"Two of the best urban erotica authors out there today." --Urban Reviews

New York Times bestselling author Mary B. Morrison pairs with Queen of Urban Erotica Noire to deliver two tantalizing novellas about sex, revenge--and getting what you deserve. . .

Character of a Man
Mary B. Morrison

Seven Stephens seems to have it all--money, mansion, and a man--but is taken by surprise when her fiancé tells her the wedding is off if she can't lose twenty-five pounds in six weeks. In no time, she's out the door and headed for Punany Paradise for a sensual workout that's both sweet revenge and sweet surrender. . .

Sugar-Honey-Ice Tee
Noire

Blow, Nap, and Tomere are three grimy playahs from the hood. Nicknamed Dirty, Dastardly, and Depraved, these three NFL stars have no problem living up to their names on and off the field. But when they scheme to take out their biggest competition, a promising quarterback, they finally meet their match. Not in a vengeful ball player, but in three wicked and sexy sistahs. And it won't take Sugar, Honey, or Ice Tee long to wreck everything in their path. Because vicious hotties always take whatever they want and ruin whatever they please. . .

Mary B. Morrison, New York Times best-selling author is the up and coming artist with a multiple book-to-film deal. Mary has seventeen published novels including her newest release, If I Can’t Have You.

She writes for Kensington Publishing Corporation as Mary B. Morrison and Grand Central Publishing as HoneyB. In her novels Mary addresses social and sexual issues while empowering her female characters.

“Women Rule,” that’s the way I see it. “Beside every great man there is a powerful woman. The same does not hold true for every successful woman. A lot of us are single because men want to wear the pants, even if they didn’t buy them.”

Jeff Clanagan, CEO of Codeblack Entertainment and filmmaker, Leslie Small, optioned the film rights to Mary B. Morrison’s popular Soulmates Dissipate series (which includes seven novels). Her first book, Soulmates Dissipate, is being developed for feature film in 2013.

Mary is an Executive Producer on her film deal and she was Executive Producer and playwright for her stage play Single Husbands (based on her novel under her pen name HoneyB).

On June 3, 2000, Mary withdrew her retirement to self-publish her debut novel, Soulmates Dissipate. Mary has also sponsored an anthology publishing 33 students entitled Diverse Stories: From the Imaginations of Sixth Graders.

Lift Every Voice and Write is Mary’s non-profit. The organization is established to help increase literacy and support students interested in pursuing writing as a career.

Born in Aurora, Illinois, and reared in New Orleans, Louisiana, Mary is the middle child of seven. She’s a graduate of McDonogh #35 High School in New Orleans and Berkeley Community College in Berkeley, California.

Her wonderful son, Jesse Byrd, Jr. is a 2010 graduate of U.C. Santa Barbara and producer on Mary’s film deal. Jesse has recently completed his first novel and owns a clothing business, OiseauChateau.com.

Mary currently resides in Oakland, California.

Mary Morrison's part: Interesting but no character development or plot! I was so disappointed reading this because it had the potential to be a very exciting story but as usual, Mary feels like if she puts enough scandal and freakiness in her books then she doesn't have to put in work in other areas. I blow the whistle on this! It literally read like this: Blah Blah Blah analsex, or Blah Blah Blah dildopearlsorgasm. I mean, these characters were so weak and crazy, and the actual writing just didn't make sense sometimes. Mary, fire your editor and stop relying on sex to sell a novel!

Noire's part: So disappointing. I own several of Noire's books so I know the writing can be better. It was horrible and I don't use that term lightly.

See, the problem is, I used to only read Urban Fiction, so I could let the editing problems, the lack of character development, and issues like that slide. But once I expanded my reading horizons, I found out that there were writers out there, of all races and genders, who took the time to produce an almost perfect book and my expectations went up. I expect better and this was a flop.

After a boring time with another book, I needed a good relaxation time and I chose this book. Mission accomplished. This is actually 2 stories, one by Mary B. Morrison and the other by Noire. The story by Morrison didn't make too much sense to me and I didn't get into it much but I really liked the story by Noire who is an excellent urban erotica writer. Her story had less sex scenes but I enjoyed it better.

This by far has been my favorite book. It's a 2 for 1 the first by Mary B Morrison the island she told about in this story that's every freaks dream I loved it the heartbreak the drama but if a man every spoke to me as Maverick spoke he would've been picking his teeth off the ground. The second was by Noire and Sugar, Honey, Ice Tea was this excellent my favorite was when the NFL player said forget my boys I'm getting my sisters. I was laughing to tears. I've read this book multiple times passed it on.

I enjoyed this book. I am not really a fan of short stories... I did really like Morrison story better than Noire. But overall not a bad pick.
