This was a slow burn filled with emotion and chemistry that was so hot. I have fallen for these soldiers and in this one, Devon made it easy.

Devon's home life growing up was traumatic and cruel much of the time. He was a play toy for his stepfather and it broke my heart to read about it. Despite everything he went through, he was able to find solace in a group of misfits boys who were needing him just as much as needed them. Together they vowed to avenge and destroy the guilty. As one, they carried out the gritty that people weren't aware of or turned a blind eye to. The Reaper was especially creative in his ways of inflicting the very best justice.

Leah May grew up sheltered, but not so naive. With it just being her father (the local preacher) and herself she had to be created in how she explored her world. She felt unseen by most and felt at peace in the shadows and darkness. Which helped her keep her secret hidden from preying eyes. Little by little she gets braver... until she is finally seen.

Together, these two were perfection. They healed each other's broken parts. They were able to be seen in the light, but also hid away in the dark. As one, they burned the world up.

I can't wait for the next soldier!

***4,25 "The Reaper and His Raven!!!" stars***

"I wanted to be death. I wanted to become that dark, silent visitor that everybody feared."

At this point, I honestly don't know which Soldier I love more... I am sure that Nikki will confuse us even more when the rest of the stories will come to our way...
Yep, The Psycho, Adam Noble was swoon-worthy, but I liked Devon's quitness and levelheadness.... He had a different appealing to me and I like him very much!!!!
My heart was breaking for everything that he had to endure as a child, but now, he has taken the reins of his life to his own hands and he is determined to make pay everyone that deserve it with his brother's at his side!!!

"Hurt one, hurt all, that was our motto and we lived by it every single day."

The Soldiers of Anarchy are kind of psychos and bloodthirsty, but now, in their books, I am realising that there is reason behind their actions and I am starting to be very fond of them...
Yep, they are doing really bad things, but honestly, the people at the receiving end are not saints...
Devon is The Reaper of the group, the serious one, the more logical... He loves to play with his victims but not without a reason!!!
He is content with his life and his work, but a little raven is catching his eyes and he can not stay away from her, even though he is trying to...

"She was like poison infecting my mind. Creeping into my brain and squeezing tightly, begging for any attention."

Leah May is an innocent and very good girl... She is the vicar's daughter and she has to act a certain way...
But Leah May is having a secret... She has a big infatuation for one of the Soldiers of Anarchy and even though she shouldn't, it is something that have turned out to be an obsession...
Ten whole years Leah is pinning after Devon, but he doesn't even know that she exists and that saddens her greatly...
But then one day, he is in front of her doorstep and she is not anymore content with watching him from far away...

"He was mine. A sacred, dark secret that I kept locked in my dark heart."

These two were living worlds aparts, but the pull between them was too strong to be ignored...
They had a big road ahead of them, but can love ignore everything that is standing in between them???
I thought that Devon would be a terrified guy, but honestly, he was kind, protective, loyal and very thoughtful!!! I really liked him, even though his hand was stained with blood... I just wanted to hug him and never let go...
As for Leah??? God, this girl was just perfect for this man!!! She was seeing the darkness in him, she was embracing it and she wasn't letting him go and that was exactly what Devon needed in his life...
They both needed someone to love them unconditionally and in a very unconditional way, they have found each other...

"The reaper and the raven.
One can see death and the other deals with it.
They're a perfect pair."

I really loved and this story by Nikki J. Summers' pen and I can not wait for more of this world and this fucked up men...
This is a dark and bloody world, and it is better to proceed with care if you want to enter...
You will not find heroes in here, only unredeemable antiheroes, but I can guarantee that they are having the ability to sneak under your skin!!!

"Antiheroes at their finest, that was what we were. Evil wrapped in good intentions."

When the reapers loves the raven is a dark, beautiful full chaos love story. Don’t tell the men of Sandlot, but I love the soldiers of Anarchy.

“The reaper and the raven. One can see death, and the other deals with it. They’re a perfect pair.”

