A hotel for first-class sex?

That's the buzz in Manhattan on Piper Devon's new upstart boutique hotel, Hush. From romantic nooks...to silky sheets...to naughty toys and videos in every room, the place positively oozes sex. And that's sending a deep shudder through the stodgy Devon hotel empire.

Devon family attorney Trace Winslow has checked in to check out Hush. He has to put a stop now to wild Piper and her sexyantics. Why, she makes Paris Hilton look positively tame! Except before long Trace is making full use of the, uh, amenities with gorgeous Piper. But are the two of them ready to hang a "do not disturb" sign on their suite--for life?

Wow! This book is definitely worthy of being in the Blaze lineup. Scorching hot with characters that set the sheets on fire.

Piper Devon, hotel heiress with an undeserved and unfortunate reputation among the tabloids, is opening a niche hotel called Hush, which features mutual pleasure and sex as it's gimmick. She's finally set and determined to do something of her own for once, but her father is fighting the taint to the Devon name, so he sends his lawyer, Trace. Piper has known Trace since she was young, and he believes the tabloid hype. He's there to tame Piper and to get her to stop the sex gimmick aspect of her hotel. Both of Trace and Piper are set in their beliefs and very little leeway is given, until Piper asks Trace for an open mind, to work with her during the day and to let her show him how the sex gimmick works at night. Trace has wanted Piper for years, so he's pretty well on board for her suggestion, but he's a bit too set in his ways to go changing his mind. But he gets to know Piper for who she is and starts to fall for her. But she'll need more than that to convince him how truly important the hotel is for her.

Piper has all the typical rich girl problems we see in these kinds of stories. Daddy didn't listen to her, the tabloids intruded on her life, she's about to be disinherited to the tune of half a billion dollars, which means she'll have to give up the Jimmy Choo shoes. There were times when I struggled to feel for her - other times I had no trouble, like when she's facing paparazzi or when she can't get Trace to just listen to her - but when she's ready to give up her dream for the inheritance, eh. I also think she kinda mixed her own messages...she's trying to convey to Trace that the theme isn't tawdry, it's intimate, but then she invites him to her room for presumably no-strings sex to convince him to change his mind (which comes a bit too close to sexual bribery perhaps). After that first night of course, it's more about the romance, but still...she was trying to change his mind through sex, which seems manipulative. Now these two have some damn sexy sex and the chemistry is undoubtedly there, but I'm not sure I felt the emotional bonding between them. Especially in light of how little Trace obviously respects Piper and her choices. I did enjoy this story on the whole, but I found Lisa's upcoming story just a bit more intriguing than Piper and Trace's. I did like the message that we have to look a little deeper than the surface to see what people really are - and that worked both ways here because Trace was more than he seemed as well. I'll stick with this series. I like this author a lot, even if I didn't love this particular installment.

A great story of what lies and trumped up reputations can do to our lives. Plus great hot sexy stories all rolled into one. 5 stars.

A fun, light read
4 stars

Hush hotel is Piper Devon's dream. An erotic retreat with wicked and sinful toys, luxury, secret nooks and silky sheets - the place is designed for sex. Too bad that her hotel magnate, billionaire father is less than impressed.

So he sends the family lawyer, Trace Winslow to try and sort things out. Trace has to put a stop to Piper's crazy ideas before the family name is dragged through the mud. But soon it's not just Piper's sexy tabloid antics that are making Trace crazy and he decides that if he's in the hotel designed for sex he really should try and beat Piper at her own game.

This was an enjoyable book and the start of a new series of books set in the delicious Hush hotel [Do Not Disturb]. Surprisingly, I really liked Piper. For someone who was essentially a spoiled little rich girl - she was a very believable and sympathetic character and someone I really started to root for. Trace was also a good character although I was a little disappointed that he was written as almost 10 years older than Piper - although that's maybe just me. I also have to say that I didn't really understand why Piper felt she had to seduce Trace to get him on her side - but I suppose that's not the point!

Being a Blaze there is obviously going to be sex in the book and although there was some - it wasn't as hot or sexy as many other Blaze books I've read. Still enjoyable though.

Overall, the story was quite fun and the hotel definitely sounds like somewhere that I'd like to visit! While maybe not being the best Blaze I've read - it certainly kept me interested and was good for a light, afternoon read. And it's definitely made me want to read the other books in the Do Not Disturb series.

Yowza! If there were warnings on books, this one would say "burning, scorching, sizzling romance ahead." And if there were comment cards to be sent to authors after you read their books, mine to Jo Leigh about HUSH would say "thank you, thank you, thank you for giving me a story with smoking characters, amusing situations, and hot, hot sex!" Just for the record, I don't always read Blaze romances, and I don't always have to have "whoa baby!" romance in a book to enjoy it. But HUSH has it, I enjoyed it, and I refuse to be ashamed!

