This is your guide to all the things that happen after “I do.”
The advice in this book to brides is pretty simple. You don’t need to become an expert on men. Only one man. Learn the secrets to loving and respecting him while also asking for what you need. Take an honest look at your own its unwritten codes, how it has shaped you, and the ways it affects your relationship with your husband. Learn how to speak each other’s “language” and appreciate the qualities each of you brings to your marriage.
Susan DeVries and Bobbie Wolgemuth offer a solid, approachable look at improving communication skills, secrets for a great sex life, budgeting basics, dealing with in-laws, navigating tough times and much more. Above all, you’ll cultivate a spiritual unity that draws the two of you closer to each other as you draw closer to God.
What Every Bride Needs to Know will help make your first year together as husband and wife what it was meant to the most important year in your life.
A very compact book with a lot of good information! I would reccomend it as a good starting place for a new bride who wants to do everything she can for her marriage, but it is by no means comprehensive, and should be read as a platform for more reading, more information, rather than read as a guide or manual.
A wonderful read for a Christian woman looking to strengthen her marriage. Although I wished my husband read the other half- I wouldn't recommend this if both halves aren't read. If both spouses agree to read this book, I think it would be much more beneficial and informative!
It seemed a good book among many other books about marriage. I think it is never enough study about marriage, for we really should effort ourselves the best we can to live such holy office from God. But the main message still forever the same: it only works with humility and with God together.