Devon and Leah May are a perfect pair. Each can see the other for who they are and accept them.

The author is the queen of a slow burn; she grips your attention and keeps you there, and her storytelling is fantastic. She also goes into great detail about backstories, which I always appreciate. The beginning of how the reaper was born drew me to this book.

As always, another hit from the author; now to read the Joker. I Love Colton.

The psycho was okay for me.. but THE REAPER!!! Devon was so good!!

We met some of the gang in the last book so when we first get to see him in his glory he was helping a girl who got drugged and almost raped he does the gentleman thing and takes her to her cousin house and that’s when he is sprung he meets Leah may who is alil nervous and blabs many facts about things but he knows he can’t do nothing she’s a girl of the church they wouldn’t work out. Little did he know Leah has been sorta stalking him from afar she knows him years ago being his little shadow now he saw her but nothing happens this is Leah make it or break it can she keep doing this to herself. From that moment on Devon feels her sees her and she makes it known that she can take care of herself. I love their chemistry and how no matter what she does or says he thinks it’s cute.. even when she id caught by the guys and him when they were taking care of some trash.

We also see Devon’s horrible past and some demons that are coming back, the villain I was surprised but further in I guessed who it was. Glad things worked out for everyone in the end.

Quickie Review

So The Reaper was a delightful installment and I really had a blast with this one here. The Reaper is a story I was really looking forward to because the dynamic of the couple I was really excited for. This is definitely what I love to see in a dark romance and I feel like we don't see this dynamic too oftne. I was also pleasantly surprised to seeing that the heroine has been the one pining after the hero. She has been in love with him for years and been watching him from the distance. She is more sheltered and was raised as a Christian but she also yearns for more in her life. And wants to be what she needs to be to be with Devon. Devon is the true leader of the group and is the heart of them all. He is going through some things emotionally and it's starting to make him crack beneath the surface. And being in a relationship with his little raven is what really makes him want to fight. There were moments of this story that just dug deep on an emotional level. I truly wasn't expecting it. As the first book was completely different from this one. So this author really developed a story that I wasn't expecting. The relationship between these two was full of heart and spice. So well-balanced and I really respected that it wasn't all about the sex. The author was able to deeply layer it. It felt like it had more balance than the first book did in that regard. The only issue I had with this book was the heroine. So the heroine is gentle, and kind but reserved. And there was this rhetoric throughout the story of her changing because she had to be so tough. Who said that just because you have a gentle sweet nature you aren't strong? Eventually, the heroine learns to accept who she is and not force herself into someone that she isn't but it did get a bit annoying at times. I am not sure if this was intentional by the author or it just evolved like this but I did enjoy seeing how our heroine turns out in the end and it delivered so many happy feels for me in the end. And the villain and how that is resolved SHOCKED me and tore me apart but it was brilliantly done and I am really happy with the hero and how it comes to a sweet satisfying conclusion where the plot of this was involved.

WOW, WOW, WOW…

The Reaper… I absolutely LOVE HIM! love love love!!
After reading The Psycho, Miss Summers had her work cut out to outdo our Adam, but damn does she bring it with Devon… I mean, they are neck and neck at this point because I can’t pick between them!

You need to meet Devon and Leah May for yourself so I’m not going to put any spoilers but let me just say… graveyard *winky face*

This book has it all and it is another epic instalment to the Soldiers of Anarchy series.
Bravo Nikki.
FIVE STARS.
Highly recommend.

I liked this one better than the first book.

Other than the predictable end, I'd say The Reaper aka Devon had more emotions than I thought he would which made him feel more real. Also a guy who uses the katana for his kills? Swoon 😍

Leah May was a great balance to the book with her being the stalker and the one who's obsessed in this book. I liked the FMCs not being afraid to show or tell what they liked and Leah was very bold in that aspect.

I was the most interested about Colton and knowing that his book is next, I'll read it asap!

And if you really must know, maybe making out in the graveyard is something to tick off from your bucket list one day.

