Luna Thorn #3

Undead Urges

Rate this book
Luna Thorn is a witch about town. She likes to fancy herself a loner, but the truth is, she has the weight of the world resting on her shoulders.
Gorgons are infiltrating Detroit, and they’ve set their sights on Luna. They want her. The question why? Luna is determined to find out. It won’t be easy.
When zombies attack the Cathedral, the building Luna and the people she cares for call home, Luna is determined to snuff out the culprit. Unfortunately for her, the only lead she has is a witch who isn’t in the mood to offer up help.
When the most powerful mage in the Midwest pops up for a visit, Luna is glad for the help. The responsibility is becoming overwhelming, though, and she’s afraid she might crack under the pressure.
As a traveler, Luna can wander through time. If only she could control her powers. It’s not as easy as she hoped, however. Instead, she keeps overshooting her mark, and the resulting chaos is not what she bargained for.
Luna wants to save the world. More than that, she wants to keep the people she loves most safe. An ancient order of monsters wants to stop her in her tracks.
It’s a fight to the finish, and when Luna delves into the history of the world she resides, she finds that some things should be left in the past. Will she have that option, though?
Luna won’t give up. Neither will the friends she’s surrounded herself with. That just might be their downfall, though.
Will she survive to find out the truth of her past? Or will she die never knowing what she was truly meant to be?

When I was a kid, I was torn between whether or not I was going to grow up and be the Incredible Hulk or Wonder Woman. I flirted with being a Jedi Knight for awhile, but I wasn't up for the intense travel associated with the gig. In my teens, I settled on being a writer -- although I had no idea the effort that would entail.
Not only am I a writer now, but I'm a writer in several different mediums. I'm a longtime newspaper reporter, an avid reader and a voracious science fiction fanatic.

What s better.than the Grimlocks, the Winters joining them.

Luna Thorn arrived in our world in a shower.of.pink sparks five years ago, she knew nothing, was like a new born baby (only in her teens) and had to learn be taught how to fit in. Ryan and Luther the two men who.found her (vampire and shifter) did this by sitting her in front of a television. Luna came of age living on the streets of Detroit and we first met her during the Death Gate books when she first met the Grimlocks (my favourite family) Luna helped them and Izzy Sage defeat the enemy trying to take over the death gates. Now Luna is the one at risk, the enemies are virgins (sea serpents) who also have plans for world dominition. Luckily Zoe Lake Winters her husband Eric and their daughter Sammie have arrived in town. They are here to prepare the way for Charlie Rhodes (who is on her way to Detroit to face her own nemesis) but Zoe always has time to fit in a fight......................

Love!

We get deeper in to the over arching plot. Zoe joins the team and the hijinks abound. I just love the characters and story. I love the crossover aspects also.

Every Book is Better Than the Last

The emotional range created early in the book had me crying then cheering. Well written and unpredictable in all the fun ways. My mind was blown with unexpected appearances.

I am so excited to watch as this and all the other stories unfold!!!

exceptionally entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series

This is an exceptionally entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Luna Thorne just appeared one day in downtown Detroit. She was found by a vampire and a wolf shifter. They took care of her and basically raised her she was a young girl. She was magical but they did not know what type. As she grew her powers grew with her. She had no memory of where she came from or who she was. As time went on she began helping the homeless and downrod. She came into the orbit of the reapers of the area. The grim locks Are a family reapers from the Detroit area. The father of the Grimm family unofficially tends to adopt strays and people he cares about. Luna is now part of his extended family. Luna along with the assistance of her friends and people at the Cathedral the home and compound she has built for themselves. As well as the grim locks and other friends Are out there every day trying to get by keep the world stable as well as saving the world from evil. Luna enemies are powerful but with the help of her friends she is keeping the city safe for most paranormal threats. Once again their enemies are active and causing issues. Read and find out what They are up to and what Luna and her friends will do to stop them. Will they be able to stop them or are the odds against them this time. If you crossover characters from other stories in this magical world may show up and surprise you. Read on and enjoy.

Zombies

With Luna and Jesse down at the fairground, relaxing; a zombie hoard rises from the river and attacks the public... outnumbered Luna whisks them towards the plane gate, and they slip inside to gather themselves, but another door is open and enquiring minds just have to take a look.

