After a bitter betrayal, he refuses to trust hunters, but a certain huntress catches his eye . . .
Greg Claw’s bonded mate did the unthinkable, conspiring against him and his family during their time together, so she is punished with death.
Now he knows never to trust a hunter.
This includes the newly appointed chief octopus, Sushmita. But the more he’s around her, the more intrigued he becomes. The longer they work together, the more he can’t deny the connection growing between them. It’s not a bond, but there’s certainly something.
Sushmita has her own secrets and motives for everything she does, and choosing this profession is no exception . . .
Never one to choose her heart over her mind, Sush is never where she is by accident, and right now, she’s determined to see through her venture regardless of how much she has to give up and who she has to leave behind. The presence of a brooding lycan duke won’t make a difference—or at least it shouldn’t .
But with threats pressing in close, danger lurking in the shadows, and things not appearing as they seem, Greg and Sushmita will have to face the choice between giving in and letting go, or risk losing it all. [This book contains mature themes. Reader discretion is advised.]
When Stina is not writing, she can be found reading anything that piques her interest, accidentally buying books on accidental visits to bookstores despite the shelves of unread novels at home. Always a daydreamer, she often fantasizes about what could unravel if something that didn’t happen happened. She is also prone to buying stickers and washi tapes (by complete accident) and then wondering what to do with them.
With a goal of inspiring others and hoping they draw strength from her characters, she wishes to write in a way that makes everyone’s days a little brighter, that allows them to appreciate who they are and fall in love with the magic they add into the world.
I love seeing the venerable side Greg and how he has changed and the love he has, and i really want to punch 👊 him in the frist book and in the second book I was like ok he can an ok person but now I have a soft spot for him
I got all 3 of my books from Amazon I did read them all on alphanovel befor but loved the frist one so much I had to have a book copy and they had a deal on all three now it's one of my favourite series I can't wait for book 4
Well finished this today and can’t start to read book 4 but had to leave a quick review. Yes this book was as good as the other 2 in this series and was maybe even my favorite. I’m a sucker for a bad boy so I’ve liked Greg since he fell for the Lucy in book 1. It was great to see him get his own story.
This book takes place about 3 years after book 2 & focuses on Greg and Sush who is a human hunter. The hunters are humans with special skills and serve as part of the humans defense. As book 2 ended with a surprising scene between him and Enora, Lucy’s daughter, it was really wonderful to watch their relationship here.
Some of my favorite moments in the book involve the Odem Forest and Christian and Annie’s son Lewis. There were a lot of twists in this book especially during the big fight scene towards the end. And that’s not a spoiler because just knowing they’re coming, you’ll never figure them out.

I have read all 3 of these books this month. I am in love. I can’t wait for the next book. I totally binged read these. Amazing characters, plots, and endings. Love, love, them so good! Thank you for writing them. I especially loved how each character grows into something special finally embraces who they are and can be. Just wonderful. I came upon them on Facebook thank goodness I love a good read yet once I read one I couldn’t stop. I haven’t had time all year to read because of my classes but when I was done I decided I wanted to pick a good book and yours is what I found and I am so glad I did, thank you!
When I first meet Greg in the first book, I knew he was not trustworthy. However, times change and so does Greg. The Hardened Duke lives up to his name and when he meets the Indomitable Huntress, his whole world outlook is flipped over and watching these characters grow and develop were awesome! I didn't think I'd like this one as much as I did, but I freaking loved it!
It helps that the main male character of this “Book 3” has already been well developed in the previous two books of this series by the author. Also, many of the characters from the previous two books in the series, are written in effectively as background characters who are briefly developed further which deepens the overall tying together of the whole storyline.
This is the third book by this author I've read and I absolutely loved it. I loved the storyline, the world building and the very different characters, especially the strong female ones. Now we know three of five important people, but we don't know yet what they're important for. I'm eager to meet the witch and the mermaid. I can't wait to read the next one.
Really enjoyed this. This one was slower to start than the others and the change from first to second person had me a little wobbly but mannnn did it pick up pace. Love a bit of a slow burn. I'm so excited 4th. Greg and Sush are so cute. Glad Greg could get his limelight 🥰
I bought this series from Amazon I can hardly wait for the last 2 books. I read all types of genre. I do not like reading series, but I will say this series is an exception I started this blog l book yesterday and finished it today. I think everyone should read Stinas books.
I do tend to go for the good bad guy but how this book made me want the Duke as well is beyond me. I’m glad we have opportunity to explore the other characters too in this series. I’m interested to see how all these things are connected in the next few books.
Just can't get enough of her writing style! I love that this author thinks of the least like character in the story (not by everyone i happen to love this Greg one of my faves he's hilarious!) And gives him such a great story!!!
The author Stina Pen: strange name but the books have been simply awesome.. held my interest again . Couldn't wait to finish it.. I haven't been disappointed yet.. and to read four books by one author.. AMAZING...
Read via Passion: Reading App x Really enjoyed this series I think having to unlock the chapters each day made everything more suspenseful which resulted in me enjoying the series more xxxx
I read this book in one day! I could not put it down. Can Greg be redeemed? We started to see some changes in earlier books, but this is Greg's book and it is glorious! I am so glad that not everything changes for Greg. He still has disdain for the Blackfur’s even as he grows to love them. He still thinks Xander is an idiot, even as he becomes part of the family. Sush is the best type of heroine. She is strong, smart, opinionated, and respected. She fits with the previous heroines of this series as being a kick ass woman. I love it! Enora and Lewis are absolutely special! I love how much Enora loves weapons and how crafty she is at ages 4 and 5.
At the end, the author’s note says the rest of the books will be when the children are older. I really hope that the special beings of the 5 continue to be women as they were portrayed in the magical river. Women will save the world.
