Realistic and Scary

The couple in this story went through hell, which showed what they were made of. Sadly, what they endured could happen to anyone. The writing drew me in, and I couldn’t stop thinking of what would happen next. Takeaways: those greedy for money will do whatever to get it. When you have God’s protection, your enemy will always fall in the ditches they created for you.

Unbelievable

I liked everything about the story. The characters kept you on your toes. That landlord was a true nut job. I liked the fact that from beginning to end, it held my interest. I read that book in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. If you're looking for a book that holds your interest, this is it. Twists and turns in it. Tanisha still hasn't disappointed me with what she writes. Keep that momentum going. Waiting on the next book.

I’ve been waiting on this read to come out and wasn’t disappointed! It started off a little slow but soon got down to the meat and potatoes! I don’t want to spoil it but you will enjoy once you do read it!

It's always a hater lurking

I knew Jethro was a creep from the first time he was introduced. And Imani's mom was just doing to much.

I am trying HARD not to provide spoilers, but this book was solid for me! I loved the fact that it threw me for a loop (some things I thought would transpire never did).

I will say that this book is a prime example of what happens in relationships when the couple does not speak to each other! When I say that I wanted to shake some sense into them, I mean that to the fullest! I was continuously yelling at the book, “Talk to your hubby, Imani!” “Tell your wife how you feel, Isaiah!” They got on my last nerves with their lack of communication and assumptions! Let this be a lesson to those in relationships or those entering one, 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐈𝐒 𝐊𝐄𝐘!!! Now don’t get me wrong, I know your boy Jethro was a hot mess and his daughter wasn’t far off, but so many stressful moments could have been avoided if Isaiah and Imani just talked to one another at least SOME of the time. Sheesh!!!!

I LOVED the spiritual aspect of the book and how they both really wanted didn’t want to end it all. They wanted to work it out and Isaiah’s prayer gave him so real cool points with me.

Imani’s mom though…6 feet ma’am! She was worsesome! I applauded Imani at the end of that situation.

𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐋𝐋: I am definitely a fan of Tanisha Stewart and am actually pissed I didn’t realize there was a 1st to this series that I overlooked (it’s now on my list - of course). I liked the characters of this one, and I truly loved that I couldn’t just guess the plot. I highly recommend this book!

"A Praying Husband vs A Preying Man" by Tanisha Stewart

My Thoughts:

This story featured Imani and Isaiah, who were married and very much in love until they moved into a place that caused a lot of mess from the owner, Jethro. What was wrong with this owner? We soon find out he was greedy when it came to money and would do anything to get it. During the read, we see how this couple, Imani and Isaiah, had a big problem: communication. If they had been able to listen to one another, things may have gone differently for them. How Isaiah seemed unable to trust his wife made me shake my head at his stupidity, and for much of the story, even Imani didn't use good sense either by not telling her husband what was going on...not even her best friend, Rosie. Like I said...COMMUNICATION was their problem.

This author gives the reader an idea of how prayer can change things. If you are looking for an excellent psychological thriller, you have come to a good read of how this plot has such twists and turns...you will have to keep up. But by the end, the story comes together so well, giving the reader a good read.

I finished this book during a road trip, and I was hooked the entire time. There wasn’t one dull moment—every chapter drew me in deeper. The twists and turns in the story were unexpected, and the overall message was powerful. It really drives home how the love of money can lead to all kinds of evil.

That said, as a Christian reader, I did find some of the sexual content to be a bit much for a book labeled as Christian fiction. It felt more like a nominal Christian approach at times. While the Christian elements were still appreciated and meaningful, some scenes could definitely be triggering for believers who struggle with lust—I even had to skip a few pages myself.

Overall, it’s a gripping and impactful story with a strong message about spiritual discernment and the difference between a man who prays and a man who preys. Just be aware that it’s a bit edgier than your typical Christian read.

Praying or Preying

This was a fast paced story about a couple struggling to maintain their loving connection through a series of difficulties.
Their failure to communicate was the biggest issue. There also was Isaiah's refusal to get therapy to help deal with his feelings after his accident. Add to that a creepy, intrusive landlord and Imani and Isaiah are hanging by a thread.
I loved the fast pace and the short chapters from scene to scene reminded me of a thriller movie.
This was a great read that kept me on the edge of my seat, especially in the last half of this book. I refused to read this as soon as it was released, (even though I had it on my calndar-lol), because I knew I would read it too fast and get mad that it ended!

Stacey who is Jethro wife was following Imani around . So she cornered her and she tell Imani about his estranged husband who kill his son and rob people of their insurance check, and how his daughter joined him. Jethro lock up Stacey and Imani in a shed . When they arrived at the shed Jethro brother was locked up in the shed for a year. Jethro love money which is not his . Lovely read.

when Folks get money hungry they do anything

The story of Imani and Isaiah, a couple facing numerous challenges in their marriage. They were seeking independence and decided to move into a new place, but little did they know that their relationship would be tested on so many levels. Despite facing multiple obstacles and setbacks, they didn't give up on each other and managed to come out even stronger. Through this book, Tanisha beautifully highlights how external factors and influences can impact one's life, even when they're uninvited.

It was good

I enjoyed this book a lot. At first, I thought is was going to be like A Praying Wife because it started that way, but with minor changes. I’m glad I continued reading because I was pleasantly surprised (and shocked!) The only thing that prevented me from giving this five stars was the back-and-forth between Imani and Isaiah was dragged out too long. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

Started off slow. This is the first book I’ve read via Kindle in awhile. I liked how relatable Isaiah and Imani are. Their issues were realistic. I was drawn to the story, but let down by the climax and ending. They fought through their insecurities and ended up ‘happily ever after’ with Isaiah’s settlement money from his accident.

Praying Husband

Loved the story. Started slow but kept you interested in reading on. Background on all the characters was excellent. God being a part of many of the characters was shown in the different beliefs of each one. Faith kept them in the end . 📓Excellent reading.🌹