The first in the DO NOT DISTURB continuity series, HUSH is a story filled with guilty pleasures, uninhibited desires, and the shameless desire to do whatever feels good. In other words, it's like a glass of red wine drunk in front of a roaring fire, or that entire carton of Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Monkey that you ate standing in front of the open freezer. A pure, unadulterated delight.

To the world, Piper Devon is Paris Hilton, Tara Reid, and all those other "celebrities gone crazy" young twenty-somethings that do what they want, when they want, and never worry about the consequences. Piper, the daughter of multi-billionaire Nicholas Devon, hotel magnate, displays all the qualities of a rich-girl, spoiled heiress. What no one seems to realize is that her enrollment in NYU in hotel management, followed by the opening of her very own hotel, is more than just a whim. Piper wants something new, distinctive, erotic-something that will have nothing to do with her father, his money, or his hotels.

So she opens Hush, a hotel that she has no qualms in showing off as a showcase to the young, the wealthy, the opulent, the horny. Hush oozes sex, urges its occupants to leave their inhibitions at home, and answers to your every desire. You can be, do, and have anything you want at Hush, which is Piper's plan. The only thing she didn't prepare for is how much she wants approval-from her father, for being a good businesswoman; from the media, for being something other than the spoiled little rich girl; from Trace Winslow, the man who has made it his business to stop Hush from succeeding to save the Devon family name.

Trace and Piper have a past of sorts-she wanted him, he thought she was a bratty child and turned her away. This time around, Piper plans to make it clear as day, that she's all grown-up and knows exactly what she wants-Trace in her bed every evening in the suite she calls home at Hush. When the sheets ignite and tempers flare with this couple, you won't be able to outrun the fire.

HUSH is Harlequin Blaze at its best. A new, unique story line, compelling characters, witty dialogue, and steaming sexual tension, Jo Leigh has written a winner. I can't wait to pick up THRILL ME by Isabel Sharpe, the next book in the DO NOT DISTURB series.

Thanks, Ms. Leigh, for a totally fun, exciting, and hot story!

Setting: Manhattan, New York – Hush (new boutique hotel) – it’s individually designed, luxury rooms/bathroom – roof top garden and pool – gym – salon – erotic couch lounge – 4 star restaurant… etc; Orpheus Devon hotel/corporate office;

Theme: overcoming past – to be oneself – and falling in love;

Characters:
Piper Devon: rich, spoiled… Kardasian like youth; at 17 started to attract interest of tabloids… and they exploited small faux pauxs, and dad did not listen to her protestations of innocence, and she decides to live up to the reputation she didn’t earn… so she was crazy - men, sex, drinking, wildness – the 4th photographed person… she got excellent grades in school… and when she came into her trust she decides to build a hotel for today… she knows hotels because of her father… and she uses great business sense to build and staff a hotel for the young – sensual, free, sexual (sex toys/erotica/ kuma sutra)… and dad is pissed – feeling she is disgracing him…

Trace Winslow: lawyer for dad; he took the path of least resistance and great money to work for his dad, who worked for her dad… and early on, at 17, she tried to seduce him… he said no (with difficulty), but though a sexual tension, they egg each other on… and he believes the tabloids about her, and wishes she would use her intelligence more… he also struggles with a bit of guilty over a poor choice in his early lawyer years… when a friend appealed to him for legal help, he put him off (going to Europe on business), and came home to the man’s suicide. He is sent by her father to get her to change the image of her hotel before it opens… or else to be disinherited…

Nicholas Devon: powerful, rich, controlling… expects children to do as he says, especially in business, as he has had success..

Summary:
At odds… neither listening to the other… both with preconceptions… they move toward trying to understand the other, a bit of compromise… and she offers him the delights of the hotel at night with her as enticement to stay… to get him out of her system… to try get him to see her point of view…

And bit by bit (with the backdrop the challenges of last minute steps of opening a luxury hotel), each let loose with the other… not just in bed, but with their true selves… (blue jeans and rollerblading)… and heartfelt confession on tape of how the paparazzi shaped her adulthood … and now she was using them to beef up sales…
Which leads to is conceding … to trusting… to a gentle loving between them… and his wholehearted support of her… hiring on as her legal advisor… ahhh

3.5 stars -- really enjoyed the world of the Hush hotel (had actually read later books in the series first and then convinced myself I needed to collect them all). There was a bit of frustration with the characters hanging onto their stupid misunderstandings...sometimes it gets a little tiring, kwim? That's what stopped it from being a 4 star book for me. On to Thrill Me!

I collect books with this title. It's a thing.

This story really wasn't my style. I only bought it because of the title obsession.
