I picked this book based purely off the name and I really wanted to like it. First and foremost, I don’t think I’m a fan of this author’s writing style. Everything was so matter of fact. So aloof, it made it hard to connect with the the main characters. Which brings me to my second point. It was really hard for me to connect with the characters. It felt like I was being told about something but without a lot of details or emotion and it was really hard to connect emotionally. For a romance book to be good, I need to be able to connect with it emotionally. And my last reason, for a book called pound town there wasnt any smut. I was so disappointed.
This read like a recap, or a retelling. It felt like I was reading an essay instead of a book if that makes sense. It didn’t feel like I was watching a love story unfold.
I also think this author would benefit from a beta reader cause some things didn’t fit where they put them.
Wow Kai tried it home girl had a lot of DNA done and still don't know who the daddy is she thought she was bout to inherited some money no girl go sit down somewhere amerrah mother was such a snob she needs to go find herself and her jealous ways over her own daughter I think she need some counseling or something Easton is really that dude that's exactly what amerrah needed she going all the way to the top
This was overall an okay book for me because it left important unanswered questions. Like did Amerrah meet with her mom and what were the results of the meeting? What happened with Shooter’s brother putting a price on East and Axel’s head? The chapters needed to be labeled as to who was speaking as a common courtesy to readers. Thanks for the Mobile, Alabama shout out because that’s my hometown.
I liked this book because it was mostly positive. Every now and then I like a book depicting people of colour positive without the drama. It was a short comforting read which I would recommend on a rainy afternoon for a young adult and upward. The story did not have any "spice" but sometimes you just need a good story without all that action. I personally loved it.
I liked both of couples I would like to see what happened with her best friend and Axel see how are doing
Easton knew he was feeling her from the beginning didn't waist no time falling for her and liked how she fell hard to didn't care about him being a Dope boy I'm glad he decided to leave the game
The story had potential, but it was difficult to get past the conversation type writing. The speech seemed forced and as if trying too hard. Seeing the title made me think there would be a lot of spice, and although there is spice it wasn't very descriptive or explicit as expected.
I loved Easton and Amerrah together. The book should have been a little longer to see if Axel and Willow were going to make it down the aisle as well. I'm loving this Pound Town series!
Amerrah is a breath of fresh air for Easton. She has goals and she's not looking to be kept. I loved Amerrah's dad, but her mother seemed like a hater. Willow is the perfect best friend because she's with all the shenanigans.