You know what? This was actually kinda cute. Insta love, but I don't mind. In fact, I really liked it. As mentioned before in my review for The Psycho, I would not classify this series (so far) as a dark romance. I'd say it's a romance with certain dark elements (but nothing too triggering). I'm probably too far gone in this genre since this series is a very light dark romance for me (if we really go to see it that way lmao). Excited to read Colton's story next and to see him get down on his knees for that one *very* special woman🥰😍

I am IN LOVE with this standalone series so far. The way Nikki J. Summers can hook you in right from the first page… it’s astounding.

Leah May has had a crush on Devon since they were younger, but Devon never realized. During a chance reencounter they meet face to face again and Devon’s attraction to her is immediate.

Gosh, these two are absolutely perfect for each other!

This was a slow moving, slow burn, emotional kind of read that got its hooks into me straight away. The push and pull put me on an emotional roller coaster. It’s a heart breaking journey like no other.

I can't wait to dive back into this world again. I’m super pumped to read about our mysterious Jokester!

Beautifully written! Highly recommend!

Another fantastic book by this author. I love this world she has created, and to be honest, it's not difficult to imagine it being real. These two characters were perfect for each other, and their instant attraction and chemistry were tangible. Love this series and can't wait for the next one.

So this is the second book in the series and it’s safe to say I loved! I mean Adam pretty much kicked up my heart in his psycho chest but I got enough love for them all😏
Nikki does it again, every book I have read by her so far I have absolutely loved, been hooked and hanging on till the very end. Her writing style is beautiful and I’m totally here for them all.

Our two leads are Leah and Devon, from two completely different ways of life but are they really so different. They both walk within the shadows, seen but unseen at the same time.. Leah has been the Raven watching over Devon for a long time but for a smart man such as the reaper he has never noticed her. Until she is thrust into his face and the chemistry is undeniable.

Devon is the reaper we all need!! He and the soldiers keeping the streets clean of the filth that walks them, they keep you safe from people you wouldn’t even see coming. Devon has one mission be the man who takes care of business, his self made family and keep the demons at bay. So what happens when the girl with the raven hair and eyes that tell you everything takes up a permanent residence in his mind. He becomes possessive and protective of her more than any other before. Will he be able to keep her or just keep her safe from a past he thought he had long Buried?

Leah *swoon* okay I have a total girl crush on Leah, that will not be ignored! She is beauty in the truest form, she speaks with no filters and has a soul painted with grey spots! The daughter to a man of god, who lives for the darkness and shadows. She has been watching over Devon for many years and for him to notice her will be enough but it’s not enough for him now that he’s seen her. She has her own demons that only go silent in the presence of the reaper. Can she keep him safe? Will his last destroy her before they can truly find peace within each other?

I LOVE these two so much, they are so perfect for each other it’s unreal.

Twists you won’t expect, steaminess that will leave you sweating and darkness that you will want to sink into.

4.5 stars I loved this. Like, a lot. CHECK YOUR TRIGGERS BECAUSE THIS IS A DARK, GRITTY ROMANCE. The touch her and 💀 vibes are immaculate, How possessive and terrified of his new feelings Devon is about Leah May is incredible. The fact Leah May longed for Devon for so long..yes, give me all of that. I CANNOT wait for The Joker because it's going to be incredible just like the last two books. Really Nikki Summers has found the biggest fan in me and if I can read all their books before The Joker comes out, you bet your butt that I will. I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.

This book was FAR too insta-lovey for me. I enjoyed Devon’s backstory but found Leah to be really awkward and annoying. Their love story was really fast paced and I didn’t find myself rooting for them because we were given no reason to.
The spice was good, the plot of Vinnie being “back from the dead” was good, the love story could have done with some more work.

The full reason I started this series was to read Colton’s book and now I genuinely don’t know if I can bring myself to read it because the series so far has been lacklustre at best.

