She wants Paris. He wants her. But someone else wants to rule Rosemary Mountain, and will stop at nothing to take it…
All Janet Sullivan has to do is get through her daughter’s wedding without falling apart. Then she can break the news that she’s moving overseas—permanently—for a fresh start of her own. But when someone threatens them all, Janet is forced to spend the week with the one person she wants most to avoid—Greg Morrison, the only man who could tempt her to change her plans.
Sheriff Greg Morrison has a town to protect, and the last thing he needs is to babysit a woman who already let him know her future plans would never include him. But when the threats turn deadly, he’ll make it his mission to protect her—and try to convince her to stay at the same time.
Mystery + Romantic Suspense author. Writer of quaint towns with cozy vibes, romantic suspense, and plot twists you'll never see coming. Nicole lives in Arkansas with her husband, sons, and two dogs. If she’s not at her desk writing, you’ll probably find her in the garden or creating teas and tinctures in her kitchen.
This romantic suspense has some great twists and turns which kept me turning the pages to find out who was threatening everyone in Rosemary Mountain. I was genuinely surprised to learn who was responsible for the escalating threats!
Nicole Gardner has an amazing writing style that draws you in and keeps your attention for the whole story. I admit I have read all four of her books. I think it helps to have read the other stories but don't think that it is required to read the trilogy before reading this one. I think it could stand on it's own. This book took a slight turn from the trilogy since Daphne is not the main character. I love the surprise character that appeared in this book and thought it was genius in how the name unfolded with the angle the author used. I am being vague as I don't want to give anything away in this review. I highly recommend this book. It was a great read with a great feel good ending. I can't wait to read more from this author!
This spinoff book is a treat! After reading Nicole Gardner’s Rosemary Mountain Mystery trilogy, I didn’t realize how much I needed to know Janet’s story — and how much I would feel connected to her.
There’s romance and of course a mystery, but this book also kept me glued to the story because of how Janet’s past is so relatable to women, no matter how different the relationship dynamics are. Janet is unique, and Nicole Gardner captures in her a truth that so many women feel. I was not expecting to be so seen as I read about Janet’s growth, and I came from it feeling loved.
I love the Rosemary Mountain series and to have an extension of that was amazing! I already enjoyed Janet and Greg's relationship in previous books so it was nice to delve into their pasts and watch their relationship grow. I love how their story gave hope that you can find love after being in a loveless relationship. Rosemary Mountain is such a picturesque little town and gives me Virgin River vibes. This book is more than a traditional love story and has a good mystery that will keep you turning the pages far too late at night!
For the most part I enjoyed this romantic suspense novel. At the beginning I felt there must have been a previous book in the series and the author didn't fill in the details until fairly far into the story. As this is listed as book 1 in a series, perhaps it is an offshoot from another series, but I don't know for sure.
I enjoyed how the romance developed and that sexual scenes were alluded to rather than dwell on. I was surprised by who was behind all the bad things that were happening. I would read more by this author.
This was a romantic mystery suspense set in a small town of Rosemary Mountain. It was book one in the series however it is a spin off of a previous series (I did not read it) so there are a few references that are not explained or alluded to something that had happened in the town. I enjoyed the writing and the characters. I didn’t put together the guilty party before we get to it in the story. She did a good job of keeping me guessing on who could have done it. This is an innocent romance with no spice.
Nicole Gardner does it again! This continuation of the Rosemary Mountain series included a much awaited romance with all the twists and turns...Does he get the girl? Does she let go and allow herself to be loved or, does she run like she's use to doing? Only one way to find out!
The author ties the characters together through community, family, friendships, enemies, etc. in such a way that each character is relatable, and she manages to surprise us in each new book.
I absolutely loved this book! It was suspenseful, mysterious, and romantic. The back and forth between Janet and Greg was starting to get to me, I was thinking the story needed to move on, and then move on it did! The ending was suspenseful! Never saw that ending coming! I don’t want to say too much more for fear of giving it away. You won’t be disappointed in this novel! Highly recommend it!
I read this book in one day!! It totally draws you in, right from the beginning. Thought I had figured out the culprit, but boy was I wrong! It's the first book in the series and I don't know how many there are, but I do know I'm headed over Kindle Unlimited to get #2 right now.
This one has to be my favorite of the spin off books from the rosemary mountain series. I only thought Emerson was my favorite character, but after this book it is Greg hands down! I could not put this down because of the tension that was building through the book!
What a beautifully written love story. Daphne and Emerson and Greg and Janet. A lot of action and a surprising twist with the criminal. I can usually figure out the criminal but this time it surprised me.
Set aside a big chunk of time to read this book because you be sucked into the story! Well-developed characters, interesting plot. Makes you want to visit Rosemary Mountain. Looking forward to future books.
This book could have been sooooo much better. I gave it 3 stars based on writing style and less than 5 typos. There were references to things that were never explained; stories she assumed we already knew, acronyms she assumed we knew.
Her daughter Daphne is getting married, so she's in town for the festivities. She'd met the handsome sheriff before and had Bern attracted to him. Now a dangerous situation throws them together.
3.5 stars 🤩🤩🤩 I did enjoy this story. It was a light read. Quick and short chapters. To the point without much fluff. Just a quick, light read without much depth but sometimes those are nice to read too.
I truly enjoyed reading this book. Janet and Greg are a great couple. It is nice to see a story with heroes and heroines not always being twenty something’s. The mystery was just out of my reach so I truly was surprised. I may have to get the whole collection.
As a very slow reader, this is probably one of the quickest times I’ve ever finished a book, it was that good! I was highly invested and anticipating Janet and Greg’s relationship throughout the book, and the ending did not disappoint. Bonus was how great the author is with building up tension between the two characters 🥵 Five stars!
