Do you know those memes that show social media versus reality? My meme included two soon-to-be dads and two moms of a twelve-year-old, one pregnant with twins through surrogacy. Imagine this picture of two families smiling, the grass is green and the sky is blue. On the other side is reality. A story that started as a perfect, heartwarming movie but quickly turned into a drama. A story of how the authorI learned to say "No" the hard way. A story sadly filled with drama, hurt, pain, and the challenging side of surrogacy. A story that is common, but untold. Surrogacy is supposed to be a great experience where one party is able to provide another with a family.
When ChristelI agreed to become a surrogate, sheI believed sheI was strong, healthy, and in a good mental place. Never in a million years did Christel I never anticipated the challenges she would face, nor could and she couldn't fathom the long term repercussions. what it would feel like to go through those experiences. Little did I know, that Ththe The pain sheI would face after giving birth would be unimaginable. As the baby lay on hermy stomach in a crowded room, sheI realized sheI was no longer the same person. In that moment, everything changed.
Contained in these pages is the author's personal experience of the trauma she experienced through surrogacy and how she was able to heal by sharing her story, detail by detail.

Eeeek I have been WAITING FOR THIS BOOK! I have been following Christel (the author) on Tiktok for a while now and have been listening to her story through her videos. Reading this book was the bow that tied it all together. This book/real life story is like getting to hear the neighborhood gossip, and the author, the victim is your friend and you just feel for them the entire time. To all my good reads friends, I urge you to read this book and then go watch Christels tiktoks.

I cannot believe a person could treat someone this way who is giving them the most precious gift in the world. Christel you are an amazing woman who deserves a much better experience.

What a story! I followed Christel on tik tok as she would share bits and pieces of her story, but to read the depths of the trauma she endured had me in tears. I doubt she'll ever see my review however if you do, you are strong, brave and mostly you are a warrior! Jen deserves an award for all she did for you. Wish you all the best in your healing journey.

I've been waiting for this book since finding Christel on TikTok as she was sharing her story piece by piece. It's heartbreaking to read about the absolute abuse she went through while giving a man a baby. A well written account of the other side of surrogacy.

I followed this author on TikTok prior to her book release. As reading the book you feel as if you are there as her best friend hearing every aspect to her story. At times I was mad with her, sad and in disbelief. Highly recommend!!!