Devon Brady is The Reaper, a member of the Soldiers of Anarchy in a little town in England. They own an old asylum that they converted into a club, their private home and the chapel they use as their interrogation chamber, to put it mildly.
Devon had a very hard childhood, his stepfather was mean and did things to Devon no child should be put through. Devon swears to make his stepdad pay for all the hurt he has inflicted once he’s old enough.
He’s in his early twenties now and life is good, he takes his job seriously and one night at the club he has to help a girl, Jodie after someone tried to take advantage of her. When he drops her off he meets her, Leah May, and his world gets upside down.

Leah May believes she’s The Raven, the perfect match for The Reaper and as they start to spend more time together is evident the connection these two share was written in the stars.

This book is so amazing, it’s hard for me to come up with the words as to describe why. There’s so much darkness but also so much love! Nikki was able to create a book full of dichotomies yet blended them beautifully in an all consuming story. I’m in love with their love, how it blooms despite all of their obstacles. It’s just perfect! I can’t wait for book 3 in the series.

I’ve missed the Soldiers of Anarchy and I was so happy to be back with the gang! I have been looking forward to reading Devon’s book and oh boy he stole my heart. I thought no one could top Adam Noble but I was wrong.

My heart went out to Devon, being tortured and used as a plaything by his stepfather as a child. The traumatic experience taught him how to control his emotions but also made him vengeful. He swore to avenge those who wronged him and he did. He later joined the Soldiers, bringing justice to the world by punishing and eliminating those who are guilty. Devon was the logical, composed, deadly executioner of the group, known as The Reaper.

One night, a low life drugged a girl at the club and tried to take advantage of her. The soldiers saved her in time. When Devon dropped her home, he met Leah May. He was starstruck by her, never had he been affected by someone to that extent before. He firmly believed no one could ever love a murderer, let alone the daughter of a vicar, so he shut his feelings down.

Leah May watched Devon from afar for years. Contrary to what he thought, she supported the Soldiers. Her infatuation turned into obsession and she developed strong feelings for him. She was content with living in the shadows and loving him from a distance. But when he finally noticed her, she wanted more.

Despite their lives being at opposite ends of the scale, there was a magical pull between Devon and Leah May that kept bringing them together. The chemistry and intensity of their love were amazing. I found Leah May’s quirkiness adorable and I thought she complemented Devon really well. As always, I enjoyed the banter among the soldiers. The dynamic of the group was incredible. Another 5 star from Nikki and I can’t wait to read about the next Soldier.

The second book in The Soldiers of Anarchy Series.
Nikki takes us back into the boys world and this time its Devons story.

The Soldiers Reaper, a dark, haunted soul is the darkness. From a haunted past, he walks through life taking no s**t from anyone.

Then theres Leah whose quietly watched Devon from afar for a long time.

A beautiful, dark love story. This is my favourite book of the series so far.

I’m not often lost for words after reading a book these days but after reading The Reaper by Nikki Summers I was. This is a dark and twisted love story, one that reeled me in from the first chapter! Devon and Leah have a relationship that no one could see coming, a killer and the vicar’s daughter!

Now you would expect a sweet and innocent heroine and in some ways Leah has a shyness but deep down she is just as twisted as Devon. She has always hidden in the shadows and hid herself away from Devon but then they meet face to face Leah knows that she has her opportunity to come out from the shadows and show Devon who the real Leah is.

Devon is dark, ruthless and damn hot! Having experienced a cruelty that no one should ever face, Devon makes it his mission to try and protect his friends, family and community from the darkness. Knowing his soul is tainted he never expected to meet a soul that has a dark sweetness, once that he just can’t seem to let go.

Once Devon and Leah overcome some obstacles, their relationship goes from smouldering to an inferno! They have some of the best chemistry that I have read in a long time and I was so invested in the making their relationship work that I could feel my hands getting sweaty and my heart racing.

For me this book was seductive and I loved it! I am so excited for Book 3 in the series and I can’t wait to read more of Nikki’s work!

