Eight years ago, there was a boy. He was my best friend, and then one night he became more. The night was magical, full of love and promises of the future. But then my life turned upside down. I told Kyson Hill I loved him. I told him we were forever. Then I left the next morning. I didn’t want to say goodbye. I didn’t want to break his heart. Turns out I broke it anyway. I never spoke to him again. Until now. Now, he’s here. He wants answers. Answers that I can’t give him. Answers that I don’t know how to admit to myself. The boy who was my everything is my new roommate, and he hates me. And me? Well, I just hate that I still love him.

I’m so happy i was provided an ARC by Grey’s Promotion in exchanges of an honest review! Thank you guys so much <3
okay so first of all let me just tell you that i couldn’t find the time to read Blazing Star since i got it, and knowing i was right there and i just hadn’t any time for it was pure torture. So yesterday i finally found a moment to pick it up and just didn’t put it down until i was done. I just sat there for 5hours drowning in Jess Taylor’s words.
I loved book 1 and 2 with everything i have and this little guy just joined his brothers in my heart.
One thing I love about this series other than it just being perfect, is that everything happens pretty much at the same time so every glimpse of a character we get in a book, we learn more about it in their own book. And I remember being so intrigued by Gabby and her mysterious new roommate ever since we learned about it in book 1.
Now about Gabby and Kyson, gosh i love them so so much… I don’t know how Jess Taylor does it but she wins me over every single time with the way she writes her characters and their stories.
I’m so glad we got Gabby’s book, because in the others we didn’t get as much glimpses of her as we did the others so there wasn’t a lot we knew about her. And finally getting to really meet her character was such an amazing experience. Of course there were tears — a lot of them — but she is such a strong character. And hers and Kyson love was so pure.
Oh lord Kyson… I need a Ky in my life as well.
I swear i had literal butterflies the whole time.
Between giggles and teary eyes it was such a great read!
I love Jess Taylor’s writing so much i literally cannot wait for King’s book, because from the beginning his the one i the most interesting about (i mean come on a 30+ year old single dad to two lovely girls ? I. NEED.) i think i’ll die when this one comes out. Please Jess never stop this series i’m begging !
So obviously if it wasn’t clear this is a 100% a 5⭐️
Now go read it. Right Now !

Where do I even BEGIN?? I was hooked from the very first page and you know when you read the first page and you get the feeling it will be a good book well never mind good this was PHENOMENAL!! I’m truly in love by the end of it I wanted to cry of happiness the connection between Kyson & Gabby was everything! These guys are childhood friends to lovers and if you know me I LOVE this trope! I was always interested in Gabby from the start and her backstory broke my heart and just her in general I felt for her 🥺 the way she has anxiety and panic attacks I can relate too and it’s so hard to deal with but luckily Kyson knows how to help her 🥹 Gabby she’s a hard worker she’s a nurse who works her bones to the ground! And her personality I love she’s a little shy but when she’s with the right person it’s like a whole new person 🥰 Kyson wow what a MAN he is truly everything I love how he waited and took his time with Gabby and forgave her for what happened when they were kids 😭 Kyson is obsessed with Gabby and when they reunite I had no where idea where it would go but watching these two connect after eight years and come together again was beautiful Kyson & Gabby truly belong together 🥹 I want to say more but I suggest you READ IT!!!

Quotes I loved:
“Since the moment I met Gabby, she's felt like home.”

"I don't want just memories with you, Gabs. I want a future."

“There's not a universe that exists where I'm not completely and irrevocably in love with you, Kyson. No matter what, that's always certain for me too."

“The truth is, we've always been each other's forever, even when we weren't. Life can be messy, but through the chaos, we found our way back to each other. To this moment.”

Tropes:
🪻 Childhood friends to lovers
💫 Roommates
🪻 Second chance
💫 Hate to love
🪻 Doctor x Artist

thank you to jess taylor & greys promo for the arc of blazing stars!!!

i loved this book & i love this series!! i have been so intrigued by gabby & kyson’s story since forget me not, and i was not disappointed!

this an emotional story with themes of grief, loss, hurt, healing, and love.

gabby is such a well written character with so much depth, kindness, and relatability. i want to give her the biggest hug. i loved how jess wrote her anxieties, fears, grieving process, and her healing journey. her relationship with her mother was heartbreaking and beautiful & handled with so much care. i loved her kind, driven, and dedicated nature. i love her!!!!

