Life can be fickle and it can be rough.

One minute you’re riding the high of an impossible win and the next your hands are wrapped around the bars of a cell.

No matter your life’s accomplishments, once you hit rock bottom, you’re forgotten. If you’re no longer useful, you’re discarded.

I ran my body and mind into the ground, pushed myself to greatness, and all for a game I would ultimately lose.

What happens when you finally face your fears and jump into the abyss, only to find out you’re completely alone?

The one person you’ve come to depend on disappears and your heart longs for the hunger only he can satisfy. There are no right answers and time doesn’t heal all wounds.

Red Zone is one of my most anticipated books of the year. It was well worth the wait, and I was far from disappointed. I read this book in one sitting and pulled an all-nighter. The author caught my attention from the beginning, and I didn't lose it not once.

Book two takes place three months after book one ends. No worry, you will read what happens in those months. Sebastian and Dixon’s relationship is complicated. Each equally not the same men they were. Of course, it’s full of angst, and all is not what it seems. Plus, you have outside interference to boot.

You can’t help but love both of them. The character growth and chemistry are phenomenal. You can never go wrong when you add football into the story.

If you’re looking for MM, Sports, and Dark Romance, this duet is for you. C.A. Renee is the queen of Dark.

📚 🆁🅴🅳 🆉🅾🅽🅴 📚Is the second length sports MM romance book in the series 'Hail Mary,' by C.A Renee. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'A continuation of Dixon and Sebs story which picks up right where the previous book left off.

OMG it was so good to jump back into this world, as soon as it landed on my kindle I did a re-read of the 1st book and straight onto this baby and all those feels just came rushing at me. The push and pull was full throttle, the angsty stabby feels hit me in the heart, these two were destined for each other.

The author did such an amazing job with these characters, so beautifully written, the storyline flowed perfectly, generally I'm not a big fan of MM but this author hooked me from the start. This was an easy 5 star rating.

I loved the gang life and the struggles these boys encountered as they both stepped into the unknown. Their chemistry sizzled off the pages, these two have had to fight tooth and nail to get to where they are at in life, so many hurdles were thrown at them, so many obstacles they had to overcome to reach their HEA.

With such warmth and natural sensitivity, this story absolutely delivered -- sports, camaraderie and family, discord, intrigue, and unstoppable love. And it wouldn't be a C.A. Rene romance without spice. I swooned over Seb and Dixon's love affair -- tumultuous and so romantic -- rooting for them in their push and pull, yet each so protective of the other. It was obvious even as they tried to deny it that they were soulmates.

Sebastian, ever the growly cocky alpha, battles his personal demons and physical ailment, as he resolves his street life, his family, and his feelings for Dixon. Dixon is the team player, good son, empathetic, and confused over his sexuality. They both, however, cannot deny their attraction for each other as hints of their true feelings manifest.

The side characters are so integral to storyline, too. Whether for character development or subplots, some of the best moments are experienced within the intricacies of their exchanges and interactions. Heart-warming encounters included the repartee and regular visits with Dixon's mother, fellow football players at the local bar, and even clashes with Coach's daughter. Everyone had a story, and their engagement created a reading experience grounded in realism and emotion.

Never a dull moment, the story flowed at a progressive, captivating pace. In fact, I could not put it down. A warm combination of romance and intrigue with the beauty of diversity and representation, I was moved, a charmed member of this adventure. One of my favorite romances.