How do I start reviewing such perfection? How do I even begin to describe everything Devon and Leah May made me feel? Nikki J Summers doesn't write lovers, she writes soulmates! The intensity, the connection, the ocean of emotions flowing from each page was overwhelming in the best of ways. I couldn't put it down for a minute and believe me, I didn't want it to end. I can't get enough of this series and this book is another addictive story you need to read.

"The reaper and the raven. One can see death, the other deals with it. They're the perfect pair."

If you've followed my reviews for a while, you know how much I love The Soldiers. The Psycho is on my top 5 best reads of 2021. I knew I was going to obsess over Devon's story, I just didn't know how much and I can't even explain it. I think I highlighted half of the book, there were so many beautiful quotes and pieces of dialogue that made my heart soar. The intrigue, the heartbreaking wounds of the past, the need for vengeance, the thirst for justice, the acceptance, the understanding, the incredibly romantic moments and the fiercest love between Devon and Leah May took my heart out and held it from start to finish.

Devon intrigued me from the start of the series. Adam's right hand. His heart was made of loyalty, justice and love. Love for his family, love for the soldiers and love for the raven he didn't know he'd been needing his entire life. This guy stole my heart. He was an angel in a devil's disguise, a good man at heart who proved it over and over and just wanted to keep his loved ones and innocent people safe. He deserved someone who saw him for that and loved the broken pieces of his heart. His inner dialogue was so intriguing and sometimes even funny. Nikki did a magnificent job building the intrigue and forcing him in every page to face his fears, doubts and shadows of his past and killing every demon like the king he was. I loved how Leah was able to bring up the soft and sweet side of him but also toughening up the protective side of him, but never putting aside his Soldier soul. He was perfection and deserved the happy ending he got.

"Evil deeds can be done for a good cause, and good people do bad things all the time. what matters is what we do with our lives, what's in our hearts, and from what I could see, Devon's heart was pure."

I cannot express how much I loved Leah May. How unapologetically herself she was, no shame, no fear. She said what she wanted, did what she wanted and went after what she wanted despite her insecurities. She wanted Devon and she got him. Her story with Devon was the sweetest thing and so heartbreakingly beautiful. She also had a protective heart and the silent effort she made to be part of his world was the sweetest effing thing in the world. She was sensitive and so well grounded and hella smart and talented. She understood Devon and his duty with the Soldiers, his heart and his motives. My heart swooned so hard every time she'd encouraged him or reassured him about the goodness of his heart and how worthy he was of being loved for all eternity.

"This girl saw me. She knew what I was, what I'd done, and she liked me anyway. What sort of fool lets a girl like that walk away?"

I'm telling you, this book made me feel so many different emotions. How they listened to each word the other said with attention, how supportive they were of each other's talents and passions, how intense they were in and out of the bedroom and how beautiful and romantic their connection was... it was all the perfect blend between dark, sweet, romantic and hot. Have I mentioned how hot they were? Oooff... had to fan myself during sexy time. My goodness, the steam was right on point.

The romance was all beautifully intertwined with the suspense sub-plot of the book, which, as always... blew my mind in different level. God! There were so many times were I was left with my jaw to the floor with the twists and turns Nikki threw into the mix. The Soldiers had to face the evilest of evils again, and as always justice was served and good overcame evil. Aaahh! It was so good to see them together again, this time with Liv being like the mama hen of the Soldiers Family. They got me all emotional and teary-eyed with their brotherhood and loyalty to each other. Really, Chef's kiss!

I seriously cannot wait to have this baby in my shelf next to The Psycho and will be waiting impatiently for book 3, which I know it will be just as awesome.

A million thanks to Nikki J Summers for gifting me this ARC in exchange for an honest review and for ruining me for all other books. This hangover will last at least a week.

“The reaper and the raven. One can see death, and the other deals with it. They’re a perfect pair…Where one exists, the other will follow. The scythe and the shadow. A dual reminder that nothing last forever.”

