Adeline Walsh, from the small town that bore her family name - Walsh - in rural Western Australia, was over her life and as she headed to Smallton in country Victoria to join the convent there, she hoped she would find her sense of self, and finally become someone she could respect. Her grandmother had recently passed away, and they had been close, but a secret she'd uncovered about the grandmother she'd adored had shattered Adeline, hence the convent calling to her. She had brought her beloved Maremma, Bella with her - the convent said she could have one dog - and not much else. No longer did she own a phone, a computer, make-up; she even got rid of her excess clothing and shoes. And she was content. Her roomie, Melissa, and the sisters were closer to her than her own family...

The day Bella escaped the convent, Adeline followed her, chasing after her and onto a long driveway, where she met Holden Campbell, a huge, tattooed scruff of a man, his brother Ford and some teenage boys. Bella was only interested in the other two dogs, which was why she'd escaped. And so began another change in Adeline's life. Working with the sisters, helping with the soup kitchen and the markets, doing what she could to help - was this what her future looked like?

Talk to the Heart is the 3rd in the Rose Hill series by Aussie author Rachael Johns and it's been three years since the 2nd, and was three years prior to that for #1. I read through my reviews to familiarise myself with the characters, and while the MCs from the first two books had small parts in Talk to the Heart, it was great to see how they'd grown. To be honest, I didn't much like either Adeline or Holden, but they were surrounded by well-crafted characters. Ford was a favourite, also Sally. An enjoyable and fast paced read, Talk to the Heart is one I recommend.

With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.

Adeline Walsh grew up on a dairy farm in the small country town of Walsh, Western Australia, Adeline thinks she’s better than everyone else until one day she discovers a long hidden family secret and it makes Adeline reconsider her standing.

Adeline decides she’s going to become a nun, she will give up her expensive clothes, breeding Maremma dogs, move to Smallton, in Victoria and start her training at The Sisters of Grace Convent. Adeline vowing to be chaste, obedient and give up all her worldly goods made me laugh and at least she's a practicing catholic and that's one thing she doesn't need to change.

Life in Smallton and the convent is nothing like Adeline expected, the other sisters are lovely, a big family, they all help each other, work together and support people in the community. For Adeline it gives her time to reflect on what she’s done in the past, she can turn over a new leaf and her sins will forgiven.

Mother Catherine kindly let's her bring her dog Bella to the convent, through one of her exploits and escapes she meets Holden Campbell, and at first Adeline can’t see past his long unkempt hair, beard and tattoos. Adeline discovers behind scruffy exterior beats a heart of gold and he and his brother Ford are foster parents to teenage boys who’ve had a tough childhood.

Adeline's had quite a lot of experience in fund raising and obtaining grants back home in Walsh and she offers to help Holden fill out applications and for a worthy project he wants to start. Adeline finds Holden attractive, she's committed to being a nun and it’s the happiest she’s ever been and she doesn't want to muck it up. Will she be able to resist temptation, Holden has made it very clear he doesn’t believe in love and being in an exclusive relationship?

I received a digital copy of Talk to the Heart by Rachael Johns from Harlequin Australia and NetGalley in exchange for an unbiased review. Wow, this was my favourite book out of the three in the Rose Hill trilogy and Ms. John’s certainly exceeded my high expectations with her latest novel.

A story that highlights some really relevant topics and brings them to your attention like, foster children and how financial support ends when they turn eighteen, youth homelessness, and families come in all shapes and sizes. You shouldn’t judge people by their appearance, especially those with body art and don't own a hairbrush.

Being a nun has changed over the years, they have fun and are part of the community. People can can change, Adeline does, she accepts she was a bully, selfish, shallow, and vain and your typical mean girl, and she's sorry for her behaviour and want's to make amends.

An emotional, uplifting, moving and hilarious narrative by Ms. Johns, I highly recommend reading all three books in the Rose Hill series, Talk of the Town, Something to Talk About and my absolute favourite Talk to the Heart and five big stars from me. Perfect for fans of The Sound of Music, heroes with a bad boy image and body art.

I was wondering how Rachael Johns was going to redeem Adeline Walsh, although she loves maremmas she was not the nicest of people, in the first two stories in this series, but woohoo Rachael Johns you have done it so well, I loved this story so much, Holden and Adeline, together, yes.