Oh my…is it hot in here? Red Zone is so panty meltingly hot and has sooo much of my favorite elements. I loved the ending. After the cliffhanger with Blue 42 I had sooo many questions and they have all been answered and I for one am happy!! I loved all the twists, turns, drama, angst, back and forth, and all of the emotional responses that I experienced while reading the Hail Mary Duet (Blue 42 and Red Zone). The Hail Mary Duet is dark and more than a little twisted but so hot🔥! If you love dark, twisted, romances then you will love reading both Blue 42 and Red Zone. I highly recommend both Blue 42, Red Zone (Hail Mary Duet) and C.A. Rene as an author. If you have read C.A. Rene then you know she writes the best dark, twisted, panty meltingly hot, steamy romances!! What I absolutely love about C.A.’s books are how she makes you feel everything that her characters do. Her characters are always strong, resilient characters that you fully empathize with and want the best for. C.A. Rene is definitely one of my favorite authors and if this is the first time considering reading one of her books you will love her books. I do suggest that you read Blue 42 before Red Zone or you won’t get the most out of the Hail Mary Duet. Actually any of C.A. Books will are worth reading. I have not read them all but I have read most of them and I have not regretted reading a single one. My first book from C.A. Rene I read was the Desecrated Duet and from there the Whitsborough Chronicles. After the Desecrated Duet I was a big fan and after the first book from the Whitsborough Chronicles, Through the Pain, and she became one of my favorite author. I can’t wait to see what she has planned next which I think is Gabriel’s Deceptionfrom the Whitsborough Progenies series. Happy Reading!

DAMN!! I thought book one was a crazy emotional rollercoaster ride, but book two blew that one out of the water! Red Zone is grittier, darker, more intense, action packed and will have your blood pressure rising and your heart ready to explode! Right from the very first page this story explodes off the pages and does not slow down one bit. The suspense is a killer, the twists and turns come out of nowhere and the emotional turmoil will play havoc with your heart and gut! Also, the amount of steam that is packed into Sebastian and Dixon’s story will utterly obliterate your panties and leave you craving for more!

Sebastian and Dixon continue to take us on a wild journey that is filled with such bitter hate, anger, pain, passion and a love that is undeniable. These two men go through a whole hell of lot of life changing moments that could have destroyed either one of them. Both were on a precipice of utter destruction. But finally, when they are once again pulled together that chemistry that they have had right from the start has grown into something more. They are soulmates in every sense of the word.

Brilliantly written story that pulls us readers in, keeps us gripping our kindles tightly, gasping at every shocking turn of event or tragic moment that happens right before our eyes, and pulls on our heartstrings making us fall hopelessly in love with two very fierce men.

I loved every second of this deliciously sinful duet and I can’t wait to see what this amazing author brings us next.

After finishing Blue 42 I couldn’t wait to start this book and just like the first it was amazing.

I was hooked from the beginning when I met Dixon and Seb and reading them in Red Zone made me love them even more.

This story is filled with emotion from the beginning, my heart hurt for most of this book I was literally crying at 1 point. The raw feelings of these 2 is so heavy it feels like your going through it with them. Both together and separately 🥰

The plot gets more intense with outside factors coming into play. More violence and unaliving.

From the emotion there is also a lot of laughter, the bonds that are created and t he love that comes together is beautiful. The way this book is written makes you feel so much 🖤

The spice 🥵 how do I even explain? When you read it you will see. ‘Good boy’ was a fave saying of mine and made me swoon 😍

This is a duel POV MM dark sports romance book with all the feels. The ending was amazing and I’m gutted the story is over but it couldn’t of been any better. This is definitely a favourite duet of mine 🖤

These are sooooo hot

I absolutely was addicted to this amazing sports mm romance duet. After the huge cliffy of Blue 42 I wasn't sure how this story would end or if these two could possibly have a happy ending. But C.A. Rene has stunned me with how good this ending is. I love that these guys have dark and criminal pasts and neither of them are perfect but they are 100% perfect for each other.

The Red Zone picks up three months after the brutal cliffhanger of book 1 Blue 42. Dixon and Seb are at a crossroad and there is no room for their relationship. Their past has defined their choices and actions and they now start to realize that in order to protect the person they love they need to remove themselves from the equation. It comes a time to reflect and absorb the lessons that come from your past experiences in order to become the better version of yourself.

