This book has 2 stories in it, I did not care for the first story at all, Yuletide Ransom, the sisters annoyed me so much. Holiday Rescue Countdown was better.

The 2023 Christmas season brings readers a set of two novellas in the Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit series.
Yuletide Ransom by author Katy Lee is a tension filled story involving three members of the K-9 unit. Veronica Eastwood wakes up to a nightmare, the cabin she and her sister are vacationing in is on fire. Worse yet, Jasmin is missing. When it appears that her sister abandoned her to the deadly fire, she calls for help and isn't happy that Parker Walsh comes to her aid with their canines. The two battle against the elements and an enemy they can't seem to see while searching for Jasmin. This is such a good story about misunderstanding, forgiveness, loyalty and love. My favorite of the two novellas.
In Holiday Rescue Countdown Brandie Weller gets caught up in fellow K-9 officer Dylan Jeong's traumatic encounter with his past. Borrowing Willow's K-9, Star, the duo is on a fast-paced search to detect explosives in a community that is celebrating the Christmas season. Dylan learns a valuable lesson as he struggles to discover who is out to get him. His teenage niece is staying with him during this time. I wish that that part of the story had been a little more detailed. Maybe a few paragraphs about their Christmas observance.
I received this book from the authors in return for my own opinion in a review. It rates a 4 out of 5 with me. I appreciate the opportunity. It is a good read for the season.

Two novellas set in the Pacific Northwest.
Yuletide Ransom by Katy Lee: This story has action from the first paragraph when Veronica Eastwood awakens to their rented cabin on fire and her sister missing! You will admire the K-9s and their handlers as Veronica and her coworker Parker Walsh work to find out what is going on.
Holiday Rescue Countdown by Sharee Stover: K-9 handlers Dylan Jeong and Brandie Welter work to prevent the loss of lives when a bomb threat is received similar to a crime Dylan solved in the past. That criminal is supposed to be in prison so who sent this threat! Brandie is a brave woman!
I recommend K-9 National Park Defenders to others who enjoy suspense. I received a complimentary advance copy of the book from the authors. This is my honest opinion.

The first three parts of this series were very good.
The fourth part was fine in writing, but the narrator was choppy and it seemed like she was doing a cold reading of that section of the collection.