kyson is also so well written with so much depth. his hurt and anger was written so well, in a way that may seem polarizing but you can understand him at the same time. i wanted to hug him and shake him all at once. i loved how jess wrote his character, how she handled his growth and his healing. he is such a protective, caring, and genuine person & when he shows it… UGH. i love him.

gabby & kyson’s relationship is emotional and full of longing. their story of heartbreak, anger, and pain was beautifully done. through all of that, though, you can feel how much they love and care for each other. after 8 years of silence and resentment, their bond is still alive & well, their love for each other is just the same. the flashbacks into their friendship in high school was so lovely, and it only emphasized the idea of “first & only love”. i loved getting to see them find each other again, heal alongside each other, and grow through their struggles.

the spice in this book was SO good. the chemistry and years of built up tension between them was palpable.

this is a high school friends to lovers to strangers to enemies to lovers romance, with forced proximity/roommates, grief/loss, and lots of angst!!!

i love kyson & gabby so much!!! thank you again to jess taylor & greys promo for the arc :)

I don’t usually like the miscommunication trope but this one made me so mad but I also loved it at the same time. When she finally tells her aunt out loud, I cried, her being able to say it out loud and finally knowing it’s true made me have such relief as if I was really there. I really liked this book and I can’t wait for the next one.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Actual rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice level: 🌶️🌶️

This was my first read by Taylor, and to say she brought the emotions - and made my heart break more than once as I read - is an understatement. Gabby and Ky's story was one hell of a rollercoaster ride; one which I'd honestly happily read again, even though it hurt like a MAC-truck in a few spots.

Second chance romance novels are always a good read for me, especially if it's a best friends to lovers to enemies to lovers. I love a long, complex backstory as to why the leading characters made the decisions they made, and Gabby's reasons, yeah, I'm saying it again, they broke my heart.

The way Taylor split this book into two parts was genius. You get to fall in love with Gabby and Ky falling in love, the absolute sweetness of high school romance. You get the beautiful scene with the blazing stars (and goodness me, does that field of flowers sound absolutely stunning!), and the utter heartbreak as Gabby realises what must be done.

Fast-forward eight years, and we're dealing with the fallout, and it's affected both Ky and Gabby in so many ways. I love that Gabby followed her passion still, even if it's slightly different to the path she wanted to take. And those recordings? Oh, gosh, I could picture her perfectly for each one, that's how well written the script was for it.

As for the forced proximity trope within... I'm surprised that our couple lasted as long as they did.

But the chemistry when they do sort their shit out? Explosive. And that

A beautifully emotional read that makes me want to check out the rest of the series.

I am the biggest hater of the miscommunication trope- and the fact that it took NINETY percent of the book before they finally work through their problems was a no for me. Least fav of the series by far

4.25 stars | Kyson motherf—king Hill 🧎🏽‍♀️ This book has me in a chokehold! From the very well done Puerto Rican representation, to the second chance, and angst! I was here for it all!

Gabbi and Kyson have been bff's and their connection is so strong, nothing can tear them apart. One night, Gabbi receives some news that changes her life. She decides to have one last night with him where they both confess they love each other and promise to be together forever—until Gabbi leaves the next morning, completely ghosting Kyson for years to come. Fast forward, Gabbi and Kyson are reunited in the worst way they could expect: he's her new roommate.

I had such a blast reading this book! LISTEN! The Puerto Rican representation is SPOT ON! My favorite part has to be how Jess included Puerto Rican Christmases; they're the best, and Jess did a great job describing everything! And the best part was when she mentioned "homemade soup with mofongo"; I immediately messaged my mother-in-law to get the ball rolling and make me some because IT'S SO GOOD!

I loved how this was a journey on forgiveness, as well as learning to trust yourself and rediscovering a love you thought was long gone.It was elegant and breathtaking. And the spice...whew! Prepare for the ferris wheel scene. 🥵

– childhood friends to hate to love
– second chance romance
– he’s an artist
– roommates
– forced proximity