Adeline has just lost her beloved grandmother, Penelope and wants to write up an obituary to her in the Walsh Whisperer, finding her journals, she starts reading but what she finds changes everything for Adeline and she makes a decision to give up all of her worldly possesions, except Bella her beloved maremma and drive across the country and join a small convent in Smallton. Adeline feels very settled and is loving her life with the other sisters that is until Belle brings her in contact with neighbour Holden Campbell.

Holden Campbell has lived here in Smallton fostering young children with his brother Ford, a bad childhood and an accident when he was young see him have no plans to find love, his only plans are to care for the boys he has in his care now and that also includes rescue dogs who make a big difference, but when a maremma arrives with a beautiful woman following, Holden is rather shocked.

Adeline is doing what she can to become a nun and Holden bearded, tattooed and scruffy, with his opinions on religion are a very unlikely pairing but, Adeline is convinced God has his ways, will one kiss send both of them spiraling toward love or heartbreak?

This is a fabulous story, with feels of the wonderful movie, The Sound of Music, it is emotional, moving and heartwarming, the characters are wonderful, the foster boys, the dogs, I loved how both Adeline and Holden put the past behind them and moved towards the future.
I do highly recommend this one, there were tears and smiles from me while reading, it is a beautiful story, and one not to be missed.

My thanks to the publisher Harlequin AU and Netgalley for my copy to read and review.

Adeline never thought she'd give up her worldly possessions to join a convent on the other side of the country. But after discovering a shocking family secret, she feels called to a life of poverty, chastity and obedience. She finds a family in the sisters and is happy until she meets temptation in the form of Holden. Due to a devastating accident in his past, he isn't interested in a relationship or even friendship with Adeline. But he does reluctantly accept her help to organise a charity event. An accidental kiss tests both their resolves but they are determined to fight the attraction...

Honestly, I always know that I will enjoy a book from this author so it was no surprise to me that this was a lovely read. Adeline had been a not-so-nice side character in a previous novel so it was interesting to get to know her. After a discovery of a terrible family secret, Adeline panics and decides to join a convent - intriguing choice! Luckily for her, it invokes in her a great personality change and a different viewpoint on life. Unluckily for her given the rules of being a sister, she has an immediate attraction to Holden - the hot guy next door with a heart of gold in relation to fostering teenage boys who need help. What follows is a delightful read of Adeline's personal growth and Holden learning to open his heart. With plenty of heart-warming scenes, readers will enjoy this light-hearted romance.
Overall: if you enjoy rural Australian romance, you'll find this a real treat.

I'm a fan of this author, but not really the 'romance' genre, however I quite enjoyed this book. The plot was sturdy and I think strong enough that it wasn't all about the love story.
Adeline, is a young journalist who feels stuck in regional WA. She is not able to find a partner and still living on the family farm. She doesn't have a strong relationship with her parents and siblings but feels close to her paternal grandmother.
When what she sees as a strong romantic prospect turns out to be a one night stand, she is humiliated and angry. Then her grandmother passes away and she feels completely untethered. This leads Adeline to make some dramatic changes in her life that situates her in regional Victoria.
Thank you Harlequin Australia and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this digital ARC.

Talk to the Heart by Rachael Johns is a fun, really enjoyable, fast paced rural romance read and a fresh breath of air, I absolutely loved it.

The story felt so uplifting to read and I adored the subtle take on The Sound of Music, it was delightful. The story highlights homelessness, community spirit, belonging and foster children.

When Adeline’s beloved grandmother Penelope passes away she discovers Penelope’s journals and a secret so devastating it drives Adeline to join a convent, leaving behind everything but her beloved maremma (dog).

The convent warmly welcomes Adeline and its not long before the nuns become family to her and she feels she has found her place in life at last. Adeline is being her best to succeed at becoming a nun until she meets Holden and Ford who live on the neighbouring property. Can she resist a man with a hidden past who is so tempting?

There were so many laughs and then definitely some tears involved at the end of the book, such a well written and beautiful story.

I recommend you read this one, there was so much to love!

I have yet to read the first 2 books in the series but this is a book you can easily read as a stand alone.

A bike riding, lumberjack looking, Captain Von Trapp-esque foster dad and a nun/sister-to-be? Small town Sound Of Music?

That is what Rachael Johns has given us with Talk To The Heart.

Now, I will admit that I didn't think our leading lady Adeline could have been redeemed after remembering what she did in the earlier books (which you do not have to have read), however I should never question where Ms Johns takes her characters.

Holden and Adeline have sparks and attraction for days, and both have their reasons to ignore the attractions - but I am so glad they didn't.

