Things I love about this book:

1. One-word focused simplicity
2. Organized so I can (and do!) use it two ways (a daily devotional and a quick reference in need of a specific kind of comfort or encouragement).
3. A wonderful gift for friends and family. I've given these to my mom, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, son's girlfriend, and friends (along with a journal for the simple journaling questions and suggestions).
4. I love how it creates a connecting point with the people I've given it to. A common reference guide for particular words and stories in our journeys with God.
5. It also creates a connecting point with friends who haven't read the book as a dependable way for me to find a scripture that coincides with something they are going through when I don't have deep enough words of my own. The author generously shares stories of her own struggles with fear, insecurity, sorrow, and more, in a way that fits with the things many of us go through.
6. Because of the way it's organized, I can easily find what I'm looking for when I want to revisit a particular devotional for myself or others.
7. I used to tease my mom for describing the books she likes best as "light and deeply meaningful," but that seems like a perfect description for this book : )

I love starting out my day with one of the devotions from this book! Being reminded of the many promises that God has for me really does lighten my heart and help me prepare for the day ahead. Sometimes as I'm reading, I think of a friend or relative who could use the encouragement contained in the promise for the day and I find myself reaching out to them and sharing what I've read.

Lighthearted is one of those books that you'll want to keep by your side and return to again and again. I highly recommend getting a copy for yourself (and a friend or two!)

Seattle area author Susie Crosby's new book, "Lighthearted", gives bite size essays the help me reflect, meditate, pray and start my day. Like her previous book, "Just One Word: 90 Devotions to invite Jesus in" she demonstrates how just one word can mean so much in the Kingdom of God. She expands our hearts to see how Bible verses relate to our daily lives and points the way to hope in Jesus.

Perfect, and always on time…

I loved this devotional book. It brought God’s word to life in so many different and beautiful ways. And there were some days the message was right on time… as God wants for us. He always knows, and I am grateful to Susie for sharing her gifts through this book.