Thank u so much Jess Taylor and Grey’s Promotions for the ARC!🫶🏼
This book is incredible! I enjoyed every moment. I just couldn't tear myself away from Gabby and Kyson's story🥹
I finished this book a few days ago and I can't stop thinking about them🤍
Kyson and Gabby have known each other since high school where they were best friends and secretly in love with each other. And after one night together, Gabby is forced to leave and leave Kyson behind💔
Gabby broke Kyson's heart and after 8 years of separation, Kyson meets Gabby again. His feelings for Gabby are just as strong, but he can't get over Gabby's secret disappearance and wants to know why she left him after the promise of eternity.
Unfortunately, Gabby is traumatized by what happened in her life and cannot reveal her biggest secret to Kyson.
Tropes:
🪻childhood friends to strangers to lovers
🪻second chance
🪻love to hate to love
🪻 roommates
Kyson is just amazing, he would do anything for Gabby, the way he tried to get to know Gabby again and get her to trust him was priceless😍
Gabby has never seen anyone in her life but Kyson and how she finally overcame her fears to be with him broke my heart in the best way!
They were simply created for each other💜
I felt an incredibly large number of emotions while reading. In the end, I even cried😭

5+⭐️ Ugh I loved this book so much! I knew from the first few pages that this book would be amazing and would destroy me! I'm officially obsessed with second chance romance and childhood friends to lovers! Kyson and Gabby's love story was so heartbreaking, but I'm so happy they found their way back to each other in the end. Gabby is a relatable character for anyone who has lost a parent. Kyson is a top book boyfriend *swoon*

"Surrounded by a beautiful field of flowers, and yet still, she's the most perfect thing I've ever seen."

"I've been holding myself together with tape and glue, rather than dealing with all the pain. I've never allowed myself to fall apart. To shatter. I'm scared that if I do, there won't be any way for me to piece myself back together. I won't survive it."

"There's nobody like you. You've ruined me, princesa."

"How can I let go of someone who I feel like was stolen from me far too soon?"

"Meet me in the place where our forever first started. Me me in a field of Blazing Stars."

Holey. Freaking. Moley. This book was incredible. A book with the second chance trope can easilv be 5 stars imo IF it's done properly, & Jess truly smashed it out of the park! This book had me kicking my feet, screaming, crying, giggling, sweating, sobbing, blushing. I was literally enthralled & knew this book would be 5 stars right from the beginning.

In part 1, the love between Gabby & Kyson is so gentle, wholesome, innocent, & heartwarming, & their banter had me smiling like a fool. In part 2 their love is filled with heartbreak, jealousy, longing, & SO much tension & angst😩 & the spice? Whew😮‍💨that pottery/ceramic scene had me screaming.. Together they were just so explosive.

I saw so much of myself in Gabby; her being a realist but also overthinking & worrying 24/7 & the way she valued her education & worked hard to make her mum proud. Her anxiety & panic attacks were very well written imo. I loved watching her become more confident, stand up for herself, & get over all her fears. Kyson, my sweet boy🥹 he was such an amazing friend to Gabby, & was always so attentive & caring. It was evident that he cared & felt for Gabby so deeply. His jealousy & pettiness had me dying🤣

Read if you like: childhood best friends to strangers to lovers, hate to love, roommates, second chance romance, forced proximity

This series has been a great find, and the latest, a second chance, emotional rollercoaster, angsty, never a dull moment story.

Gabby and Kyson have been friends since High School, but neither knows how to act on the feelings they have towards each other. At this time, things are not meant to be as Gabby must leave, but promises are made. This one night changes everything for them.

Eight years later, the two find themselves in the same place. I love Gabby’s strength during the separation. Will now be their time?

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Huge thank you to Jess & Valentine PR for sending me the ARC to absolutely devour. I read it in less than 24 hours and was literally reading it in a club I couldn’t put it down 🤣

Jess wrote unique second chance romance where the FMC, Gabriel, disappears without a trace for 8 years and the MMC, Kyson, runs into her… in their apartment. 🤭

Gabby has many secrets and takes on the weight of the world by herself and it takes a toll on her relationships. Without spoiling too much, Gabby may or may not have a degenerative disease that runs in her family. And Kyson doesn’t know.

This is a friends to lovers to enemies to lovers and wowza! I was blown away by Jess’ ability to give them the amount of chemistry they do have even when he hates her.

This is book 3 in the series, but can be read as a standalone!

You’ll love this if you like

✨ second chance
✨ angst
✨ childhood best friends

Blazing Stars is book three in the Blossoming Beginnings series but can be read as a standalone.

I absolutely loved everything about Gabby, she’s just so adorable! She deals with so much but she’s so much stronger than she gives herself credit for, so it made me so happy to see her overcome it all. Her character was beautifully written, and the author handles Gabby’s trauma and anxiety so well!

Kyson was the biggest problem for me in this book. They had such a sweet backstory which is shown in flashbacks, and he was adorable but I feel like he’s just downright vindictive to her when they are finally forced together and I found myself hoping she’d tell him to take a hike because she can do so much better!