The more I read, the more I wanted to hug Adeline (whoda thunkit?). Yes, she was an absolute beech in the earlier books, but now I know her more, I understand her. Don't condone what she did, but her personal growth and healing really shines through.

And Holden? Well,I feel that he is an absolutel delight that you need to just dive in and get to know for yourself.

Beautiful storytelling, wonderful characters, and plenty of emotions, this is a new favourite by Ms Johns for me.

Talk to the Heart is book three in the Rose Hill series by Rachael Johns. Adeline Walsh, the editor of the Walsh Gazette, wanted to write a unique piece for her beloved Grandmother. However, everything changed for her when she read her Grandmother's diary. Adeline Walsh decided to become a nun by joining the Sister of Grace community in Smallton. On arrival, her beautiful Maremma Sheepdog disappears, and she finds her at Holden Campbell's property. This encounter caused Adeline Walsh to second her decision to become a nun. The readers of Talk To The Heart will continue to follow Adeline Walsh to discover what happens.

I enjoyed reading Talk to the Heart, another fantastic book by Rachael Johns. Talk to the Heart is an excellent addition to the Rose Hill series. I had no problem engaging with the story and the characters of Talk To the Heart. I love Rachael Johns's portrayal of her characters and how they interacted with each other throughout this book. Talk To The Heart is well-written and researched by Rachael Johns. I like Rachael Johns's description of the settings of Talk To The Heart, which allowed me to imagine being part of the book's plot.

The readers of Talk to the Heart will learn about running and the importance of small community papers. Also, Talk to the Heart readers will understand the importance of dogs in helping children with trauma.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC in exchange for an honest review. I recommend this book.

I am recently new to the Rose Hill series and have completely fallen in love with all the characters bar one. You guessed it, Adeline.

I very much enjoyed getting to know the new and improved Adeline. Whilst this book was mostly set in a different town we still had glimpses of our favourite characters from the first two books.

Adeline, after discovering her grans dark secret sets off to a convent to become a sister. Enter Holden, Ford and their foster boys who Adeline’s dog Bella can’t seem to stay away from. A lot of soul searching, a bit of religion, sex, love and you have a book you can’t put down.

I thoroughly enjoyed Talk to the Heart and highly recommend it. Don’t worry if you haven’t read the first two, though I suggest you do, this can definitely be read alone.

Another easy read from Rachael Johns and it’s safe to say we know what we’re going to get….and that’s not a bad thing.
Adeline crosses the country with her dog Bella, after she discovers some distressing news in her grandmother’s journal. Everything she believed about her much loved grandmother has been turned upside down, so she crosses the country to settle in the convent in Smallton, a country town in Victoria. There she finds purpose and the nuns become family.
Meanwhile Holden and his brother Ford are running a home for boys in the foster system and it’s Holden’s dream to erect tiny houses on the property as a transition for the boys once they come of age. Unfortunately all his applications for grants keep getting knocked back.
It’s Bella that brings them together, can they work together to see Holden’s dream come to fruition?

I had a look at my previous reviews as I had forgotten the previous storylines and I see I had felt sorry for Adeline, therefore happy she comes to her own now.
I enjoyed the characters, do Nuns do Tic Tok? (I don’t know because I don’t), it was interesting to see the aspect of fostering that this book brought and also that it is important to forgive yourself.
I enjoyed this quick read, thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy to read.

Loved everything about this book. Taking an unlikable character from earlier books and turning her into the star of her own story was nothing short of brilliant. Love the Sound of Music references, the sub plots and the whole small town rural romance feel! One of your best Rachael Johns.

As soon as talk of the heart was released on NetGalley, you best believe I requested it straight away. It was like catching up with old friends reading about the families in the Walsh community and to see if Adeline Walsh had redeemed herself.

Talk of the heart was everything I was hoping for. I never was expecting to read a book about nuns and ‘nuntok’ but holy wow I devoured it. I knew how this book would wrap up but I was frantically turning pages at 1am this morning to complete. I fell in love with the characters Rachael had created and would love a spin off in future for Adeline’s mum or some of the foster boys and I really hope they isn’t the end of the Walsh family.

Rachael has once again, created a heartwarming story showcasing family, resilience and the importance of friendships and the ultimate sisterhood. Glad to hear Adeline got her happy ending.

