Fascinating. The tone is reminiscent of the voiceover at the start of a fifties sci-fi movie, the serious voice that tries to convince you that the tale of flying saucers you're abut to see is deadly serious and really happened. There's also a LOT of tech detail, room specifications, furniture descriptions. The end result is something like I'd imagine an episode of the Twilight Zone written by Tom Clancy to be like.

Which, for the record, is disconcertingly odd and right up my alley.

Ultra-force. American lead reconstruction?

This book held such promise. The mystery and science fiction were setting up for something interesting. Then, they jumped the shark. The doctors out of this world conclusions based on nothing but hunches. Reprogramming victims who then know everything and are happy to recite. A dog? Really? A simmering romance? This book lost its way. The end was just sloppy and way too cutsey.