It took me a while to read this book because I had such a hard time getting into it. That being said, please don’t let my review put you off reading Blazing Stars, give it a go and let me know why you think I’m wrong!! I’m always up for talking about books!

Sorry but MMC was ADORABLE, loved him, especially in part 1 but FMC was annoying as hell. Obviously she had been through such a trauma but please please please just tell the poor guy.

Loads of build up for a voice memo and he’s like oops sorry. Why would no one be asking about her mum or family etc especially at Christmas? And why would he not ask considering how much he loved her mum? Only mentioned once when his sister asked

Writing is still great and it’s still a good series but Theo & FMC annoyed me too much in this one

blazing stars 🪻💫

i absolutely love a second chance romance, so i knew this would be a great read and it really was. gabby and kyson were so sweet and innocent and i really liked how we got a few chapters at the start to fully see their friendship and their past and what happened to caused the fraction in the future. it was really nice to see how close and deep their connection went.

‘he knows about my new roommate, kyson. he just doesn't know the history behind us. he doesn't know that i knew him before he moved in. he doesn't know that he was my everything at one point. that i was his. just not anymore.’

through books 1 and 2 we always saw demi as a little happy but mysterious and we learnt that she had a knew roommate who was rude and grumpy towards her, but after reading this book i completely understand why kyson was so angry at her. i fully understand gabby’s side as well, she was scared, losing her mum and coming to terms what it could meant for her future. but i am also so glad that a few people called gabby out and told her she was being unfair on keeping kyson in the dark.

‘i told gabby eight years ago that i wanted forever with her, and i still do. it doesn't matter if her forever won't be as long as we thought. all that matters is that i get to spend every second of it with her.’

their chemistry was also so strong even when they ‘hated’ one another, you could always see just how much they cared for each other. kyson was amazing and i really loved his character a lot, i found him to be authentic, loyal and caring. gabby i did really like but as i said i wish she tried a little harder to be honest with kyson, but she was still so loveable and i really felt bad for her and the pain she was dealing with. i really liked how jess added in gabby’s voice memos, just so we could really see how scared she was and it allowed me to connect more to her emotions and understand her a little more.

Blazing Stars is book number 3 in the Blossoming Beginnings series. This book follows Kyson Hill and Gabby Santos.

Kyson and Gabby were the best of friends throughout high school. Both having deeper feelings for one another but not knowing how to take the next step.

That is until tragedy struck that forces Gabby to have to move away. Not wanting to say goodbye, Gabby decides to spend their last night together facing their true feelings and promising each other forever. Unbeknownst to Kyson that forever would be gone in the morning.

That is until one day, 8 years later, they end up at the same place at the same time again. Imagine the shock to them both when they are face to face again when Kyson becomes Gabby’s new roommate.

Will Kyson’s pain prove to be too much for the two to reconcile? Will Gabby ever be able to provide the answers that Kyson needs to move forward? Or will Gabby’s grief hold her back from her one true love?

This book had me in tears and was a complete rollercoaster. It is filled with so much angst and raw emotion. I was captivated by how real this book felt. Jess has this powerful way of writing with such depth that will make you feel everything. It was both heartbreaking and healing. Gabby had so much growth during the story and watching her handle the feelings of such a deep pain and working through the emotions and being able to come out the other end was truly beautiful. I could feel how much Kyson and Gabby were soulmates and watching them find their way back to one another was inspiring. You also have the added spice, and my goodness did it pack the heat! The chemistry between these two is off the charts.

"Blazing start" is a second chance romance and it was definitely emotional for me.

8 years ago, Gabby and Kyson were best friends. Bit by bit, they started realizing that they have feelings for each other. Sadly, Gabby receives devastating news and has to move to her aunt's house. She meets with Kyson the evening before she leaves and their feelings turn into a night of love. She leaves town with no explanation whatsoever to Kyson. For the next 8 years, they are leading different lives and Gabby is dealing with so much grief. Then they meet again...

I understood Gabby's pain and I knew where she was coming from. Her heart was broken for the boy she left and for the mother she missed. Her anxiety, her fears were the one thing stopping her telling the truth to Kyson. I knew it was hard for her and I think she'd done it in the best way possible for her. Because even after all the time apart, she was madly in love with him and wanted a future together.