I have yet to read the other two books in this series. However, I stumbled upon "Something to Talk About" on my Kindle and am planning on reading it soon. I have always been a fan of Rachael Jones' books, and this one did not disappoint. You can read it as a stand-alone or as part of the series, which I highly recommend.

The story has many layers, and the characters are fantastic. You will likely find a connection to at least one of them and will enjoy every word. The reference to "The Sound of Music" is well done, and the author did an excellent job of updating this classic tale.

Best redemption EVER

If you've read any of the previous Rose Hill books, you'll know that Adeline Walsh is the one character we love to hate. Bitchy, bossy and often a bully, Adeline quite likes to think that just because the township was founded by her ancestors, she has the right to lord it over everyone else.

However, like most bullies, there are underlying issues that make them act this way. In Adeline's case, a lack of emotional love and support from her parents. That's why she's closer to her grandmother, Penelope.

So, what happens when her grandmother dies and Adeline uncovers a shocking confession?

She hightails across the country to become a postulant, of course.

Smallton is exactly where Adeline needs to be and it's a perfect fit for her to re-evaluate her life. With her sisters becoming the family she's been craving and immersing herself in the wider community, Adeline's past issues are almost forgotten.

It's just a shame that she can't get one Holden Campbell out of her head ... The local tattoo artist/ foster carer will never be Adeline's type- not with his wild hair and beard and generous body art. So why is she gravitating more and more towards him, his brother, Ford, and their charges? Underneath the hard exterior, this gentle giant has a heart of gold that's been beaten- and Adeline believes that she was sent to heal him.

Yeah, 'Jack' will prove to be Adeline's biggest temptation as she looks towards her first vows...

Talk to the Heart was a pack of fun. Who knew nuns could be so up with the times? NunTok is a real phenomenon and honestly, I want to check out what's on offer on the platform. These sister's often had me chuckling with their antics.

Oh, sweet doggo Bella acting as a wing woman. Such a menance running away straight to Holden's place! I utterly adored how she was able to play a big part in this story.

Also, anyone else wants to live in a tiny home after finishing this? One of these would be perfect for my stage of life.

Another brilliant read from one of my favourite authors!

Thank you Netgalley, Harlequin Aus, and of course, Rachael Johns, for granting me access an advanced reader copy of this brand new book - released just yesterday.

Easy and enjoyable, ‘Talk to the Heart’ turned out to be a great title for me to pick up in a not so great week!

The story follows Adeline, who, prompted by a startling family secret, embarks on a life-altering journey to join a convent on the other side of the country. She wasn’t sure how she’d go, giving up certain things she had cherished so much over the years, but along the way, with the help of her dog, she finds new friends, new hobbies, and most importantly, a renewed sense of happiness.

However, the vow of celibacy in the convent presents a quite the dilemma when she finds herself developing feelings for the honorable man down the road. Although Holden’s feelings are mutual, there’s considerable concerns for him as well, as being a foster parent to teenage boys, he’s not ready for any sort of relationship either.

The question looms: will they choose the sparks of romance, or the causes so dear to their hearts?

I knew I’d like this, because I’ve loved every other book by Rachael that I have so far read, and ‘Talk to the Heart’ did not disappoint. It’s a heartwarming rural romance set in the Australian countryside, and it’s sure to evoke both laughter and smiles. Even if you haven't read the first two titles in the series, this book stands on its own - and I recommend it!

Aussie rural romance just hits you right in the feels, and Rachael Johns is the queen of it.

Adeline is escaping her past, and running right into the safety of the nuns. That’s right, she’s off to join the convent and rediscover herself, letting go of her past. All sounds easy enough, that’s until foster caring, all round good guy Holden, makes his way into her life and right into her heart. (And into other things if you catch my drift. 🤣)

Adeline Walsh was definitely NOT a favourite character of mine in the first two books of Rose Hill, but this one was all about that redemption.

Honestly, this book is full of heart, a smidge of humour and bunch of swoon worthy romance. (Let’s also not forget puppies, it has lot’s of puppies!!)

I really loved getting some insight into the lives of our fave main characters from book one and two, and the overall conclusion for the mystery of Eliza. Adelaide’s revelation must’ve be hard to swallow, but it did add a little extra something to the story!

You don’t have to have read the first two books to enjoy this one for what it is, but it wouldn’t hurt to just read them all anyway, and have a bloody good time doing it. 😏

OUT NOW.

Get The Sound of Music crossed with rural romance, and you've won me already. Add in the fact Rachael Johns wrote it, and it's like I won the lotto! Or at least beat the nuns in a tractor pull competition.

