The neighbors are weird, the weather is unpredictable . . . but the scenery is to DIE for.
Summer, 1994. When Dodd, a fourteen-year-old mystery enthusiast, reluctantly moves with his mom from the big city to the sleepy burb of Dahmerville, he quickly realizes that things are not what they seem. As he uncovers a conspiracy behind the town’s missing people, bizarre electrical storms, and massive graveyard, Dodd finds himself caught up in a dangerous game of murder and magic. When the true nature of his mother’s job is revealed, working for the department of tourism to lure new victims to the town, it’s unclear who can be trusted. With only his faithful hound, Fox, to rely on, the awkward teen will have to face his worst fears to contend with the evil forces controlling Dahmerville and save those he cares about . . . just as soon as he’s done mowing the lawn.
Received this book in a Goodreads Giveaway. It was a fairly good book, at time it was juvenile, but had to remember this was geared towards young readers. It is a quick read and a page turner. It was good enough that I put the other author’s books on the to be read pile.
This book was amazing. It has super sinister vibes gives you chills and goosebumps as you are transported into the life of Dodd, a 15 year old who moves to Dahmerville with his mom who is seeking change and betterment for her family after the divorce from Dodds father. Little do they know the dangers and oddities that are waiting for them in Dahmerville. This does have likenesses of actual serial killers so triggers beware. I would love for this book to have a sequel with the ending!

This story is filled with plenty of 90’s nostalgia and captivating twists. Author Christopher Charlton, creates delightfully humorous exchanges amongst the scariest of circumstances. A perfect blend of humor and horror. With true crime elements and the supernatural weaved throughout, this twisted tale will pull you in immediately. A must read!!
I really enjoyed the twists and turns that Welcome to Dahmerville provided. If you grew up in the 90's and also like horror and mystery you will love this book. I especially appreciated the nostalgia index - what a great way for the writer to share their experiences and influences that helped to shape the story.
Okay, I have to say this one was hard to put down seriously. I absolutely loved it. This book is like a much more mature and creepy version of Goosebumps jam packed with action, paranormal activities, laughs, and twists. As a true crime fan, I picked up pretty early on the various killers' names before Dahmer or Gein or even Bundy were mentioned which made it even more interesting to see where it was going to lead. This story will take you down a rabbit hole of mystery and murder and you will definitely be sucked into it and find it hard to see what's going on.
It was fine. I needed a palette cleanser after a heavy read and getting through this book in just a few hours was nice. Did a lot of skimming. Could’ve done without the references to Dahmer, the zodiac killer, John Wayne Gacy, Ted Bundy and Lizzie Borden but overall, the story was light and this was a quick read. It definitely gave 90’s vibes. Fox, the doggo, was my favorite character. I’m glad I received this book in a giveaway, I would’ve been very disappointed otherwise.
I won this book as a good read giveaway. If you are a horror fan, then you'd probably love this.
It's a pretty interesting read. I don't wish to give away any spoilers. I enjoyed this book. Though, it's rated towards a younger audience. The characters are interesting, and the events have addicted you to the story. You want to know more. What is going on in Dahmersville? Why is it called that?
I was very excited for this book and I can't wait to see the print edition!! It sets the stage early on for the kind of horror and spooky mystery that gives a reader those nostalgic feels for their favorite R.L. Stine books along with all kinds of great Easter eggs and humor that really put you back in the mid 90's, and right along side Dodd, even if you've never been to Dahmerville before.
This was an intense rollercoaster of a ride from start to finish. When Dodd and his faithful companion Fox arrive at Dahmerville he’s still mulling over his old life in New York. When one bike ride changes their lives. From meeting diverse and funny characters to finding out the mysteries of the city this is such a great book!
I loved this book I couldn’t put it down I can’t waste till I can afford a signed copy so I can read it over and over again thank you soooooo much for creating such an amazing book
This book was a real page turner. I loved all the 90 nostalgia being a 90s kid. Keeps you wanting to read the next page with all the twists and turns. Gave goosebumps and fear street vibes which i loved .
Stephen King meets Disney I loved all the nostalgia of the 90’s the crazy funny twists and turns and the fact it was a clean read. I felt like the ending was a bit far fetched for me but kids/teens would really enjoy it
Perfect creepy little book. Being from a small town I could totally see this being a thing lol! Just kidding. Perfect combo of thriller yet funny. Loved it
This is the story of Dodd and Carol. Carol is Dodd’s mother, who, after her divorce can no longer afford to live in New York. She gets a job in Dahmerville and moves her and Dodd into town. Quickly, things escalate and Dodd realizes that there are weird things going on in this town. With the help of a few unlikely allies, Dodd needs to save the day. This book was an absolute delight, I found myself enthralled in the story and feeling like I could not put it down. It’s the type of book that you pick up and feel like you need to read in one sitting because there are twists and turns everywhere and you absolutely need to know what happens next. I would definitely recommend this book, it’s a must read.