Kyson...Darling Kyson! After Gabby left him, he was a total wreck and shut down the world around him. His anger had been built up for 8 long years. He was burned so badly by Gabby, but now he finally had the chance to receive some answers. Even after all that hurt, he was still protective of Gabby and always trying to take care of her. I was so happy to see the long healing process that gave both of them some time, closure and forgiveness.

Their relationship was filled with so much hurt, anger, longing and, most importantly, love. A true love that needed to break the bonds and be given a second chance.

Oh, the spice...OMG...the spice. It was brilliant and I was there for it. It was full of heat, spice and so much smut 🥵🥵🥵. I loved it.

Overall, I loved reading Gabby and Kyson's story.

Gabriela Santos and Kyson Hill are high school best friends fall in love with each other. After telling him about her love she leaves him the very next day. This makes Kyson anxious and tries to contact her in every way. Eight whole years passed Kayson is an artist and works in Seattle. He is searching for a new house and then he finds it. Now what happened?? Gabby is her roommate. Kyson doesn't like Gabby and tries to ignore her presence. Gabby is heartbroken about his behaviour but she knows the things she has done to him. At one point they are hating each other but Kyson still loves Gabby and wan6t to explore the truth. Gabby doesn't tell what really happens. What is Gabby's problem ? Which truth she is hiding from Kyson ? What problems does she face in the 8 years ?
⚘ Gabby and Kyson both are loving characters and loving them infinitely.
⚘ I love the Gabby's determination of achieving her dreams but she has to tell everything to Kyson .
⚘ Kyson is more a sweetheart 😘 . He goes through the pain for 8 years without knowing the actual reason. The pain is unbearable when you love the person wholeheartedly and they leave you without a goodbye. I understand you Kyson .
⚘ Sometimes they fight each other like children. And then they are craving for each other 😌
⚘ Theo , Kaia are like the chatter boxes .. Cam and Summer are like the Bun and Butter 🤣🧈.. Thats a vibe right
⚘ I love the Blazing Stars field 💜. Their pottery classes are just 🔥...
⚘ But I feel awkward when the teenagers had s@x. .. But its a part of the story and I cant complain it .

Jess has a special talent for making me fall for all her MMCs and leaving me in tears for minutes, whether they be happy or sad. And her FMCs are all adorable and have some kind of trauma to overcome. I always find similarities between their situations and my own, and seeing them overcome their struggles helps me process my own.

By the time I reached the 10 percent mark, I had already cried a little and fallen head over heels for Kyson. When I tell you he's perfect, I mean it! Even when he's mean or angry, you can't help but love him because you know he's just hurt. Every time Jess releases a new book, I think she can't top her previous hero, and she says: watch me. Kyson is protective, patient, funny, and an all-or-nothing kind of man. When he's in, he gives you everything he has, everything he is.

Gabby is stronger than she ever gave herself credit for. I hated that she went through hell alone while also having to put on a brave face. And everything changed over a night, her life wasn't the same anymore. I understand why she chose to deal with all her problems alone. I see so much of myself in her, maybe that's why I can relate to her this much.

Jess's books are built around heavy and emotional themes, and it's all so well-written that if you read any of her books for the first time, you would never tell that it's the first or fifteenth one. Big successes are waiting for her, I'm sure, and I want to be here to see them all.
I think I know who's next, or at least I hope I do. I've been praying for his story since book one. Overall, Blazing Stars is a beautiful second chance romance, and a story that needed to be told.

This may be my favourite book in the series no matter how much it infuriated me.

I have so much to say about Gabby… and how she could leave her BEST FRIEND turned LOVER right after they admitted their feelings and made love with each other. Do you not have the decency to at least tell your best friend, who was just as close to your mum, that you’ll be moving away bc she’s sick? Because he deserves at least an explanation of why you’ve just left him stone cold. FOR EIGHT YEARS. Like bro could’ve kept in contact with him. A phone call, a text, heck even an email. But bro cut EVERYONE off. And when they finally meet again and Kyson is trying to get an explanation out of her, she just ‘can’t’. Gabby girl, I get that you’re scared to admit that your mum’s dead but pls let the guy know what’s up. Also, why did it take you 8 years to finally get tested for the gene? If you had gotten tested the same year you found out abt your mum’s illness, you wouldn’t have spent the next 8 years in fear. Anyways, I’ve had enough of her.

Least to say, I did kind of eat up this trope. You know the friends to lovers in high school kinda romance, but then suddenly leaving him without explanation (I’m a hypocrite), many years later when y’all thought you’ve moved on, you meet again and then you realise y’all never moved on and are in fact still irrevocably in love with them. Loved it. Also, as much as Ky annoyed me 30% of the book, he’s just as charming and I know he also fucks good 🤭

The epilogue got me giggling and I know for a FACT I’m gonna eat up King’s book.