Talk to the Heart has all the feels, and then some. If you've read Talk of the Town and Something to Talk About, you'll already know a little about our main character Adeline... and probably hate her. But all is forgiven when you read on. There's a lot of soul searching, a bit of nun-tok, cute puppes and Holden... what more can i say. A heavenly five stars from me.

And if you haven't read those other books in the series, you don't need to, to enjoy this book, but they are fabulous too, so I highly recommend.

Review summary: Rachael Johns has done it again – a heartwarming tale that is sure to exceed expectations. Number 3 in the Rose Hill series transforms an easy to dislike character into a charming protagonist.

Star rating: 4/5

Thank you to NetGallery and Harlequinn Australia for the opportunity to review this book. Talk to the Heart will be available for purchase from 1 November 2023.

The announcement of a third book in the Rose Hill series by Rachael Johns sent me into excitement. However, I was slightly cautious when Adeline was announced as the protagonist. If you’ve read the two other books in the series (and I recommend you do – it enriches this book but they’re excellent novels), you may have similar opinions to me. Adeline is unlikeable and will likely remind you of someone you went to high school with that didn’t exactly make you want to stay in touch after graduation.

As a fan of Rachael Johns’ writing and enjoying the continuation of this series, I was eager to read this book as quickly as possible. Although set in a new town, the linkages to the first two books in the series enhanced the references to plotlines in previous novels – enhanced context and richness to the story (and the storylines of the previous books, particularly if you like to reread series).

My hesitation, apprehensive and annoyance about Adeline as the star of this book was quickly forgotten as I began the novel. The writing, storylines (and wow – the multiple interesting storylines – this book just kept giving) and characters meant I couldn’t put this [electronic] book down. This is interesting, as I was worried my preconceptions and thoughts about previous storylines about Adeline would put me off. But, if anything I wanted to read more and I very quickly was positioned to be in Adeline’s corner, without forgiving her past transgressions. The storyline from her gran very quickly pivoted me to sympathise and want to read about Adeline – this was a great choice by Johns, particularly to neutralise any reader with a dislike or bias towards Adeline.

Adeline’s development alongside the discussions of religion, faith and purpose, as well as family and past mistakes, were all interwoven into various subplot lines that were just as engrossing. This was a multi-layered book with lots to take from it – and I’m sure if you read this book a few times you will take different things on each read. You just want to keep reading – and it all starts with Gran. It’s interesting that although the characters were well developed, I initially felt that the storylines were pushing and driving the novel forward.

In less than a day I started and finished this book because I had to know how it ended and the writing was so enthralling, I couldn’t put it down. It also made me realise that there is something ordinarily relatable about Adeleine Walsh, we’ve all been the Adelina at some point in time – not quite fitting in but desperately wanting to.

With the Bunyip Bay series getting another book in the series in early 2024, it’s a great time to be a Rachael Johns fan. Beyond this, fans of chick list and broader rural romance will enjoy this fun novel with unique storylines. A must-read novel and the series will make a perfect Christmas gift!

Will there be more in the Rose Hill series? I hope so. I need more of Ford, the boys, the sisters and all that Smallton has to offer. The last few chapters leave me wanting more, and I hope Johns explores these developments as standalone stories.

Not going to lie…I put reading this one off for sooo long because I wasn’t sure on the whole ‘nun/convent’ part of this book 😕 But it turned out to be a fun read that I devoured in a day!

It’s the third book in the Rose Hill series (but is a fab standalone alone so don’t feel you need to have read the prior two books) and centers around Adeline Walsh and Holden Campbell in a small rural town near Colac called Smalltown.

Adeline joins a convent after the discovery of a shocking family secret and finds that life at the Smallton convent is nothing like she expected. The other sisters quickly become like family and Adeline feels like she’s found her place in life…until she meets Holden Campbell, a man far more tempting than she anticipated.

Holden is not interested in any relationship or even a friendship with Adeline, but in order to provide a safe haven for his foster boys to transition out of the foster system, he reluctantly accepts her help to organise a charity event.

I’m a fan of Rachael Johns writing style and this one did not disappoint! It was quite an emotional read…I giggled, was heartbroken, worried and happy all in one reading it and loved the highlight around the foster system.

Ok well, Rachael is one of the BEST authors out there, and boy did she bring it in Talk to the Heart. I LOVED IT!!!!

