Can hate ever turn into love? Carmelo Castillo-Luna and Britt Ivarsson have hated each other since their freshman year of high school. Even after high school, the bitterness between them continued. Which makes working together difficult. Carmelo’s job as a wedding planner often brought him into contact with Britt at his formal wear shop, Tailor Made, much to his displeasure. One day he finds Britt at the shop looking wrecked. It was the anniversary of his lover, Javier’s death. Javier also happened to be Carmelo’s cousin. One empathic moment led to an unexpected friendship. As their friendship grows Carmelo and Britt are forced to confront long-buried feelings. Feelings that neither of them are prepared to face. With past traumas, sexual awakenings, and a family full of more hate than love can these two find a way forward together? Or will they become enemies once more?
I love Carmelo and Britt! This is my first book in the Beau Ties series and I am so glad that they can be read as stand alone stories; although, I really want to go back and read the first four books now.
There are some tw's with this book: mentions of suicide, homophobic behavior from family, and bullying. All of that adds to Carmelo and Britt's story. It takes you from their past to who they are now. Tailor Made is also an enemies to lovers story, so seeing that gap bridged as well is beyond sweet. I love that Britt supports Carmelo, giving him time and space to come out to his family. Knowing that Carmelo was bullied by his own family, makes his treatment of Britt easier to understand. It also makes everything that happened with Javier harder in my opinion as you can see both men grieving for him. Seeing Melo come to understand his wants and stand up for Britt and himself...oh, my heart. This is an absolutely lovely story of two men finding out that what they think isn't always true and what they feel for each other is much more important than outside forces.
This was a lovely read. Two men with the shared wound of loving someone they both loved, while also sharing a history of bad blood. It’s hard to trust when things start to change, walls are lowered, and feelings grow. But they have a sweet progression, and I love watching Carmelo come into his own. They both have big hearts and it was lovely when they were both able to show it.
The kink was a bit unexpected, and for the record, I love kink stories, but some kinks I prefer to be prepared for, regardless, I love witnessing two people finding their perfect pairing. And they are both clearly in their element here.
It’s never easy to be reminded of exactly how terrible some families can be, but Freesia does a great job of finding a balance of love and hope against such hate.
Carmelo and Britt were tentative friends in highschool. When Britt began to be bullied Carmelo didn't participate but he also did nothing to help. When Carmelo's cousin Javi took his life after coming out to his family Britt reveals they were secretly in a relationship. As a result they have a very contentious work relationship and barely tolerate one another. When Britt is struggling on the anniversary of Javi's death Carmelo offers an olive branch and they struggle to begin a friendship once again. Things develop even further when Carmelo moves in next door and confesses that he's interested in exploring kink and that his interests align perfectly with Britt's. Unfortunately Carmelo's family is very much against their relationship. While Britt fears that he may lose another partner to this vile family he has to trust that Carmelo is stronger than Javi and won't succumb to their peer pressure which he does not.
Chemistry 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Romance 💗💗💗💗💗 This was a great read. Two wounded souls find their way to one another. I very much enjoyed the chemistry between Britt and melo. What I was not prepared for was the absolute kink this book had. Mind you this was my second book by this author. The first one was a Christmas book. Soooo this was way more than I expected. I don't like to read books for kink as I enjoy the romance of a read. But I can tell you it had a very good balance of the kink with lots of emotions of the romance I love. I was also not prepared for the offensive family melo has. Sometimes bullies need to have their virtual arses kicked. But I think the author did a great job showing what bigots some family members can be. If you like mm romance with a healthy dose of spice this is your read.
A very beautiful and well written MM romance. I loved the way that Freesia wrote this story. Most MM romances that I’ve read, solely focused on the spice aspect, not really showing any family relationship and opinions.
Freesia did an amazing job with showing the realism that many members of the LGBTQ+ community faces when they’re in partnerships. The disapproving family members, the struggles of being your true self, finding love in a difficult time, dealing with grief. Every page displayed real emotions and I loved that she didn’t just make it a “feel good” MM romance at all. Carmelo and Britt were the best choices for this romance. They overcame so much, dealt with a lot, but leaned on each other to get through the dark times. Love and hope can conquer anything! I will definitely be reading the rest of this series.