Leave it to Jess Taylor to bring you such a heartwarming, and satisfying slow-burn romance!

This was honestly such a beautiful read about second chances, healing, and genuine love. I was smiling so much at how Kyson and Gabby navigated their relationship from being friends to meeting again to giving their love another chance. What caught my attention was how realistic their actions were, how they dealt with pain and loss, and how valid their emotions were throughout the story.

It was pure love, the characters have depth and personality in them that make them so good and relatable at some point. I love how I get to see their growth especially when it comes to Gabby, since she is someone who has dealt with such a tremendous pain, and seeing how she was able to overcome it makes me genuinely happy for her. She and Kyson’s friendship is something that I also enjoyed, the bond that they have created showed genuine, unconditional love and to be honest I just enjoy that kind of romance in a book.

On the other hand, the spice? mhmm absolute delight :”) Their chemistry with each other makes me giggle and kick my feet HAHA. Quite a tandem they are, they deserve the world like honestly speaking!!

Now, if you are into these following tropes then this would be a good book for you

- Second Chance romance
- Friends to lovers
- Roomates
- Artist x Doctor

Thank you so much to Greys Promo and Jess Taylor for an ARC of this beautiful book!!

Blazing Stars by Jess Taylor 💜
Rating - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Eight years ago She broke his heart and Now he's standing in front of her in her apartment as her new roommate! Determined to get answers, determined to make her life hell.
I love Second Chance Romance and Trust me this is one of the best Second Chance Romance I've ever read.
I adore Gabby's character so much. And I can relate to her most of the time. How she gets anxious and overthinks most of the time, how her priority is her studies and her career And of course how she has lived in Seattle for 8 years but has never been to any tourist place there. I loved how dedicated she was, and how hardworking she was to make her mom proud.
And obviously Kyson Hill, He has my heart!!
“Do you know how long I’ve wanted to do this?” he whispers against the shell of my ear. “Fuck you like you deserve to be fucked.”

I love how he helps her during her panic attack, even though he is angry with her. He's an Artistttt!!!
I absolutely loved their relationship before 8 years and after 8 years. I loved how even after 8 years, nothing changed. How they both are still comfortable with each other. I loved their dates and the pottery scene. Ahhh.
I cried every time Gabby mentioned her mother, and how her life is without her.
The writing style is so freaking good. The Grief, Loss and Healing scenes are written pretty well. I saw a lot of people don't write it perfectly but Jess did an amazing job right there.
The ending of the book was so good, I loved how in the end Gabby finally have what she deserves. I was so happy that Gabby was finally happy!!
I love the side characters too. But my favourites are Summer, Cass and Kaia. And Obviously, now my first priority is to check if Jess has written a book about any of them. It'll be fun to read about characters like Summer and Cass.
Overall, It was an amazing book. If you love second-chance romance, then you should probably read this.
It feels so good to read a book by an author for the first time and immediately fall in love with the writing style, so know you want to read everything that the author has written or going to write in the future.

Blazing Stars is Book 3 in the series Blossoming Beginning. But you can read it as a standalone.

‘there’s not a universe that exists where im not completely and irrevocably in love with you, kyson. no matter what, that’s always certain for me too’

wow. this book was beautiful. there was funny moments, heartfelt moments, moments where my heart was hurting for the characters and i wouldn’t want it any other way.

i loved how realistic jess taylor portrays trauma & grief and shows us the parts of the healing that aren’t usually talked about. she also shows the other side of grief, how it feels to be pushed away from somebody who may be dealing with grief and not knowing how to process those emotions.

the story shows gabby and kyson learning to navigate their bond through many ups and downs, you’ll find yourself sympathising with both of them through their side of the pain.

watching these two finding their way back to eachother despite everything they have been through was so emotional and beautiful, the love kyson and gabby share is truly admirable.

- second chance romance

Omg the tears 😭 I was absolutely gutted for Gabby and reading her recordings she did had me in tears half the time.

This was such a heart breaking read. It will put you through all the emotions.

The way Gabby couldn’t come to terms with things and kept it hidden and bottled up really speaks for a lot of people dealing with grief and loss.

I loved Gabby and Kyson, they are true soulmates and meant to be together. They had to overcome a lot to get to their HEA.
