‘I promised myself after that break-up that I’d hold out for a grand, glorious, perfect love story.’ She added drily, ‘Still waiting.’
Stevie’s been on the wild ride called life for almost thirty years and things are starting to change. Her ex is getting married, her mum is diving back into the dating game, and her best friend has settled down with and I quote “the most boring man alive”, she feels like life is moving on without her.
To make things even more complicated, her old uni friend Johnno West keeps showing up at her jobs as best man and might I add looking better than ever. Stevie starts to question if their pact to get together if they were still single by their early thirties could have potential.
But just as Stevie starts to wonder, the mysterious and charming Charlie Jones enters the picture and makes her feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Has Stevie finally found her Happier ever after or is it too good to be true?
After reading Love Match a couple of months ago I knew this book needed to make it was to my tbr, and did on #loveyourbookshopday @harryhartog.penrith and as predicted I devoured it.
Like Love Match it had that same rural Australian flare however this book follows Stevie around the globe shooting weddings and navigating her feelings. I loved the supporting characters as well as the diverse group of couples at each wedding. Stevie was such a strong and independent woman yet still plagued by the same struggles most of us feel.
Swags, bouquet tosses, pooches, pubs, small town, second chances with relationships at its core. This heart warming story has you in stitchers one moment then in the feels in the next. I’m very excited to see what Clare comes out with next. If this isn’t on your TBR I highly recommend adding it and if it is pick it up stat.
