A missing sister, a man on a mission, and a gifted visionary running from her purpose.
Jamie Rox is hiking the Wild Coast when a freak high tide separates her from the group. Forced to wait until the tide changes, she takes shelter in a cave only to find it awakens the dreams and visions that caused heartbreak for her as a child.
Lucas Bridger is a city-boy, way out of his depth in the wild, but desperate to find his sister—a missionary whose last contact with home was too long ago. Armed with only a few clues and gritty determination, he starts digging for answers. Each fact takes him closer to the truth, and deeper into danger.
Jamie resists getting involved, but finds herself being drawn deeper into a web of intrigue festering in secret wickedness that reaches deep into the heart of South Africa. In a breathless race against time and an unseen enemy, Jamie has to embrace that which shredded her, or risk losing it all.
Dianne J. Wilson writes across genres including YA Fantasy and Romantic Suspense. Weaving Invisible into words, she explores spiritual truth woven through ordinary life with equal dashes of breathless adventure and tongue-in-cheek humor, all soaked in God's Grace. She writes in stolen moments, usually in the back seat of her tiny car.
Her home is in Makhanda, a South African university town, where she lives with her hubby and three daughters who all take turns at being home. Her love-language is tea and taking long drives to listen to new songs with her girls. When she’s not stuck in her car writing, you can find her feeding all the hungry people in her house who gaze at her expectantly around mealtimes.
Not an easy book to review. Ms Wilson draws her readers into her book from the first chapter, maintaining interest as her intricate plot is unravelled. The storyline is fast-moving, although at times a bit too unrealistic, especially towards the end. Lucas’ ultimate conversion is a particularly well-written scene, which remedied the island events for me. Ethical hacker and IT mastermind, Lucas and adventure guide, Jamie meet under less than ideal circumstances, neither acknowledging their suspicions of their early childhood connection, as they combine their skills to search for Lucas’ sister, Camilla, whose last-known whereabouts are as a member of a Christian mission group. The plot is full of unexpected twists as mystical and deviant events confuse their quest. A substantively increasing cast of characters, includes a subversive group identifying, controlling and ‘neutralizing’ Christians until they reject their faith. Their ultimate aim was a bit unclear to this reader, however. This is my honest opinion of a review copy sent to me by the author.
This captivating book weaves together an intricate tapestry of genres, seamlessly blending adventure, romance, mystery, and spine-tingling suspense. Readers are drawn into a narrative rich with unexpected plot twists and surprising revelations that keep them eagerly turning pages. The story's dynamic landscape offers a thrilling journey through multiple emotional and dramatic dimensions, promising an immersive reading experience that challenges expectations and keeps audiences on the edge of their seats.
I was gripped by this story from the very first page! Full of twists and unexpected turns, this is a must for all lovers of suspense.
With a faith element essential to the plot, this is more than a token Christian fiction read. Coupled with the mystical experience of the MMC, the story is elevated from the thrilling to the wonderful.
This is Lucas and Jamie’s story. And a strange way to find the light of god.
Lucas and Jamie are old friends just refinding themselves. Its a long trail and involves lots of others and has the hand of god leading the way. Not that they know that. They think they are abandoned and have bad guys taking god out of the world. This was a great read and made me glow at the end
Not my usual genre, but I was captured early on. Dreams were a bit weird but thats dreams for ya. Story had lots of twists and turns with purpose of having reader examine their own connection with heavenly parent. Hopefully readers can be reconciled to their sincere faith
This book is refreshing, uplifting, and unexpected. In this day and time, we need reminders of who we can count on. God is in charge! This book is both entertaining and inspiring.
