Sammie, Brody, Alex, and Jolene are the fabulous, feisty girls from the After School Club and each has their own story to tell. They all have very different lives and all have families who can be a complete pain, but through all their ups and downs they have one common bond . . . even when they're not the best of friends.

This book my sister picked up from the library and we've been reading it together. I liked the fact that the author was able to take 4 very different girls in many types of family problems and issues and connect them all through there stories. The one things that ties all these girls together are the fact that they all meet and go to the after school program. The writing at some parts is hard to understand because of the English accent grammar, but it fun book to read overall.
Book 1: its about a girl named Sammie whose life at home is the last thing she wants to think about. She's always glad to go to school for 6 hours and be happy there, where things aren't all mixed up. Her father left her and her 2 sisters, because there parents had too many disagreements and decided its best to separate. Her sisters like to make fun of her and aren't the most supportive they can be and they constantly make fun of her appearance. In school she's in a contest with the rest of her class to see who can raise the most money.she lies to her teacher and tells him that she's raise $100 and now she has to find a way to come up with the money. The money that she's saved up at home her mother uses it to buy her self boots and lies to her daughter. When Sammie enters this after school program she meets the schools child model whose rich. Book 2: This is about Brody and her life as a child model. Life is great for her she has everything. Her mom was an ex-super model and her dad is a photographer. Like she says her family's kinda messed up)She's tries to be friendly and become friends with Jolene but Jolene would rather ignore her and watch TV. Brody goes to the after school program, which Sammie goes to as well. Jolene comes along and befriends a girl named Alex whose the trouble maker in the after school program. They start to cause trouble and take this book that one of the kinds at the program like Brody decides to confront them and gets into a argument with Jolene and she pushes Brody of the porch. This lands her in the ER room where she's missing a front tooth and has a couple scratched. When her teacher ask her what happened she tells them that she slipped and it was an accident. later that night before Jolene goes home she talks to Brody. She tells her sorry and that she mom left her with them because she couldn't deal with her and was annoyed by her. Book 3 Alex has a lot to deal with, with being in the shadow of her dead brother to always feeling forgotten and unloved by her family especially her mother.