A different Detroit appears, one connected to nature but not a nature anyone wants. Chased by a deformed monster, the pair race back through the door only just escaping in time but walking back into the future. The devastion is all around, rushing to Grimlock Manor they find the whole mansion in turmoil, Jerry and Maya, both powerless, have died in the zombie attacks and the grief is eating up the whole family who also believed that Luna and Jesse were dead too...

It's time to use her traveller powers for good... can she turn back time and stop the zombie hoards before they get released on the unsuspecting? Can she track down the instigator? Can she finally discover where she came from? Luckily, she's been adopted into the Grimlock clan, who never back down in the face of adversity, and she has a snarky mage to help even the playing field... Team Luna is ready to go

Just amazing

So I have to say, right at the very beginning, traumatic, deaths, anger, and some hatred. I didn't think I could continue with that kind of trauma; then I thought, " Amanda wouldn't right a story with such sadness," so I picked it back up again, and I'm so glad I did. So many unexpected surprises, so many battles, lots of snark, lots of laughs, and of course many twists. Also, if like me, you really enjoy how characters from her other series will show up, you will not be disappointed; what a fantastic story.

Amanda M. Lee has done it again. Just like all her other book in this (and all her others) series Amanda creates a vivid world with characters that come alive and most we call in love with. Luna and Jesse are just two of those beloved characters. I am not one to put spoilers in my reviews so you'll just have to read this book for yourselves. I will tell you that this time she leaving us with a cliffhanger. Thank you Amanda for another wonderful series. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Zombies & Gorgons

Every time I pick up a book in this world I'm entertained. Luna & the Grimlocks always make me laugh out loud. With little Lily talking now the banter & sheer sass is top tier. Add in our favorite mage & it's raucous magical mystery time. I love seeing all of the different threads of this magical world weave together and this just adds more depth. Luna is getting closer to figuring out who she truly is and no zombie hordes or Gorgons will stop her.

I laughed so hard!

Literally laughed out loud, and hard, at Lily and Angelina’s interactions. 😂 Amanda Lee’s characters are so witty, funny, and snarky. I highly suggest reading all of the different series - you won’t be disappointed! Luna’s third book throws us right into the middle of things and doesn’t slow down. These characters are so real and alive in my mind, it’s like being back with family. Cannot wait for the next one!

I guess I need a break from this author's books. The stupid, stupid conversations that are totally pointless to the storyline. The impossible snark that only causes troubles and doesn't achieve anything and the circular decision making is repeated in every single book - regardless of the series. Now it seems she plans to have multiple series come together for a huge paranormal "save the world" fight. Time for a long break.

Another great story

What a great story. I absolutely love it when we get a little bit of crossover with great characters. I can’t wait until Charlie, Luna, Zoe and Harley are in the same story. This story will keep you engaged from beginning to end and it will leave you wanting to more. Great job!

Undead Urges

I really enjoy the books with all the group together.
I enjoy the story more. I guess I'm more relaxed that no one will die. That would ruin the story for me. I mean none of the good people die.
I'm glad everyone was in the book and I can't wait for the next book!

Supernatural fantasy

Luna and Jesse are trying a date on for size and it is awkward right up to the point the fair is overrun with zombies. The action is nonstop from there with Luna learning more about her traveling abilities, Zoe and family arriving to help, an old enemy to confront, a new supernatural to find and some information about the Gorgons.

A battle is coming

Someone is setting Zombies loose. Between trying to keep her people safe, Luna doesn't have time for anything else. But her attraction for Jesse is growing stronger. With the help of friends and the Grimlocks Luna will be ready for battle. No cliffhanger and a happy for now.

I enjoy this series as well as the others written by Amanda Lee. I always enjoy the crossover aspects because you never know what to expect. There is a surprise at the end regarding Luna and her past.
I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. Luna has a love brewing with Jesse and it is fun to read how Cormack freaks out over it.

Come on Amanda

Hey Amanda, if you could make some of these characters less whiny and more empowered, you’d really have a hit on your hands. Why must we continually go round and round with denial and whiny little bitches when you could have warriors? Your plots are so good and your series are so well interwoven. Stop blowing it with character weak personalities!

Cliffhanger—sort of

Well, the bad guy died at least one of them. The head bad guy, however walked away I assumed to fight another day. Like Luna’s storyline I just wish we had gotten more answers this time. Oh well.

Lots of action, plenty of snark, and a boatload of plot twists.