OMG! This story was utterly beautiful in all it’s darkness. I am just blown away by the intense emotions that were on every page. I cried over and over again from the beautiful and poignant words and the absolute love and devotion that just oozed off the pages. Devon and Leah May take us on a beautiful journey of acceptance, forgiveness, healing, passion and love. I could not get enough of these two! They had my heart soaring.

“Who was this girl who’d crashed into my life this morning, talking about symbols and imagery like she was reading a script torn from my very soul? Was she the universe’s way of fucking with me? A dark angel sent to test my resolve, my patience, and mortality?”

Leah May’s undeniable love for Devon and her dedication to protecting him from afar was beautiful and heartwarming. She is brave, fearless and just wanted to be seen by Devon. When they finally collide, fireworks exploded and two souls finally found their other half. They were definitely soulmates in every sense of the word. I was hooked on these two and wanted their story to continue long after I was finished.

“You see hell all around you, it’s everywhere you look, but I don’t. I’m not stupid, Devon. I don’t use rose-tinted glasses in life, but when I look at you and your world, all I see are fragments of a twisted, contorted, self-inflicted hell that’s scattered on the floor. Broken pieces from your life that made you who you are, but they’re shattered and broken for a reason. You fought to make them that way. Scars show you’ve fought a battle and won. The destruction I see is beautiful, a beautiful chaos. I’d take those fractured parts a million times over some make believe heaven that doesn’t make me feel anything.”

Brilliantly written with such beautiful words, phenomenal characters and a storyline that will make you laugh a little, cry a little and grasp your kindle tightly with all of the twists and turns throughout. It’s dark and gritty but definitely sweet and sexy too! Prepare to fall hopelessly in love with the Reaper.

“You’re not a lost cause, Devon. You’re just a lost soul. At least, you thought you were. But I’ve never seen you in that way.”
“What did you see?”
“The other half of me.”

This is the first romance I’ve read from this talented lady but it definitely won’t be the last. I have a little catching up to do in this series with Adam and Olivia's story (The Psycho), but this standalone was easy to follow without feeling like I had missed something.

Five guys with troubled pasts have become their own family. On the surface, they run a popular nightclub, their vigilante justice meted out secretly in the shadows under cover of night. Devon Brady is known as The Reaper, first reaping the souls of his tormentors when he was barely of legal age. His purpose in life is to punish truly evil men, with his face being the last thing they see as he sends them into the hereafter.

Leah May Johnson may be the vicar's daughter, but she's loved Devon Brady for most of her life. The boy she promised to watch over is now a man, but that man doesn’t know she exists. Not until an accidental, serendipitous meeting takes place, and now she is all Devon can see.

I’m not sure what is more unsettling, the fact that our hero is a vigilante killer or that this talented storyteller made me love him. Devon is dark, and broken, wearing the scars of his horrible childhood as armor. Most would say this anti-hero is far too damaged and evil to be redeemed. But when Devon falls, he falls hard and there's no turning back. And his love for his raven-haired Leah lets us see that this devil has a soft underbelly and compassionate heart.

Dark romance lovers will devour this one and be begging for more, but its tender, powerful, compelling love story will appeal to romance readers of any kind. Fast paced and mesmerizing with some shocking twists, this one kept me on the edge of my seat as I read it straight through. Prepare to have your heart stolen as this irresistible hero you'll hate to love finds peace and redemption with his fated mate.

The Reaper by Nikki J. Summers brings another bad boy-good girl romance with twists, action and suspense. Leah May is the sweetest girl but her heart is craving the darkness in Devon. They are from two different worlds yet their soul is one.

Devon has promised himself that he will take revenge on his abusive cruel stepfather. And he did it with his friends who are equally twisted and unhinged. Together they run The Sanctuary in an old asylum. This club with it's dark and public sides are only a part of what they do. The vicar's daughter is the last person Devon should get involved with. But Leah May has a magical effect on him with her light beautiful soul. Will his past put them all in danger?