Carmelo is a wedding coordinator forced to work with a high school enemy, Britt, a tailor. Britt was also in a relationship with Carmelo's cousin, Javier before he committed suicide over his relatives disapproval. This is an emotionally triggering book with Carmelo trying to reconcile his bi feelings and grief and trauma over his cousin while wrestling with coming out. Britt has to bravely face his love for Carmelo against Carmelo's family's hostility. There is also the BDSM element with Britt being a Dom, feminization and Carmelo's love of humiliation and degradation. This book will make you feel it all. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
Tailor Made is the 5th book in the Beau Ties Series. It can be read as a standalone but I love reading all the books in a series. This is the story of Britt who is dealing with his lovers death anniversary and Carmelo who bullied Britt in highschool. Please read the trigger warnings as this book deals with the aftermath of suicide. Both the main characters have so much to deal with. I love the way Freesia Woodley wrote about this. This story will definitely pull at your heart. I would definitely recommend this book and series.
I enjoyed reading this kink loaded story. Main character Carmelo, is a former marine and currently a wedding planner. During high school he bullied the other main character, Britt, currently the owner of a formal wear shop. They are steamy together after they move past their enemy phase. There is no room for preconceived stereotypical roles in this romantic relationship. A few of the elements: *First times *BDSM D/S *Exhibitionism *Feminization *Humiliation/Praise *Dirty talk *🍆warming And, so much more! I am panting to read the sixth book in this wonderful series!
This was good story but not an easy read Carmelo and Britt have a lot of bad history together, but when a tentative friendship forms and starts turning into something more some hard truths need to be addressed, this is quite an emotional rollercoaster of a story and Carmelo and Britt’s path to happiness is not an easy one but they are willing to do what they have to do to get their hea. Well worth a read.
Carmelo and Britt’s story isn’t always an easy one— look out for obstacles and baggage and complicated history galore— but it is full of feeling and ultimately makes for a deeply rewarding read. These characters fit together, physically and emotionally, and watching them work through everything that comes their way is a lot, in all the best ways.
*I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I enjoyed this story. Britt and Carmelo have so much history, a lot of it not good. But they find common ground and build from there. Not expecting to fall in love and having to figure out how to navigate it when they do. Well written story with a good amount of kink, along with the story of their love.
I loved this story so much, and am glad these two men were able to get past old issues and family drama to grow into the wonderful couple they are. It wasn’t good all of the hatred they had to face in their lives with family and outsiders. I love the dogs too, great side kicks. I definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves mm romance stories with real issues.
I absolutely loved this story. Please mind the trigger warnings because this story will tug on your heartstrings. These two did not have an easy story. There was so much emotion in this, from laughter to tears and everything in between. This was a fantastic story and I can’t wait for the next one.
Will be the first to admit I am a sucker for former bully redemption romances. And man, this one does not disappoint!. Carmelo comes from a very religious bigoted background and from that took out his frustration on Britt a beautiful gender fluid character who was always their true self. When Carmelo goes away to serve the Air Force, he learns to accept and grow and realize how wrong he was. Britt lost his first love, Javier, who also happens to be Carmelos cousin to suicide for not being able to move past his families views. When the two year anniversary comes, Carmello is forced to see the pain Britt has been dealing with. They strike a friendship that leads them into the kink world, and their passion is long awaited and pure fire. Togehter, they learn to stick up for what they believe in and put their past behind them and move forward.

Wonderful story of Carmelo Castillo-Luna and Britt Ivarsson, owners of a tailor/dress shop and a wedding planning business, that despite their animosity they must work together. Both are dealing with the death of Carmelo's cousin and Britt's lover, but once they start to have feelings for each other that's the least of their worries. Please note trigger warnings: Mentions of suicide, on-page homophobic language from family members, and bullying. Loved these characters and how despite all their hardships they could not deny their love and were willing to fight for it.