Until then, both Nixon and Seb are caught up in a web of secrets, regrets and chemistry. Will they be strong enough to protect their love? Will all external factors allow them to live their love story? Read Red Zone and you will not be disappointed.

C.A Rene has once again delivered another fantastic addition to her Hail Mary Duet . A duet that is unforgettable and unputdownable. I can 100% guarantee that once you start reading Sebastian and Dixons emotional journey you are going to fall completely in love , not only with their characters but also with their wonderfully written storyline. C.A Renee has this amazing gift of knowing just how to grab onto all your emotions, to pull at your heartstrings so completely and suck you into each and every one of her books . Red Zone is the perfects conclusion to Seb and Dixions Amazon journey. It’s angsty, intriguing. Emotionally charged , heartbreaking, heartfelt, captivating, filled with second chances, twists and turns you will not be able expecting , witty banter , off the charts chemistry, it’s simply a emotional rollercoaster that will keep you on the edge of your seat . Dark romances and spacers romances and sports romances are two of my all time favorite tropes , and this is the best of both worlds . I really do not have the right words to express every single reason I loved Seb and Dixons love story . It’s something you need to experience for yourself. So do not wait go read it now

Damn, this book is wild. I wanted to just fill my review with shocked emoji's and leave it at that but figured that would make for a pretty boring review. If you like adrenaline pumping, action packed, what the hell did I just read books that will make you want to go to church after reading and confess to a multitude of sins then this is the book for you. There is so much that happens and i'm still trying to digest it all. Right from page one it starts with a bang, literally! Like from the barrel of a gun kinda bang! And it doesn't relent from there.

This is a super steamy, dark romance that has you scorning and rooting for the lovers to the very end. This picks up right where Blue 42 ends, you need to read that first. This is not a standalone. I feel so saddened by the conclusion of Sebastian and Dixon's story, i could live in Hail Mary universe forever. I'm not ready to say goodbye to my boys yet. They go on a real journey together in Red Zone, with highs and very intense lows but i absolutely loved where they ended up together. My heart is full and Sebastian and Dixon will stay locked up there long after reading.

This book picks up straight after the last book Blue42 which you do need to read before this.

I have to say this book made my head spin, it made me so dizzy as it was just so fast paced and full of action and things going on, I was frustrated at parts by decisions they made or how they behaved, wanting to shout at them and personally slap a female character in particular. It was quite thrilling. I don’t think I’ve read a book so quickly as it made you feel you needed to keep turning the page as the desperation to know the outcome was so intense.

Seb and North have a very intense, toxic and brutal love. They are like the darkness and light together, angel and the devil, all consuming love and obsession.

This book along with the first I would say are dark because of the content and behaviours at times, but I like that and how it’s been blended in amongst a professional football environment. It’s a clever twist really as normally dark stories tend to be solely mafia or paranormal.

In the end, feeling out of breath, I was extremely satisfied with the ending. It was an enthralling story, faced paced, highly sexual and truly messed up at times, which personally I enjoy.

First off I must reveal two things, one, I'm not a fan of sports at all and two, I've not read an MM book for a really long time. I'm very lucky that I'm on C. A. Rene's ARC team so that I got the chance to read this book. Firstly I read Blue 42 which is book one in the Hail Mary duet. I should have known that as with all her other books, if there is a story worth telling, regardless of setting or the individuals involved, it would utterly consume me. This book took me 3 days to read - it's been a busy few days in my personal life, so finding time to read has been hard. But this book was so good and so not what I was expecting, I immediately dropped into Red Zone. The angst, the pain, the utter obsession with the one they love and all the other stuff in life that gets in the way. This series has left me so satisfied, all the dark romance and angst and just all consuming love! To be honest, I still have no idea about sports and stuff, but I can sure appreciate the skill and pure hell that athletes put their bodies through. If you have enjoyed a C. A. Rene book before, you will love this and if you haven't, you really should!

Sportsball isn't supposed to be so emotionally intense...

