I’m Sarah, a romantasy author who spends way too much time among crystals, plants, and various forms of wildlife.

I was born and raised in a hippie surfer town in California before running away to New Orleans to read literature with the local vampires.

After a hurricane and a degree, I found myself wandering around Los Angeles, dreaming of becoming a novelist in a script writer world.

The heat was a tad too much, so I moved across the pond to pursue an MA in English Language and Linguistics in London, focusing on practical applications of linguistic theories on fiction.

Now I’m writing from my lake-adjacent cottage in the Netherlands, with my husband and two children cheering me on.

Loved Daff’s POV 🤘🏻

The final book in Sarah Long’s Becoming Light series, was a bittersweet ending to a story I didn’t want to leave. I wasn’t happy with how it started, particularly the (spoiler: time jump and the shift in characters), but in the end, the payoff was worth it, and the resolution was exactly what I’d hoped for.

What surprised me most was (spoiler: how Sarah Long completely changed my feelings about Morgana. She went from being the villain I loved to hate to someone I could actually root for. As someone who loves when a villain’s arc is reversed). I was thrilled with this unexpected twist. I also appreciated how the Annunaki were given so much more depth, adding layers to their story that made them even more compelling.

The theme of family and belonging was lovely to behold, and I adored the dynamic the townsfolk brought to the story. Their human drama added a grounded, relatable element to a world that is otherwise so otherworldly.

Saying goodbye to these beloved characters was hard, but Sarah Long delivered a beautiful conclusion that tied everything together perfectly. While I’m sad to let this series go, I’m so glad to have been part of this incredible journey.
