The Youngbloods: Hell to Pay By Kami Garcia This was a very good conclusion to the demon family trilogy. I enjoyed the whole crazy ride. Fun and bizarre characters and unique plot. Great narration.
Third and final one in the series. Quick easy no thinking reading. Fun and entertaining family members that just can't seem to get along until they have to to survive.
The finale of the Youngbloods trilogy is easily the best of the three, as if comes at you from more characters’ perspectives and builds to a pretty hellacious showdown…pun intended.
An eternal family of demons, the Youngbloods just might be facing death square in the face; beset from both without and within, the family needs to get on the same page or their 1000 years on earth are up! More fighting, more sex, and some solid character development.
Is this a great trilogy? No. But does it progress well and end strong? Mostly. The denouement of this book was a little saccharine, but I’m glad I stuck it through to the series’ conclusion.
Although there are 3 books in this series, I would say that it really is 1 book split into three. There is only one plot throughout.
Initially, I feared it was going to be just another romance set in a fantastical world. But the second and third book surprised me. There is character growth, for multiple MCs . There is suspense and intrigue up until the end. And with so many POVs, I was impressed with how cohesive it still felt.
All in all a very surprising end of year find. A fun listen during Christmas and New years cooking.
I enjoyed this 3 book novella series from Audible. It was fun with a bit of blood and gore, a bit of spice and a bit of family drama... and lots of demon shenanigans! 😂
This is only my opinion. When there is overuse of the f word, you lose me. If you like the concept of a demon family trapped on earth, this might interest you.
Not a bad ending and some exciting demon battle scenes. I'd have to say that overall I wasn't that enamored of the romance subplot across the series. The family intrigue was the best part, although maybe not as much in book 3 compared to the previous two.
I still say that my favorite character is Katma, maybe with Aristotle coming in second.