Maybe I shouldn't have. Perhaps I should have waited, or skipped this one. There's a chance it could have been a better idea. However, the road to satisfaction is paved with poor decisions sometimes. And boy am I satisfied.

This was yet another INCREDIBLE read and at no point did I assume my emotions would be safe. It was a dangerous game to play but I didn't care. You simply can't stay away from Seb or Dixon, no matter how they act.

And let me be straight with y'all, Seb was an absolute terror. I don't know that I've ever wanted to smack a character more, he was SO cruel and it was made all the more horrible knowing it was coming from such a painful place. Fiction has no weight here, it doesn't matter if any of this is real or not because you feel it deep either way. There is NO escape from the emotions of it all.

Sometimes it was hard to read, maybe that's real life getting in the way but, I think most of it was genuine. The book is written so well it doesn't matter if you relate or not, it's familiar. You'll be invested, and you'll love it. I know I did.

That’s it?! Noooooo!

Omg this book ended way too soon for me. I need more!

Absolutely love Dixon and Sebs story. From the chemistry and passion to the drama, all of it was amazing. I would have a bit more build up of the situation and twists as to whom was involved. I feel like a bit more tension and drama for that part of the plot would have heightened the book and made it feel more satisfying when the situation sorted out in the end but I still enjoyed the book. I just wish it was longer because I don’t want to let these characters go yet!

Seb has come so far from the guy we met in Blue 42 until now. His development has been awesome and I love how both he and Dixon took the time for themselves in this book. It showed true growth and that they both recognised what they each needed to get to a healthy place. This is one of my favourite duets so far and I have enjoyed every second.

Amazing job Chrissy! Please tell me we will see these two in the future because their story can’t end here!

I miss them already. Sebastian and Dixon have such a pull that you don't want to let go. You can't let go. Their love story is filled with angst and tension, etched in violence and turmoil. Their love for the game is overshadowed by their love for each other. And it was not an easy road to get to their happy ending. Drama and issues from both sides loom in close, threatening to sever their already somewhat fractured line. This book is the stunning conclusion to the Hail Mary duet and I was gripped from the very beginning. This book picks up from that wicked cliffhanger in Blue 42. Dixon and Sebastian are in a race. A race against time, to clear up the mess that was made. A race to win each game, make it to the playoffs. A race to that finish line to make it back to each other even though their relationship is kind of toxic but they only know each other. They are all consuming and their need for each other is marked with desperation, depravity and darkness. Basically, just another day in CA Rene's mind.

Talk about an intense sequel to the first book!! A continuation of Dixon and Sebastian’s love/hate relationship with a helluva lot more smutiness with this one! Their constant push and pull with one another was in high gear, and the angst and toxicity was explosive!

“𝐓𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐈’𝐦 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧.”

Like the first book, these two men were so broken and toxic, but perfect for each other. Their chemistry was through the roof, a connection so unbelievable, with a fiery hot passion that was undeniable. How the author mixed emotions with desire so perfectly, leaving me in tears in quite a few different scenes, was precisely what this story needed.

𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕓𝕠𝕥𝕙 𝕠𝕗 𝕦𝕤, 𝕨𝕖’𝕣𝕖 𝕤𝕠 𝕗𝕦𝕔𝕜𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕕𝕪𝕤𝕗𝕦𝕟𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕒𝕝, 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕚𝕥’𝕤 𝕕𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕦𝕣𝕓𝕚𝕟𝕘.

The more in depth backstory was definitely appreciated as there were a few unanswered questions regarding Seb’s past. The tragic tension displayed by this author will suck you right in until the last word. Ten stars for this beautifully written book!!

Red Zone

-mm football romance
-dark themes
-🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶

The story picks up 3 months after the events that took place at the end of Blue 42 .

I love the dynamic  between Seb and Dixon . These two alpha males one being somewhat unhinged and the other being such a little brat ! But, it works . Seb doing everything in his power to protect Dixon and push him away  all the while Dixon is having none of it  and pushes to make seb see that he is worthy of love.