I feel this story had a lot of potential. Devon has been pictured as this ruthless and devilish guy but the consistency was lacking sometimes. The whole set up was brilliant. An old asylum with an old chapel. The gothic vibes. The band of bad boys who have their own moral compass. There are a lot of violence and gore so read responsibly. Leah May is a complete contradiction. She is innocent and sweet and has a good soul. But she also wants the darkness in Devon. She wants to heal him and seal his broken soul. But it was a bit hard to get into their connection. Leah May's obsession was from a long long time and it didn't make sense why she suddenly wanted to be noticed. Devon was also almost immediately deep in her while I expected them to have a lot of push and pull. The family background of Leah could have been another potential source of conflict. It started so well and I was so excited but the story lost the raw and gritty vibe somewhere. Still it was an enjoyable read.

Ahhhh it’s official I am now obsessed with The Reaper….

Since reading The Psycho a while back, I have been OBSESSED with this series! I absolutely loved the first book and I couldn’t wait to finally read The Reaper.

This is Devon and Leah May’s story, which is a very dark yet very romantic story about two lost souls finding their other half. Devon has been through hell and he may seem like a cold person, but when Leah May is around he is just the perfect book boyfriend. Devon is very possessive of what’s his and I am all for that! Ugh, his backstory was such a heartbreaking one that definitely pissed me off. Gah, I wanted to smack a certain person from his childhood. Don’t worry though Devon takes care of that. 🤫💀
Leah May is such a unique character that I love so much! She’s the perfect match for Devon and a true bad*ss! Leah May is sweet yet also has a very feisty side to her that you wouldn’t expect. I absolutely loved their story! It’s such a dark and beautiful book that will definitely leave you wanting so much more.

This book is definitely not for the faint of heart though. There are definitely some things that may be triggering for some. It’s a very dark series with possessive characters that will do anything to protect the ones they love. The soldiers of anarchy may seem crazy for the things they do. But I love them so much for how much they care about protecting others! There’s plenty of action and uh, torture… 💀

For real though, this was a fantastic story! It’s got everything I need in a dark romance. Action, drama, angst, and lots and lots of steammmm. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I highly recommend checking this series out if you like dark romance with very possessive males.

I can’t wait for third book!!!

5 Stars!!

"The reaper was going to enjoy taking his soul to hell."

I absolutely love this world that Nikki has created, starting with the Rebels of Sandland series and now the spin off Soldier of Anarchy. Nikki has a real talent to create a world and characters that stay with you, long after you have finished reading. I would say that this series is definately darker than first and that just adds to the addictive quality of these stories. I am obsessed!

"We're just your friendly neighbourhood assassins, and you, my friend, have become our next hit.”

I have to say, I didn't think that Adam and Liv could be beat, but Devon and Leah May stole my heart. The Reaper and the Raven, both broken in their own way, but they soon realise how much they need each other.

"What would any sane girl see in a killer like
me?"

I loved the relationship between Devon and Leah May, especially how vulnerable they both were. Both characters were so likeable, despite or rather because of their flaws.

“The reaper and the raven. One can see death, and the other deals with it. They’re a perfect pair.”

This is a perfect dark read, you have no idea what you are missing. I can not wait for more of these boys, and what havoc will find them next.

"Birds weren’t meant to be caged, but this little raven seemed to like being caught by me."

Review:

The Reaper and his Raven, or Devon and Leah May have a love story that starts in an unusual way (all books I’ve read in the past, the guy was the obsessed one), but it evolves to something beautiful.
Devon was my favorite, he was known as this ruthless bad guy, but he is a sweet, nice, upstanding young man. He was always trying to protect the ones he loved from the evils of life. It was well intended and altruistic, but I think he bore more than he should. No one deserves to suffer alone. His mother should get the trophy of the most clueless character of all times. Sorry I didn’t talk much about Leah, but Devon stole the show. I can’t say she is not a determined one, keeping loving him in the shadows for so long…
The ending was the highlight of the book for me. Devon managed to surprise me and give the book a happy, well resolved ending.

*** I received an ARC of The Reaper and this is my honest opinion ***
