metropolitan Tabernacle.