Oh my gosh there is so much going on in this book that will have you get so angry when it comes to certain back characters as far as being vindictive an petty trying to ruin Dixon in certain ways .. an then there is betrayal  from someone so close to seb that you didn't see coming ..  all in all I took my sweet time with this book because I didn't want Sebastian  & Dixon to end .. I absolutely  loved them for each other and this Duet will always be considered a favorite from this author.

I miss Seb and Dixon already. I've only just finished and I want to read this entire Duet again. It spoke to my broken, black heart in ways very few can. But that's the beauty of C.A Rene's writing. No matter how they spin it, I can fall for it each and every time. The dynamic between Sebastian and Dixon won't be for everyone, in fact there was an albeit short time I myself was worried for how this was going to shape up, but the connection they tried to fight for two books simply wouldn't and couldn't be denied. There are dark themes in this and none of the characters are particularly likeable, but I fell in love instantly in Blue 42 so I needed to know how this was going to end and the author might have torn my heart out but it was worth all of it. I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.

The wait is over and we have the conclusion to the epic love story of Dixon and Sebastian. It's been a year since I read Blue 42 (part one of the Hail Mary duet) and let me tell you, not many days passed where these boys didn't cross my mind, but oh my goodness was it worth the wait! Hell, I'd have waited forever for this masterpiece.

The tropes and the story line to this duet are just *chefs kiss* perfection! I mean seriously, Chrissy really gifts us with all of these:

🧑🏿‍🤝‍🧑🏽 Male/Male
 Sports
🩸 Gangs, Street Life, Vengance and Blood shed
🔥 Mouth watering levels of Spice and smut, with a Praise kink that is off the charts hot!
😈 Dark themes - check all the triggers, although if you read Blue 42 you'll know what to expect
🖤 A love so unstoppable that no amount of hurdles or toxicity could prevent it

And if all of this wasn't enough, we got so much more angst and intensity as all of the outside factors and the continuation of the events of book one come into play. The anticipation watching Seb rain down hell and Dixon fighting his own issues is going to keep you turning the pages so quickly you won't even realise you'll barely come up for air.

And I HAVE to mention the most amazing thing. Y'all know Seb, right? Alphahole, cocky, crude, dominating and borderline Psycho... well if you loved him like this, then you're going to lose your minds when you see what he's like fighting for Dixon when their love gets difficult and complicated. He had me weak at the knees and crying! A scary Seb is sexy, but an obsessed and in love Seb is just everything!

And Dixon, oh how I love him. Beautiful, empathetic and strong boy 😭 he goes through so many motions and battles so many demons, all the while remaining true to himself and how he feels!

These two were made for each other, without a doubt they are the definition of soul mates. Does it take them a while to work it all out? Yes. Is it worth it? Oh god yes, their journey is emotional, intense, gritty, angsty, heated and passionate. They love and fight in equal measure with everything they have in them. This duet is just phenomenal, a flawless concoction of amazing tropes that's going to have to hook, line and sinker, and go down in history as one of the greatest romances.

Red Zone is part two of the Hail Mary duet. I will say that this duet has solidified itself as my favorite M/M. This book is filled with tension, twists, steam, and heartache that kept me reading to see what would happen. I read this book without putting it down because I was on the emotional rollercoaster and didn’t want to get off.

I still love Dixon but Sebastian completely won me over in this book. He’s not a good guy and he is dark and dangerous, but I just felt for him so much in this book. His story literally broke my heart right along with Dixon’s. These two have so much chemistry that jumps off the pages!

If you enjoy M/M stories that are a little dark and steamy then you need to read this. I absolutely cannot get enough and wish there was more with Dixon and Sebastian.

This was my first book by C.A. Rene and instant one click author now. I had so much fun with this story, I did stupidly start at the second book of this duet but I’m definitely going to go and still read the first one.