I had to read this as I loved the first book that ties to this one, Something to talk about. We finally get Adeline's story.

I loved the flow of the story and where it went and how it went down. A few surprises along the way. I really loved Holden and Ford, and I hope Ford will have his own book....HINT HINT!

The twist in the story I was even like WHOA! such a great twist, and didn't see it coming!

OMG! I loved where Adeline was questioning the name of the boys, Holden and Ford. I was reading at work and was dying laughing. Too funny! LOL!!!

I also love insta attraction books, and this was right there with that!! They both tried to push it away cause due to why Adeline was there. But how long can they hold out??

Loved when Holden was talking about spreadsheets "I'd rather tattoo my own eyeball than do a spreadsheet." Me too Holden, Me too!

One of my fave scenes in the whole book was when Holden walked Adeline to the end of the drive. OMG! LOVED IT!!

And lastly, loved the reference to Farmer wants a wife! Love that show!!

Can i give more than 5 stars?
This book is definitely Rachael Johns best Koalaing book ever and one of my favourite books from this year. Got a bit teary eyed there in the end because I honestly didn’t want to leave Smallton.

Talk To The Heart is the third book in Rachael Johns Rose Hill series and I absolutely adored this book. The premise of the story is based on main character Adeline, who has had no luck in past relationships with men and has been an unlikable person in the past. After her grandmother dies with whom she was close to, she reads her journals and discovers a family secret. This sets her off on a path of redemption and trying to rediscover and improve herself, and she devote her life to God by joining a convent and becomes a sister or nun in training. She is quite happy in her new community and content with the journey she is heading or is she? Enter Holden, a man with tattoos and a motorbike who is a foster carer to teenagers. After meeting Holden and working with him on local charity event, Adeline falls head over heels in love with Holden, and this threatens her newfound life of devotion to the Lord.

A Rachael Johns book is always a treat, with quality writing that includes such enjoyable characters and storylines. This book was no different to her previous books. There is some heartfelt highs and lows and we go through the many emotions with these characters, but by the end, both characters have seemingly ‘redeemed’ themselves and reconciled with their ‘troubled’ pasts. Such an engaging story, especially the ‘Nun’ angle, it was original and I loved it. I did not want to stop reading this story of Adeline and Holden.

I give this books, 5 stars. Thank you to Harper Collins and Netgalley for a digital copy to review.

I loved, loved, loved Talk To The Heart! In this book, Rachael Johns has turned Adeline Walsh, a less-than-appealing character in the first two Rose Hill books, into a person I had no problem empathising with. Not only that but in this book, Adeline is genuinely nice, most of the time, anyway.
While The Sound of Music is clearly the kernel from which this story grew, it still takes some skill to develop a character who starts out just plain self-important, reinvents themselves as a nun in training and subsequently falls for just about the most unlikely hero ever. Holden Campbell is a fabulous hero, and not just in the male romantic lead sense of the word. Holden had a horrible upbringing and has used that as his motivation for becoming a foster carer for at risk teens. Tattooed and sporting a mighty beard, it’s obvious that he’s not Adeline’s first choice of love interest when they first meet. I loved watching him push her buttons as their relationship developed. These two are supported by wonderful secondary characters, both within the convent, where the sisters are an absolute hoot, and among the foster boys living with Holden and his brother Ford. This story runs the gamut of emotions from humour, of which there is heaps, to sadness, guilt and loss. I could tell that Rachael Johns had a lot of fun writing the book and I had a lot of fun reading it. Highly recommended!

This book had me intrigued before I even started reading it, how will Rachael write about such a seemingly complex issue? Will the storyline be believable, how does religion blend with romance and then there’s the disliked main character!
I was not disappointed and neither will anyone who reads this amazing novel.
Adeline has her beloved grandmother on a pedestal, her passing reveals a secret that shatters Adeline’s beliefs and sense of reality.
Adeline turns to a life of religious commitment, her dog Bella leads her, not only to a convent, but to a hunky neighbour!
The storyline describes Adeline’s journey perfectly, she feels at home with the nuns, renewing her sense of purpose and belonging.
The characters are diverse but also extremely likeable. Hunky neighbour Holden and his brother Ford have devoted their lives to helping disadvantaged children, this is how Adeline is drawn into their world.
This story is a gem, no doubt, there’s a lot going on within these pages!

Sincere thanks and appreciation to Harlequin Australia, NetGalley and our wonderfully talented Rachael Johns for the opportunity to read and review this amazing book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