Sebastian and Dixon are just the best time. From Sebastian’s sass and the way he smoothly drops shade, to Dixon’s brattiness and his determination they just don’t stop. Their dynamic goes from stolen moment, to ✨steam✨, to petty, then the emotional downfalls in between.

Honestly just go and read this duet, there’s football, there’s spicy spice, there’s moment that’s have you cackling. In the end there’s no reason not to, so do it.

I was excited and absolutely terrified to read this book especially after the cliffhanger in the previous book. This book was one hell of an emotional roller coaster ride that I would willing ride again and again. Sebastian was one of my favourite characters because there was something about him that really intrigued me. I really enjoyed watching him evolve throughout this duet. I also really loved Dixon’s mother because she was caring and absolutely hilarious. She definitely stole the spotlight on more than one occasion.

Red Zone was the perfect way to finish Dixon and Sebastian’s story. I can’t wait to see what C.A. Rene does next.

I enjoyed super how much Sebastian and Dixon grew throughout this duet.

After the murders it changed both men. Seb is still broody, and cocky and into street life and confused about his feelings for Dixon. Meanwhile Dixon is the good boy, and confused as heck about his sexuality. They both however have a hard time denying their feelings towards one another.

Their story is full of angst, personal turmoil and outside interference. Their relationship is dark adn depraved and I loved every moment of it.

The book had a perfect pace and I couldnt put it down. The perfect conclusion to the Hail Mary duet.

"Dixon North is my f*cking vice, a drug I won’t ever see the bottom of."

Red Zone is the second and final book in the Hail Mary duet. This cannot be read as a standalone. It immediately starts off three months after the events of Blue 42 took place.

This was another emotionally raw, roller coaster ride. The drama, the fight, the immense s*xual tension & chemistry, the suspense, literally everything, sucks you right in. From the first book, I've said they had such a toxic relationship, but you literally can't help but to root for them. I definitely recommend this duet for those who enjoy an amazing Dark MM, Enemies to lovers, Sports Romance

This was part 2 of the Hail Mary Duet by C.A. Rene. I’m really starting to believe she can’t write anything bad. Everything she puts out is consistently 4/5 star reads!

As always, check your triggers! This IS a MM romance! If you do not read MM, DO. NOT. READ. THIS. You will not enjoy it.

Dixon & Seb. 😍🥵 We have read about how hard it was for them to finally get their HEA and I don’t want to leave them yet. I want to peek at their futures. Way down the road. I felt like we were given great POVs from both men. Being able to see and know what they were thinking helped me get into their storyline again.

Every time I write a review for a C.A. Rene book, I start the review by saying, "C.A. Rene has done it again." But I cannot help myself because she does it time after time with each book, honestly.

I was captivated from the very first page! What an intense ride this book was, literally. This book had me in my feelings! There was heartbreak, pain, drama, and angst, but there was also action, chemistry, suspense, and tension; everything was the perfect combination.

This book was a dark and steamy M/M sports romance read, and I can't recommend it enough! It is a duet so make sure you read the first book, and as I always say, please check the trigger warnings before jumping in.

Red Zone by C.A. Rene is a dark MM Football Romance. This is the second book in the Hail Mary Duet.

I absolutely love Chrissy's books! She does an amazing job pulling me into the story and I can't help but binge them. I loved how much Sebastian and Dixon grew over the course of this duet. I really enjoyed getting both of their point of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I would recommend this series if you like dark romances, MM romances, or sports romances.

Red Zone is the dark and emotional conclusion to this MM sports romance duet and it was a great read. Dixon and Seb have to fight for everything in their lives. They struggle so hard to stay away from each other but their magnetic pull is too strong and when they clash sparks fly. We see a different side of Seb in this story and Dixon just breaks my heart. I kept hoping for them to find happiness and acceptance. This story has exceptional writing with such complex and fascinating characters and I loved every dark and gut-wrenching word. Read this book!!!!
